The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

I wouldnt care if they recast Zsass and try to do something with him but I dont see Nolan retreading him. Nolan and Goyer sound like they are leaning toward a villain not yet seen, and WB will push for one thats more popular (at least in comic circles)

Yea probably. That list wasn't the villains that I expect them to use, it was just a list of people who I think could play the villains in Nolans world.

Did they say Zsass's first name in Begins? There could be two Zsass's. Maybe one is his brother or something.

Zsass was in Begins. There is no reason to make him a "brother" or another Zsass. You want to bring him back in BB3, fine - just cast the same guy.

There is no reason, though, to choose him over better Batman villains like Mad Hatter.

A new villain I would really like to see is Hush.

With Rachel dead, I would start BB3 with her funeral - allowing us to be introduced to Rachel and Bruce's childhood friend...Tommy Elliott.

I couldn't see Lee as the Penguin, Isn't Lee really tall like over six feet, even before Batman Returns the Penguin has always been short.

Woouldn't they have already had her funeral in the dark knight timeline.

For the solution to that problem, see John Rhys-Davies as Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

This board is too hung up on looks. It's about skill in acting. Movie magic can work wonders with the way a person looks.

I really don't like Hush, so I hope he's not the villain for the next one. I guess I'm really hoping for Black Mask at this point, as he would be the most relevant. I'd rather it not be Riddler or Penguin.

then can they fix my missing teth and bad eye?

... Are you kidding me?

Again, look to LOTR. I heard from somewhere that Elijah Wood is forced to wear contact lenses to correct a googly eye. Teeth and googly eyes are the least of the worries, as should be looks.

Christian Bale is only 6' tall. Batman is 6'2". So apparently, according to typical SHH logic, Bale is not suited for the role of Batman. If the movie industry went by this logic, we'd never have decent films. We'd have a bunch of fashion shows to show off superhero costumes.

Next thing you know, the actors for Twilight are going to be required to have sharp teeth to play a Vampire. :whatever:

PRESS RELEASE
"Dark Knight" Fans Want Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie in Next Batman Movie, Says Blockbuster Survey
The Riddler & Harley Quinn Are Top Picks for Villains

Last update: 12:04 a.m. EST Dec. 6, 2008
NEW YORK, NY, Dec 06, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- As the Dec. 9 DVD release of "The Dark Knight" approaches, fans have casting picks for director Christopher Nolan should he create another Batman film. According to a survey conducted by Blockbuster Inc., movie fans are hoping to see Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie play starring roles. The villains that fans would most like to see Batman take on are The Riddler and The Joker's therapist turned girlfriend Harley Quinn.
"Both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are actors who can bring a Batman villain to life in the complex, realistic style that have made Nolan's films so popular," said Keith Leopard, director of film product for Blockbuster Inc. "It would be exciting to see what they could do with The Riddler's compulsive clue-giving and Harley Quinn's transformation from brilliant therapist to psychotic criminal."
Other top picks from movie lovers for the next Batman film's villains were Cat Woman, The Penguin and tough guy Bane. Favorite actors to play roles like these included Natalie Portman, Edward Norton and Keira Knightley.
Until a new movie is created, fans can get their Batman fix by heading to a local BLOCKBUSTER(R) store or visiting Blockbuster.com to rent or buy the "Dark Knight" DVD on Tuesday, Dec. 9. "The Dark Knight" is currently the highest grossing movie of 2008 in North America and worldwide, and it is the second highest grossing movie of all time domestically.

As an anti Batman, Norton would make an interesting Bane. Everyone would ***** to high hell that he isn't 300 lbs though.

I hope they don't mean Angelina Jolie as Harley Quinn that would suck.

8. Viggo Mortensen
9. Kevin Spacey
10. Clive Owen
3. Natalie Portman
4. Edward Norton
5. Keira Knightley
6. Daniel Day-Lewis

what characters are these actors supposedly up for?

i dont know maybe the league of rest of bruces old freinds from before
"money and jewelry now. i said jewelry" bam

Viggo Mortensen would be awesome as Deathstroke or Deadshot. Clive Owen is probably down as Black Mask there.

I've already posted my ideas for Deathstroke, I think Viggo would be absolutely perfect as a cold blooded ninja to match and maybe even beat Batman.

I think Viggo would be excellent as either Deadshot or Black Mask. For Black Mask my favourites would be Josh Brolin or Viggo Mortensen.

Yea my pic for Black Mask is Brolin. As long as he can get rid of that heavy Texan accent. :woot:

Yea it could sound cool, but Roman is a native of Gotham. Gothamites don't speak with Texan accents.

George W. Bush is a native of Connecticut and they surely don't speak with Texan accents. Actually it might be funny (but a little to obvious), to do something similar, where Sionis lived in Gotham and moved to Texas for 10 years and came back with an accent.

Penguin: Christopher Lee

Christopher Lee, though immeasurably awesome, is 6' 5" tall and 86 years old. He could be a brilliant Ra's al Ghul in need of the Lazarus Pit, but he couldn't play The Penguin.
