Cast the MCU X-Men/Fantastic Four

I know, right?...To Hell with artistic interpretation.

That's the wrong question with the wrong attitude from jump. hahahaha! Even if someone gave you something feasible that could actually work, would you open your mind enough to accept it?...haha! If not, than why does it matter?
Magneto’s origin is what makes him who he is.
It’s the most important part of character.
It’s the reason for his actions and beliefs

Throwing all of that away for “artistic interpretation” would be incredibly stupid. :funny:

^ Exactly. He wouldn't be Erik Lehnsherr anymore. Why even use the character if you're going to change everything about him?

Really like this cast

Agreed but You guys make it sound like what happened to the Jews in WW2 only happened to them.
Genocide has happened to other groups of people. Bosnia, Armenia, Cambodia, Rwanda, etc.
These events could very well create a man like Magneto in another part of the world and at a different time.
Is it really that much of a stretch?...I mean Magneto's back story may make him who he is but the very bases of his character is based on Malcolm X and he wasn't a Holocaust survivor yet alone a Jew.

hahahaha! If it wasn't for "Artistic interpretation," Then Charles and Erik would indeed be black characters from the beginning. hahahaha

I wouldn't mind Bomer now that I look at the above image. I like the idea of Lively as Sue too so I do hope she will workout a little. One of her previous movies, she looked really flat but that's just me. Just want to see her fill her suit out nicely, that's all.

I'm also wondering if James Franco could make a decent Reed. Sure, he and Rogen's Ben would be genuine as best friends and Franco is capable of dramatic roles. Thought he was pretty good in Rise of the Planet of the Apes for example. And I suppose they will have to cast Victor Von Doom around the same age too... late 30's-early 40's.

James Franco is unconvincing as a scientist imo. Apes proved that for me.

Fair enough. OK, another Sue contender. Annabelle Wallis from Peaky Blinders. Thought she was underwhelming in The Mummy but I'm sure that wasn't her fault.

I say keep Channing Tatum as Gambit. He’d be a great addition to the MCU! :)

Cillian Murphy as Victor Von Doom?! He's 41 so putting him up against Reed around that age would be perfect.

Should Doom have an accent?
I mean the character, not the eventual actor.
But still, I'd go for German speaking actors for Doom and Magneto.

Yeah, race changing doesn't bother me as a rule. I was one of the happy few who wanted Zendaya as the full-blown Mary Jane Watson experience.

But Magneto's backstory literally defines his character. It's a little bit different.

There are too many minority Characters in X-Men to race bending. MCU can make anyone popular so they should use proper actors for proper roles

There are simply not enough good German speaking actors out there. The MCU already used the best of them, Christoph Waltz excluded, and I really don't want them to use awful actors like Elyas M'Barek, Tobias Moretti or Martin Semmelrogge just because they feel obligated to use German speaking actors

I'd be pissed at marvel if they race bend the X-MEN. There's mutants from all 7 continents and marvel made Korg popular I want them to make all the different races of X-Men good with out raceswapping

I feel like you might have missed the point of the xmen.

Plus, there's only so long you can have a holocaust survivor as the main villain. Marvel's success comes from making stories that are very relevant to now. A story about people who handled the civil rights era trying to raise the next generation of freedom fighters is very now

Please just stop Don't tell me I missed the point of X-MEN I've been reading it my entire life. I have every X-Men video game I have all the cartoons and animes and every comic from1963-2016 downloaded.

I don't want a black Xavier or magneto. MCU can finally make Bishop a house hold name (lose the gun though). I don't like being the black version of some white Character. I prefer having a cool Character of my own to like.

Which movie did you see with Lively? She was in great shape in the Shallows. And I'd hardly call her really flat. At all.

No to Cillian Murphy as Doom. He looks like a more effeminate version of Tom Welling.

hahahaha! But both Magneto and Xavier are white versions of real black people.

I get it if you don't like change but no need to sound like a hypocrite, man. It's bad form.

they really aren't. sure, a comparison to Malcom X/MLK can be made and it wouldn't be wrong, but that's something that was developed retroactively when the writers noticed similarities and decided to build upon them.

That is perfect for Doom really.

Thank you.

Wolverine is a white version of Mike Tyson. :o

OK, well that is no doubt a better pic of Lively compared to one of the other promo pics from the movie where her butt appeared rather flat, so I would like to retract my earlier statement in that regard. I still wouldn't mind her as Sue regardless. :)

As for your response to Cilian Murphy - LOL!

I couldn't really care less, BUT it might be too on the nose to race-bend Magneto and Xavier given that the characters' were largely created as Malcolm X / MLK analogues.
