The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

:hehe: Yea, like we want 10 villains in it! Madness.

What villains do you want in the next one anyway Majik?

Well, I'm always wanting for more characters to make their appearance in movies, and I tend to like when some of them team up/work together.

I'd love to see Dr. Harleen Quinzel as the new Jonathan Crane type character in BB3, sort of like Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever, but aiding the police in getting inside the psyche of Batman. Played of course by Marley Shelton.

Riddler is also a fave choice of mine for one of the main villains. I sort of liked the idea as him as an specialist from the FBI or whatever it was, and he's also aiding and working with the police on catching Batman. He would go by Edward Nygma as well, not that stupid Nashton crap. And I think it would be interesting for him to have opposing views with Harley on Batman. I would want him played by Jude Law or Stuart Townshend.

And of course, I'd want to bring in Catwoman. Rachel's dead, the other loves are Batmans are great in their own way, but none come close to Catwoman. I don't like the Dominatrix crap or the relation to Falcone, I was always a fan of TAS where she was a mix of an animal rights activist without being PETA crazy and Robin Hood. I would want her to be played by either Rachel Weisz or Winona Ryder.

For the main big threat, I would want Black Mask. Sort of want him to parallel Bruce, as since Batman is now on the run, he see's what a billionaire playboy can be without any honor or a belief in justice, and show Batman he can't stay on the run, that the city needs him, and he needs to make the police see it again. I would want him to be played by Clive Owen.

By the end, Batman would take care of Black Mask and Riddler, Catwoman would still be loose, and Harley would have been having intimate sessions with Joker throughout the movie off screen with hints here and there. For the cliffhanger, I would want Batman to start dealing with more super powered villains, and take on some of his sidekicks, as I am a full supporter of the main Bat-family.

Nice choices and ideas there.

You mean have Harley as a sorta psychological profiler helping the GCPD? But maybe with a dark secret? Interesting angle. And I like the idea of her and Nygma clashing, would that go beyond their work with the police?

And yea that is how I'd use Catwoman in a film, more similar to TAS. Definitely.

I forgot about Clive Owen for a sec there. I think he is great and I would imagine if he got to play a villain and really let loose he could cook up something really special.

Pretty much. As for beyond clashing at work, I think it could be good as well.

Awesome. I hate how everyone wants to make everything relate to Batman as close as they can. Gotham is a big city. It's entirely possible for a Catwoman to exist in his world without relating to Falcone.

He was originally my choice for Two-Face before Aaron Eckhart, but he'd fit Black Mask and other Bat-villains as well.

deadshot-?????????-i did like the way he was handeled in gotham knight
"shoot your mouth off now!"

Yeah I confess, Vin is definately a place holder on that list. and also as a 2nd choice for Hatter (as if we'll ever see him on screen anyway)... Noah Taylor

When the thread originally started somebody suggested Vin for the role of Killer Croc... I think that'd be killer indeed.

Agreed. Very much agreed. Would make for a psychologically disturbing villain, which is perfect for these films. I think people don't like him because pedophilia is obviously a touchy subject. But that is why it could be quite inspired and ballsy to use him in a comic book film.

Yeah... I think so too... I would just ask for more than we got from Scarecrow.

I love these ideas (especially the Edward and Quinn ones), but I just wonder if it would be too much to fit into one movie.

3. Poison Ivy/Pamela Isley (Christina Hendricks)

I don't think it's too much at all. If anything, compare it to BB.
Character size-wise:
Black Mask would be the Ra's Al Ghul(Neeson)
Catwoman would be the Rachel
Riddler would be the Ducard
Dr. Quinsel would be the Scarecrow(+ Zsasz maybe)

Chris Kattan? Really?

People have to give comedic actors credit....

Comedy is hard to do. Look at a lot of "comedic" actors that have stepped out of their comfort zones and delivered creepy, gritty, dramatic, performances.

Jim Carrey in The Number 23, Man in the Moon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Truman Show

Robin Williams in The Night Listener, Insomnia, and One Hour Photo.

Robert Downey Jr. went from SNL cast member to star in Chaplin, Goodnight and Goodluck, The Soloist, etc.

- Hugh Laurie from House Md. started out as a comedian.
- Anthony Anderson from The Departed and Law & Order started with comedies.

Point is, there are a lot of guys who were silly, comedic actors who when they first came into a dramatic role, people said "what?"...but it ends up working... a lot of the time.

Even Michael Keaton was Mr. MOM and Beetlejuice...hell WILL FERREL, the king of dumb, stupid and outlandish comedies....NOT TO MENTION Kattan's cast mate and fellow head bumper in the Night at the Roxbury, delivered a great dramatic performance in Stranger than Fiction that had critics impressed.
"It has a nifty premise and outstanding performances from Ferrell"-Jack Matthews, New York Daily News.
"Will Ferrell delivers a moving and surprisingly delicate" -Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post
"features fine performances from Will Ferrell"-Todd McCarthy, Variety
"This is a Ferrell you've never seen before, nailing a role that calls for breakneck humor in the final race against the clock and touching gravity in the love scenes with Gyllenhaal." -Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

If this SNL funny man can deliver the goods, why not Kattan?

My second pick is Andy Serkis.

I've got absolutely nothing against comic actors (especially comedy is one of the genres I'm attempting to get into). I have no problem with the fact that he's a comic actor. I have a problem with the fact that he's a joke of an actor.

We have only ever seen him do silly, over acted comedy. We haven't seen his turn into a serious role. I would have faith in him. Not to carry a film as the sole villain, but to take a part about as large as Falcone in Batman Begins, yeah- I think he could handle the role as a creepy, sadistic pedophile.

And he wasn't even that good in those "silly, over acted comedy" roles. I'd give him a big, "hell no."
