On a side note.... This game seems like it's going to be quite long. I'm not even out of Chapter two yet and I think I've been playing it for about 10-12 hours (yesterday and today) and I'm pretty sure there are 12 chapters.

I've heard its around 20 hours but I didn't believe it. Wow that is a long game for one of this genre.

Updated articles say Cox was being technical...since it's not David, aka Snake...but actually Gabriel dressed like Snake.

Still. Pics of the costume is a must. I wonder which Solid Snake outfit it is. MGS1, MGS2 or MGS4?

There wont be any bonus suits sadly. Its only the headband and solid-eye patch. There are pics around to prove it on the Castlevania Dungeon website.

Very dissapointing.

Not back in the day. Most games use to be quite lengthy. I just hope more games start getting longer again. I am paying 60 bucks now.

But hopefully tonight I can play some.

...that's disappointing. Not really an outfit, either.

I think when I was a kid Castlevania II took me MONTHS to beat.

Stupid night time...

Demo's good, and I'll get the game eventually, but IMO the best 3D Castlevania is still Lament of Innocence, which is ridiculously underrated.

The demo was alot of fun, I thought. I think it's a buy as soon as the price drops to $40 for me.

I dunno, I keep hearing that all non-sidescroller versions sucked until now with Lords of Shadow. Castlevania 64 was the only 3D version I've tried...and that one was scary bad. I wanted to like it so much, too.

Dude, it is GREAT.
Trust me on this one.

If anything, it's a great companion piece to Lords of Shadow.

OK I bought this game and I'm really really confused about something. When you grab an enemy and you see those circle things, what are you supposed to? Mindless button mash? Occasionally it will pummel the enemy, other times he just throws it??

2ndly, I"m on the Bog troll boss or whatever it is, after you get him dizzy what are you supposed to do? I jump on him, those circle things show up again, and I"m not sure what I'm supposed to do? I button mash, I press the hold button again, I press the attack button, the strong attack button, but it doesn't do anything; instead the troll just grabs you and throws you to the ground, then hits you.

There's no instructions in the game itself so any help would be appreciated.

Hit the X button as it lines up with the circle.

A-ha. I'll try that. Other times, the circle shows up and you're supposed to mash the button? It's always the little things that confuse me in the game.

Just beat
Dark Lord of the Lycans...

This game is getting pretty darn tough, even on normal it feels like it's hard mode...

How are the platforming sections? I've seen some people complain about it.

I've honestly had zero issues with any platforming...or anything else. Then again, I'm not looking for things to complain about, and I think many gamers do anymore...

I'm nearing the end of Chapter II but I am really annoying about a few things in this game:

1. Strange camera Angles with no ability to rotate camera. Not since Resident Evil have I been so annoyed by this.
2. Extremely Linear Gameplay (barely any opportunity to explore)
3. Too many damn scrolls that barely have any value.
4. Sometimes when you are hanging on to a wall trying to jump to the other side, you have to be at an exact point, otherwise your character can't jump or lean in any direction.

I know exactly how this game will pan out for me. I'm going to get near the last boss, be forced to play through each of the older levels looking for hidden upgrades for my weapons, and extra gems just so I can beat this game. For hardcore fans I guess this is not a problem, but this seems entirely redundant to me.

Played the demo and really liked it. I keep reading that it has almost nothing to do with the original Castlevania games. So is the game worth the $59.99 or is it more of a "wait for the price drop" title? It looks amazing from what I can tell, and I've heard it's a nice lengthy game. Is there any reference to the Belmonts or anything like that?

I'm waiting for a price drop. They happen pretty quickly now.

Alternatively, Toys R Us has a Buy 2, Get 1 free on video games this week. So if there are 2 other new games you want, you can basically get it for $40.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll take advantage of that sale and do the buy 2 get one free deal.
