I still want Jensen Ackles for Hal Jordan

Yeah, me too. I recently considered plenty of guys in the range of mid 20's to late 30's and in the end returned to Ackles. He might be an overused fan-casting (whatever that means) and maybe not the most inspiring one, but I don't give a damn, he's simply perfect for the role.

And going for the more obvious choice isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, considering so many strange castings so far, it wouldn't hurt them to make it a bit simpler this time.

Sometimes the obvious or fan choice is the correct one :woot:

Ok guys, bear with me here...stick him in a gym like they did with Chris Pratt...he's known for comedy but have seen moments of him with great dramatic potential...he's very likeable too.

I can see Jason Segel as Hal:

I actually would support both of those choices (Segel and Urban) Some would say Segel may be too comedic, but from what I've seen, the dude has range.

As crazily weird it may sound, I actually wouldn't mind seeing Jason Segel as Hal Jordan. I will admit that he has shown some versatility aside from comedy and HIMYM. If Chris Pratt can do it as Star Lord, I don't see why not Segel as Hal. Anything's possible.

I can see Warner looking at Garrett Hedlund from Pan.

Hate the idea of Segel as Jordan. I don't think he'd be able to pull off the charming adventurer side. Too tall and too awkward even in roles when he's not trying to be.

Urban wouldn't be bad.

If they want Hal relatively young though I think Hedlund is the right pick.

best contenders for Hal imo. in order

Chris Pine (completely perfect for the role in every way)

Jake Gyllenhaal (fits the role visually and he's an amazing actor that would kill it)

Aaron Paul (can easily pull off the Hal swagger)

Anyone here a fan of SyFy's Dark Matter?

Three of the characters there seem to be archetypes for Kyle Rayner (One), Guy Gardner (Three), and John Stewart (Six)

One played by Marc Bendavid, a sensitive type
1

Three played by Anthony Lemke, the loudmouth braggart
1

Six played by Roger Cross, the strong silent type
1

I know TV actors rarely become Movie actors, but having a show with these three characters similar to three Earth Green Lanterns is surprising!

Yeah I watch it & I can see what you're saying. The conflicts, particularly between 1 & 3 feels like a strong component of the show

I just finished watching BBC's Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Enzo Cilenti has mostly had small roles in movies and TV shows like Game of Thrones, but I thought he was great in JS&MN as Childermass and I kept thinking he could be really good as Sinestro.

I am currently watching the first season of "Murder in the first" and I think Tom Felton would make a really good gardner. He played a really good charasmatic a-hole in it. He was also in Harry Potter

Richard Armitage as Sinestro.
Jack Reynor as Hal Jordan.

After seeing Rogue Nation, now I'm thinking Sean Harris would make a good Sinestro.

I was thinking about this earlier and I think I have to revise some of my cast a bit. O'Mara is still one of my top choices for Hal, but I think that WB is more likely to go with a bigger name actor or more of an "up and comer." O'Mara might fit that bill but it seems unlikely.

Hal Jordan: Aaron Eckhart or James Badge Dale - I envision Hal as an older and more experienced GL; maybe we could get a brief intro that shows his origin (similar to Star-Lord in GOTG) but I feel like it the majority of the film should feature a weathered Hal showing the ropes to new recruits. Eckhart is getting older but was still pretty jacked the last time I saw him, and while his career may be in a bit of a rough patch at the moment, he was really good in TDK, Thank You for Smoking and even Battle: Los Angeles. And for what it's worth, he expressed interest in the role back when TDK came out. James Badge Dale is a little younger, but is very good at playing cocky military types, as we saw in World War Z and Iron Man 3. I think either of them would be a good fit.

John Stewart: Michael B. Jordan - Since there's pretty much a 0% chance of a Fantastic Four sequel happening (despite Fox spouting bullsh** to save face), WB should pursue MBJ for this. Fun, charismatic actor who isn't afraid to bulk up and would fit the part really well. If they want to go a little older with the character, then Nate Parker is also a good choice. But of the two, I'd go with Jordan.

Guy Gardner: Seann William Scott - Anyone who has seen the American Pie films knows that Scott can play a cocky *****e to perfection. But I'd also recommend watching Goon, in which SWS plays a lovable dope hockey player. Despite the fact that he's knocking guys teeth out in half the film, he's still the nicest, most innocent guy you'll ever meet. A blend of that character and his classic Stifler persona would make a perfect Guy Gardner.

Hal Jordan: Jake Gyllenhaal
John Stewart: Michael B Jordan
Guy Gardner: Aaron Paul
Kilowog: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Katma Tui: Olga Kurylenko
Ganthet: Ian McDiarmid
Sinestro: Mads Mikkelsen

Boom

I've just watched the Guest and it got me thinking Dan Stevens wouldn't be a bad choice for Hal.

Well I see it didn't take long for Michael B. Jordan to start getting fancast as John Stewart. Personally I think he's a pretty bad actor, he's boring and wooden. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd actually rather see Tyrese get the role over Jordan.
