Cast the Marvel Universe - Part 1

I don't mind. If a spy has an accent, that usually means they're a s****y spy.

I think when she was undercover as Tony's assistant she should've had an American accent, but used the Russian accent when talking to Fury/SHIELD.

- I saw a side-by-side comparison shot of Cyclops and Tahmoh Penikett, and there is a distinct likeness there. Plus, he's really good on Battlestar Galactica.
- For some reason, I can't see Milla as Jean Grey. She would've made an excellent Black Widow, but that ship has sailed when Scarlett Johannson came around, dat gunt (I'm joking around, I'm not pissed about Scarlett). However, if you watch Vera Farmiga in Joshua and Orphan, you'd see that she'd make a great Jean Grey.
- Eh, I'd want someone with the voice for Beast. Hey, what do you think of Keifer Sutherland?
- Good pick for Kitty Pryde. But what do you think of my choice: Lyndsy Fonseca?
- Someone on ************** cast Daniel Bruhl as Nightcrawler. I think that's a great pick. But I like Alan Tudyk, and wouldn't care what role he's cast in.
- Julie Benz is an odd one. I've seen her work on Dexter, and she's not that bad an actress. But she seems to attract herself to such horrible movies. Lest we forget the mediocre Punisher: War Zone. But Emma Frost could be the make-it-or-break-it role that could challenge her.
- I somewhat like Tricia for Emma Frost, even though I've approved of your choice of Julie Benz. Maybe this is the role Milla could work with, since she can play intense, brooding characters.
- I saw Deb cast as Hope on ************** on one of JoshW's Cable fancasts.

The rest are great.

Thanks for the feedback.
-I saw the Penikett-Cyclops resemblance when I was looking at some Frank Quitely New X-Men images. His Cyclops, to me, looks EXACTLY like "Helo".
-I could definitely see Vera as Jean. Another strong choice for the role.
-As far as my choice of Ruffalo as Beast goes, this is what I posted in the other thread: "For me, Beast is the reluctant hero of the bunch. He wants to spend his life helping people, but maybe not so much in the way that the X-Men do it. He would prefer not getting his hands dirty with the violent aspect of the heroics, but plays along for the greater good. He is the most sincere of the group, yet the most unsure, because he doesn't completely agree with the way things are being handled (especially currently with Cyclops). I feel like Ruffalo has the right face and voice for that kind of role. He doesn't have that super sophisticated or nerdy voice people often cast Beast with, but I could definitely see him in the role."
-Lyndsy Fonseca... she's the one from Hot Tub Time Machine and Kick-Ass, right? If so, I really like that. She definitely has a certain "spunk" to bring to the role of Kitty. She is also uber hot... like painfully hot.
-As far as some of the other stuff goes, I could actually see some of my picks shuffled around, like Tricia Helfer as Emma Frost would definitely work. I also would definitely not be against Milla Jovovich, my Jean Grey, being Mystique instead of Jean.

I really like that having Kitty Pryde in several casts allowed for multiple pics of Lyndsy Fonseca. I also really like Scott Porter as Havok. That is a really interesting choice that I have never heard before. I think he would also fit really well next to my choice for Cyclops.

My big criticism would be the same one you seemed to have already encountered. That is the use of so many of the existing actors for certain roles. I know in some cases, such as trying to fit within the established X-Men movie universe, it makes more sense, but, for example, in the one about the Champions, with it involving characters currently owned by three different studios, I think it would be more fun to come up with new ones instead of posting people like Nic Cage.

Also, very good job on casting lots and lots of beautiful women... Elizabeth Hurley, Alice Eve, Kate Beckinsale, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tricia Helfer, etc...

Here's the deal. I would love to see all the rights to every Marvel character return to Marvel but, at the same time, keep some of the current actors. Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr. interacting with one another would be THE way to go, since it's being done in fanfilms.

By the way, I never gave thought about Lyndsy as Shadowcat, but for my X-Men: Days of Future Past fancast, I felt I should recast some of the past actors and actresses with people who either look like older versions of what the characters looked like in X-Men: The Last Stand, or are better choices.

I suggest you sign up to ************** and leave comments on the site. I'm trying to corral everyone into checking out the casts I made, because I've heard someone got 75 comments for a fancast he/she made.

I still wish Emily Blunt would've been Black Widow. ScarJo is alright but Blunt would've killed it. And use a Russian accent. For some reason it REALLY bugs me when they don't use the accents the character is supposed to have. I just think it really takes away a big part of the character.

LOL, people are still debating about this?

BW never had an accent in the comics, there was a panel where Dum Dum Dugan comments on it. So that is hardly part of her character.

Also some people have watched entirely too much Dark Knight, where they come off thinking every Russian has to have an accent.

I'm not debating, I was just sharing my thoughts on the matter. And every comic I've ever read was written to make her sound like she had an accent.

I'm gonna cast the Dark Avengers

Iron Patriot - Greg Kinnear

Captain Marvel - Steven R. McQueen

American Son - Anton Yelchin

It would be interesting to see Greg Kinnear as the big bad evil. I mean, I've seen him play a super nice guy, and a *****e, but never full on bad guy, ya know.

Well, he played a bad guy in Robots. Plus, he has the right attitude for the Green Goblin.

Love the idea of Kinnear as Iron Patriot and I've always thought Law is a perfect Bullseye. Worthington as Sentry though? No effin way.

Bit of a mixed bag there MarvelComix but keep going, I enjoy your casting.

Well, Sam played a similar character to Bob Reynolds in Terminator Salvation: a guy who meets an unfortunate end. I think he's managing his accent after hearing him in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Physically he doesn't suit the role and acting wise I think the Sentry is a difficult role if written right. Too difficult for Worthington.

Kill me now, please!!

She's supposed to be Asian, and I'd probably kill myself if Megan Fox was in X-Men, or playing a superhero at all

X-23 isn't Asian.

She's Logan's clone. His son is Asian just because he knocked up and Asian lady.

Isn't Squirrel Girl supposed to be a teenager? Elisabeth Moss would be way too old.

I'd go for Miranda Cosgrove. She has a good comedic timing, and her fast delivery of lines and high voice can fit the character well, IMO.

1. I went by height.
2. I never knew Squirrel Girl was a teenager.
3. I've wanted to cast Miranda Cosgrove in a fancast for such a long time. And I think you've hit pay dirt like nobody's business. I could kiss you.

She's too old but Moss is exactly the look I see when I think Squirrel Girl. She's far from conventionally attractive but kind of cute in a way that people only notice after a while.

Anyone read the news that Yvonne Strahovski is being looked into playing Ms. Marvel?

This girl is like Anna Paquin: she's got a solid frame, but I cannot get past the teeth. Did she get a pair of phoney chipmunk teeth from some novelty store or something?

Still, she knows karate and is tall, so there's necessary criteria filled.

Amazing Champions fancast. Hey, over on **************, I'm contemplating starting over again with new fancasts, and chances are I'll cast Josh Holloway as Ghost Rider. It's a standout pick, and I'm surprised no one thought of it. He'd be great as Gambit, but seeing as he's not gonna take on roles "similar to Sawyer", I'm sure Ghost Rider would work.

Plus I see you have my pick for Darkstar from my Champions of Los Angeles fancast.
