The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Joaquin Phoenix as Bane. They are both kinda stocky built, and Phoenix is even Hispanic.

No he's not he's just born in Puerto Rico and named after Joaquin Murieta

Ian Holm for the Mad Hatter

Not a big Bane fan, but I can definitely see Kevin Durand playing him.

I've also been liking Javier Bardem for Bane for the last couple months. He has a menacing face and is a very strongly built person. Great actor. And could look much bigger with a weight and fitness regiment before filming.

Black Mask - Cole Hauser

Think the anti-Bruce Wayne. Could have been burned in some business deal by the Wayne's ages ago. Would have a personal vendetta with Wayne.
Catwoman - Emily Blunt
Emily_Blunt8.jpg

Catwoman would be an anti-hero whose lifestyle is that of an upscale Gothamite. She seems to act out of boredom more than any particular sense of malice or duty.
Bane - Nathan Jones

Personal vendetta with Batman, but more because of his attitude toward society: one of survival of the fittest. I could easily see him as a drifter, with little past, who seeks confrontation with the Dark Knight for sport.
Mad Hatter - Mos Def

This character struck me as in particular need of an overhaul. Most posters here defect immediately to the "pedophile" angle, but that never set with me. First of all, pedophilia really has little place in these movies, second no pedophile is this over the top, in fact they typically try to hide behind masks of normalcy and try to at least appear trustworthy. So I felt Mad Hatter would be better as a pimp, someone who prostitutes young women. Certainly would go much further to explain his appearance and gimmick.
Riddler - Michael Emerson

I see him more as a Mr. Glass figure. Someone so smart he moves the world like chess board, but so narcisistic he feels the need to accept credit for his greatness. He works behind the scenes, hoping to find someone smart enough to figure out his greatness.

I like Benicio Del Toro & Nathan Jones for Bane.
Nathan Jones actually spent 16 in prison for armed robbery when he was young and he has done a sh** ton of steroids. As far as acting from the side of experience goes, he's got it.

Is he still on the roids?

Ye...Don't understand how he could make a good Bane...He's a good and all but, if you are staying true to the comics...Doesn't meet all recommendations!

William Forsythe as Harvey Bullock

Good actor in my opinion. Has a bit of a history of playing a hard-a** cop.

Based solely on looks, I would cast DJ Qualls

as the Mad Hatter. The drawing is mine but casting Qualls was an afterthought. This was done for ConceptArt.org's "CHOW" (Character of the Week), this week being "Dark Knight Villains". Only requirement is that they not be in BB or TDK.

AND here is a little back story to explain how the mind controlling Hatter would fit into the Nolan verse.

Jervis Tetch was teased as a child. He was a late bloomer and when he did start growing, some parts grew more than others, leaving him even more an outcast. Lost and alone, Jervis turned to the stories and rhymes of Lewis Carroll. He idolized Carroll and became obsessed with his work. He memorized the entire works.

During his teen years, he attempted to date girls in his peer group, but was constantly rejected. Over time, he came to believe that he needed to meet someone like Alice, someone innocent and young. After he finished college, he was working at a technology company as a research scientist when he met a young, blond girl on the bus named "Alice". He bonded with her, quoting Lewis Carroll to her, and ultimatly desired her. One day, she agreed to come with him. He attempted to make love to her but she rejected him as well. He finally raped and killed her. Her body was found months later.

Since then, he has begun stalking any young, blond girl name Alice he can find, befriend them, and attempt to seduce him. When they turn down his sexual advances, he rapes and kills them, deeming them "fake" Alice's. He is determined to find a "TRUE" Alice.

He has converted his apartment into a Wonderland, choosing his furniture carefully, buying stuffed animals and as many posters of illustrations as he can. He is the worst type of fan boy. His "Mad Hatter" costume was custom made for him by his mother, believing it to be a Halloween costume. He uses it to allow himself to fully enter into his delusion.

So there we go, I think that will fit into Nolan's world. No mind control, just gritty, dark, realism. Of course, if this character appeared in the films, I think he would be in the opening scene, a Bond-esque style opening

She's come up about twice in this thread but what about Christina Hendricks as Poison Ivy?

cor blimey she is stunning!!!!! someone mentioned cole hauser as black mask, i think thats a great choice!! cole hauser is very underrated i loved him in pitch black

Jesus, OwlBoy, that's a fantastic choice (visually speaking).

She's a great actress too if you've ever seen her in Firefly or Mad Men

I am Pro Christina Hendricks as Ivy. She looks the part, and can actually act!

Mos Def as The Riddler. As a rapper turned actor he has been quite impressive and has paid his dues
