I'm thinking it's because of the exposure she got from being in The Help. And besides, I think she's not too bad a choice - she's quite beautiful, classy, and is about the right age.

she's a julliard grad and and oscar nominee. why does there need to be some sort of reference in a film that would point to her being a good jean grey? does every suggestion have to be as unimaginative as quinto as namor because he was spock or lynn collins as wonder woman because she was dejah thoris?

I've seen her in the media a lot recently, IMHO she looks the part, and she seems like should could pull it off quite nicely. My reasons are that simple. I would also readily accept Bryce Dallas Howard as Jean.

Maggie Q would be my choice.

Why? Not only is she a bad actress but her face is as plain as it is long (and my goodness is it ever long) and she's way too skinny to play Psylocke or most other comic book superheroines. In fact Jake's side by side manip is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I don't expect actresses to be built exactly like the characters but that's no reason to run in the opposite direction and cast someone who's body couldn't be more different.

Oh God, no. Dichen Lachman is a butterface for sure - she's got a pretty kicken bod, but her features look so out of whack that it's just off putting. No thank you.
