The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

what If we had Lex luthor in Gotham... I don't have a reason for him being there yet, but the idea stuck me as I slept.

i doubt very seriously that we'll see mad hatter in the next few bat-films because Depp is playing him in the burton alice in wonderland flim...

but i would love to see him...

I'm sorry but yes it does. In reality, yes of course it was based on the comics... It would be beyond stupid to say other wise, but that is not what my point is. My point is that this joker is written as a real life person, like Jack the Ripper or Ted Bundy or Charles Manson and not a comic book villain. Which is awesome!
This is not at all what was in your original post. In any case, I'd say TDK Joker was even less a depiction of a "real life person", considering how this take was an absolute monstrous entity that could not be stopped. He brought an entire metropolitan city down to it's knees within days, conceived plans that were flawless, and had a supernatural aura in how he would always be one step ahead of everyone. I don't know what exactly is so realistic about that, because the Nolan's certainly didn't write him to be on the same level as Bundy and Manson. I think it was Jonah himself that noted in an interview that there was an intention to place Joker as a higher echelon of evil. Above human standards, like the Norse god, Loki.

Well thats not what you said at all. You said "is meant to be the first, the original, the real deal" not implying realistic joker but the first and true portrayal of the joker. But at least your clear now I guess
Yup. Thank you.

It'd only make sense if it was a crossover with Superman. Otherwise, Lex doesn't have any business there. Batman has his own rogues gallery that deserve to be on film first.

If a person is real then he is the first. Take me for instance I am the real Mark Strange. If someone wrote a book about me… Which I find unlikely at this point lol… then that book would be a characterization of me… not ME.

Heaths Joker took the above principle and turn on its head. Watching him, I felt that this IS the Joker rather then an interpretation of the joker. I believe this is what was intended; if not, it was a great accident.

About Lex in Gotham I was just tossing it out there. I never expected someone to take it seriously.

Briana Evigan for Selina Kyle..yes i know she was in that Step Up movie, but she was also in the video for "Numb" by Linkin Park and i really liked her in that. Plus, she fits the mold of Nolan's "left field" casting choices. Just a thought

What like in No Man's Land where he buys up parts of Gotham to rebuild it?

A music video? You want this chick to play the leading female character because you liked her in a Linkin Park video? Are you f'cking serious. Commercials has even more cred.

Plus shes 22, shes too young, both in age and looks.

Ridiculous isnt it.

The difference between you and the Joker is your not fictional. This argument would work for George Washington but not Joker. Heath's Joker is in fact by definition an interpretation of the Joker. There is a gigantic difference between real and realistic.

By this reasoning, there is absolutely no limit to this "left-field" casting mentality. We could suggest Doc Manhattan's glowing, blue penis as a villain, and it'd theoretically be left-field.

Yes it was.

Your still not getting my argument. I just understand how someone can not get it. I'm speaking clearly, at least I think I am. Watching this Joker ( heaths Joker) is like watching the real Joker, all others, in comparison, seem like interpretations. I'm not speaking reality here, only in feelings.

First = Real. Its does not matter wither the First was a real person or a character on paper; Its not a factor in the formula. The comic book joker is the first, therefore his is the real joker.

But what I’m saying is. Heaths Joker = The Perception of the Real Joker.

When you say 'the real Joker' it sounds like all you're saying all the other Jokers are fake. If you mean 'realistic', say 'realistic'.

You count being in a MUSIC video and a DANCING film qualifies as casting as one of the greatest love interests in comic book history?

Plus, her being with Bale will make him look like a pedophile.

I believe it was just the MV. Saw the MV, and wow this is acting up in the same level as Liam Neeson in Schindler's List and Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain. She should have so won the oscar.

But what I’m saying is. Heaths Joker = The Perception of the Real Joker.

Perception of the Real= Realistic

Heaths is the realistic Joker makes complete sense, but thats not what you said.

Real= the way things actually exist.

The comic Joker is the real Joker. Heath's Joker is an interpretation of the real Joker in a realistic manner.

it is YOU who are not getting MY argument
