The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Edward Norton for Riddler lmao

Edward Norton could totally play the Riddler. Iwouldn't say he's versatile, but he’s definitely a good actor.

Anyways, I made a list of people I think look the part for the respective characters listed with them. I know that at least two of them of them are dead and others wouldn’t do the characters justice.

Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman)
Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine)
Comissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman)
Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale)

Rachel Dawes (a younger, more attractive Maggie Gylenhaal *way better than Holmes*)
Two Face/Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart)
The Joker (Heath Ledger/Scott McClure)
Ra's Al Ghul (Liam Neeson)
Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy)

-------
Catwoman/Selina Kyle (Olivia Wilde)
Holly Robinson (Sarah Carter)
Talia Al Ghul (Marion Cotillard)

Riddler (Sharlto Copley)
Mad Hatter (John Malkovich)

Killer Croc (Ron Perlman)
Deadshot (Michael C Hall)
Harley Quinn(Christina Ricci if Nolan’s going for this
http://www.youtube.com/thejokerblogs; otherwise Brittany Murphy)
Pamela Isley (Emily Blunt if Ricci was the choice; otherwise Ali Larter)

Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Sigourney Weaver)
Vicky Vale (Scarlett Johansson)
Hugo Strange (Christoph Waltz)
Hush (Kevin McKidd)
Black Mask (Hugo Weaving)
Nightwing/Dick Grayson (Milo Ventimiglia )
Batgirl/Barbara Gordon (Michelle Tratchenberg)
Red Robin/Jason Todd (Hayden Christensen)
Robin/Tim Drake (Jacob Kogan *the only decent child actor I know of*)
Oswald Cobblepott (Bob Hoskins)
Bane (Javier Bardem)
Mister Freeze (Tim Roth)

Firefly (Eric Bana)
David Cane (Stephen Lang *once again LOOKS the part*)
The Ventriloquist (Austin Pendleton)
Red Claw (Mia Maestro)
Clock-king (Christopher Lloyd)
Deathstroke/Slade Wilson (I do not know but he should be in)

Wha!? Uh... I... Hm... Ah.... Uh... :cmad:
lol Whoa whoa whoa, breathe in and out.
Don't get me wrong, I loved him in Fight Club, American X and the Hulk but he's got that chilled-out, calm personality that's always shows when he acts.

^Well just for the record, I thought he was very diverse when you compare him from the quiet, sublte Tyler Durden to the racist and angry soul of Derek Vinyard; both quite different, if I do say so myself.

He's not Hulk anymore (GOD D*NMIT!!!!), so open availability for him a Riddler would make me an opportunist for him. :woot: :hrt:

Two different characters yes and yeah he played both wonderfully, but the only reason I didn't believe he was Derek was because he looked like he was on steroids.

lol Good thing Hulk in Marvel and Riddler is DC.

I think that Nolan will snag either DiCaprio or JGL for a role in Batman 3...

Exactly the impression I got after seeing 'Inception.'

I said to a friend afterwards that i really thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy (easily my favourite of the three) would be in with a big, big chance of playing one of the villains in the 3rd Batman film.

As his look in Bronson proved Hardy could look great as Bane, but his talents deserve a much more talkative part. Although after seeing him in 'The Take' as well, any villain he plays should have a genuinely psychotic edge to them.

I could see either Gordon-Levitt or DiCaprio as Edward Nigma too. Granted, it'd be a step away from the sorts of characters Leo has typically played, but I think he's capable of doing it.

I'd quite like to see Harley Quinn as well. Maybe as a cohort for the Riddler or some sort of twisted Joker-loving girl.

Look at this detail:

-Marion Cotillard is french
-Henry Ducard(Ras Al Ghul)was "french" in Batman Begins...

Makes sense she playing Talia.

I still like Monica Bellucci for Talia, as old as she is now.

i've been hearing pretty much the same names for the past two years. some of the names are even up in the air between two potential characters ("she could play Talia or Selina!")

I just hope that we get another situation where Nolan casts against type. I don't think anyone suggested Heath for The Joker before he was announced. He never played an antagonist in anything.

I hope we get that again, followed by two years of people saying it is the worst casting choice they have ever heard, then the same people proclaim he/she is the definitive actor for said character after the film is released. If Nolan casts a predictable actor that has been mentioned here time and again, i'll be sad.

^ agreed. A lot of people seem to just go for whomever's been in one of Nolan's films. Granted, Nolan likes to re-use certain actors but let's broaden our horizons a bit...

Anyway.

Chris Rock for the Penguin.

Think the only way Nolan can top TDK is doing now a full-fledged ARKHAM ASYLUM.

Joker must be a shadowy character there, coordinating the chaos. It should drive to questions as to who is sane: them or Bats, in Morrison & McKean's fashion.

Can see no other way to top TDK.

IF Nolan will put Catwoman in the mix, which I sadly doubt much, it should be Bellucci, or Cotillard.

Bellucci would provide a VERY interesting new take, as she is older and sexy as hell.

Nolan's already said he's not going to have Joker return, either out of respect for Heath or because he's simply done with that character's story in these films. I also think that would be too reminiscent of what happened in Batman Begins with Scarecrow running things there. "So when did the nuts take over the nuthouse?"

Having said that, I don't think the point of this film should be to up the ante in terms of intensity. Obviously, the villain needs to be a formidable threat, but the point of the film should be to "redeem" Batman in the eyes of the people of Gotham, considering that he's wanted for murder at the end of TDK.

 Just because SHE'S french doesnt mean she has to PLAY a french character.....

That in Begins was chaos in the city, not the madhouse freakshow.

And the Joker coming back is no lack of respect for the great Ledger: it's only natural that a villain of those abilities couldn't be kept quiet in prison or wherever.

Ledger was a formidable actor, and he created the Joker as it stands in Nolanverse (which means by now cinema history), and that won't change.

Maybe Nolan doesn't want to do it, but doing it wouldn't be a disrespect: quite the contrary.

I know it...silly, but Marion Cotillard is french and the name Henry Ducard is french...and Marion has a french accent.:cmad:
Makes all the sense anyway.:woot:

Yeh, but given that Ledger died and his performance was just so show-stealing, they aren't going to put the Joker in the third film being played by a different actor, there would be no point.
Would anyone even want to see him played by anybody else now anyway?

They'll cast a new villain or villains.
