The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

No offense to the people who want Jolie... but am I the only person who notices that she gets named for EVERY female comic book character out there? Jolie should be Catwoman. Jolie should be Talia. Jolie should be Wonder Woman. Jolie should be Ava Lord. For Pete's sake, there is more than ONE actress in Hollywood, folks. I like her too, but this is getting as bad as when everyone was petitioning to have Jude Law play Superman, Batman, the Joker, Namor, Iron Man, etc.

She's just that good. j/k I'd like to see her as Catwoman and Catwoman only. Catherine Zeta-Jones is still young enough for the role of Talia and really is the best I can think of for that role. Runner up for Talia would be Salma Hayek. Wonder Woman should go to someone along the lines of Jennifer Connelly or Kate Beckinsale. And as for Ava Lord...I have no idea who that is.

I agree also that Angelina Jolie should be Selina Kyle only. she's dman good actress.

I really don't like anyone who's been mentioned for Joker. Many of them I very much dislike, such as Crispin Glover and Jason Lee. I think we'd be better off having an unknown in the role. Maybe someone like Cillian Murphy. Someone established, but without any kind of name recognition.

Paddy Considine for the Joker

He seems similar to Cillian Murphy in that he's a great(Hell, Empire Magazine called him the English De Niro) but not very well known actor. His films include 24 hour party people, In America, and Cindarella Man. The movie to check out though, is Dead Man's Shoes. Plus, I think that grin is just great for Mr. J.

Supposedly, he's very good friends with Mr. Nolan as well.

Crispin Glover is the only person for the role. Anyone who thinks differently has no interest in the Joker, or simply doesn't know Crispin Glover's work. If you honestly believe old, ugly men could ever be the elegant, beautiful jester that Joker is meant to be, you truly have no clue what the hell you are talking about. True, both Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson began the trend for old, ugly Jokers, but all Batman fans know the animated Batman series with Hamill's voice absolutely redefined the Joker. The lanky, elusive Joker is both youthful, energetic, skinny, and has a nose like Crispin Glover. To cast anyone else, would be to mock the vision created by those who truly cared about this great iconic villian. Shame on all who believe Del Toro, Penn, Pitt, Roth or any of these losers could ever approach the magnificent portrayal Hamill created.

Crispin Glover for Joker.

Clown "prince" of Crime isn't just a catchy nickname, his elegance and beauty is what makes him so damn easy to watch, and so shocking when he turns from absolutely ammusing to brutally insane/homicidal. Jack Nicholson was just homocidal, rarely elegant or ammusing.

Here's a casting call, using some of the better manips I've seen in these forums...

I'd say that Jeremy Irons would be a good choice for Mr. Freeze. No offense to Arnie, but he didnt do justice at all to this great villain.

I would say...

JOKER - Paul Bettany or maybe Jason Lee
TWO FACE - Clive Owen
RIDDLER - Steve Buscemi

I agree that Crispin would be a good choice for the Joker. Here is a manip I made of him in the role:

I hear you! Ever heard of Depp playing Riddler, Joker, Bob the bumb on the corner and Mad Hatter?

steve coogan for joker. eh? eh??
English actor whose versatile character portrayals, range of voices and gift for mimicry have earned him comparisons with the late Peter Sellers.

Here is my new Joker manip, using Crispin Glover:

Well said. Could definately see her in the role. I wonder if someone would be good enough to do a manip for me... that I'll use for, uh, personal reasons. :hyper:

I've seen separate threads for the casting of individual villains and/or villains who haven't been used in the prior Batman films, but how about a thread where we list any and every villain and who you'd like to see play them in one thread... Assuming this Bat-franchise goes on as long as the Bond series, cast any villain you'd like from A-list villains such as the Joker and Two-Face to obscure villains such as Abbatoir and Steeljacket.

Here's my ideal cast for future Bat-villains...

Great choices all around. One problem:The Creeper isn't a villain. He's just a crazy vigilante. Think The Joker but not evil.

Great manips. The Riddler is the best.

Glover looks the part, but I have a hard time seeing him playing it.

So far Charlize Theron is my favorite choice for Selina Kyle / Catwoman. I haven't seen anyone who would be a better choice (and please don't say Angelina Jolie).

The Rock for Two Face.

Harvey.gif

The Rock does resemble that version of Harvey Dent, but THAT Harvey Dent is based off of the black Harv from the '89 film I do believe. When they switched from TAS to TNBSA and made revisions to the characters (for better or for worse) Harvey looked white like his comic book counterpart. I do see the resemblence in the two pictures above though; however, casting the Rock as Two-Face would probably end up being as sorry as Ahhhnold as Freeze.
