I understand that the comic book characters are based/ inspired from Norse Mythology but why is it hard for some ppl who get both that have issues with the names...for instance, Hela. In norse myth its Hel. Just wish i could explain things better to ppl about the differences between the two...i mean theres not much to it really. So what? They added an a at the end of Hel. I dont see why its a problem. It is what it is...its the way she was created based of of the Norse Goddess. Ask Jack Kirby. Lol
Some sources call the original Norse goddess Hela rather than Hel anyway, Marvel didn't make that up. If people are looking for mythological accuracy in any Marvel comics or movies then they're definitely barking up the wrong tree, Hela and most of the other mythology based Marvel characters (including Thor and Loki) are vastly different to their Norse deity counterparts.

Looks like Thor has had some lumps taken out of him here, he's all battered and bruised. Yay. #TeamHelat:
More importantly, just looking at her demonstrated power level, she's nothing approaching the level of "Can crush Mjolnir".
Also, the whole 'godkiller' thing is not some special secret power Diana has. She's the 'godkiller', because *she* is a god. "Only a god can kill a god", apparently. Her being a god(dess) meant that when she killed Ares, he stayed dead permanently-ish. She still needed to actually have the power to kill him in the first place.

"I am not a queen or a monster... I am THE GODDESS OF DEATH."
This is in the running for one of the top character designs ever.
Im grinning and i cant help it. That list is everything! Lol. Gawd she just kills it.
Hela definitely has a lot to do in this movie. They just couldn't waste Cate Blanchett's Hela.
From what i am seeing i think she's gonna be crown the best MCU villain after the movie comes out. She just owns everything.
Well from everything we have seen of he so far there's absolutely no waste. It's just epic shot after epic shot and with some really high calibre acting. She has plenty to do...She better hurry up and do it.

- Takes down all the Valkyries.
- Arrives on Earth and destroys Thor hammer.
- Catches on to Loki on the bifrost while chasing Thor.
- Arrives on Asgard and single handed destroys their army.
- Greets the arrival of Thor team and fights them.
- Has another 1x1 against Thor with Gungnir.
- Probably unleashes Surtur and has a final battle with a powered up Thor.
...
I'm looking forward to see how Hela and Skurge interact with each other, I always assumed that Skurge would be allied with Hela prior to the events of the film so it's interesting to find out that he only does so after she invades Asgard. That must be an awkward and terrifying work relationship, to know that if you don't obey your mistress, she'll just kill your ass with one touch.![]()
This was my favorite line in the trailer, and this gif set made it infinitely better. Well done sir.![]()
That is the dream couple, the power couple in the MCU, and Stark looks so horrified in the poster because he knows he is about to get overshadowed as the main ladies man in town.I have no worries about Hela & what her future holds. They picked a terrific actress for the part & it would be a damn shame if they wasted that talent in one movie.
Every single thing I've seen & heard from her so far has been spot on. They would be fools to not keep her for future films.
Her & Thanos is the romance I want to see in IW/A4!!

Alas, wish I could take credit but that belongs to the clever individual on tumblr who posted it.![]()

Kinda spits in the face of those that say that some of the more outlandish comic book costumes can never translate well to live action, doesn't it? I never thought we'd actually see Hela in her full comics regalia in a live action movie, but here we are and she looks incredible.t:
I'm taking inspiration from HD in the main thread and posting my top 10 trailer moments, Hela style. Which is basically all the Hela moments, but ranked.I would post gifs too, but my internet connection is being an utter a-hole at the moment.
1. Chasing Thor and Loki through the Bifrost, throwing a sword at Loki (with an awesome wicked grin) and causing him to fall. I don't know why, but this little moment is just brilliant to me.
2. "Ahh, I've missed this!" swagger while walking through a sea of dead Asgardian soldiers that she's just killed.
3. "I thought you'd be pleased to see me..."
4. Blocking Gugnir with jazz hands.
5. Sexy transformation from goth Hela to armored Hela.
6. Taking on all the Valkyries and totally winning.
7. "I'm not a queen or a monster... I'm the GODDESS OF DEATH."
8. Having Thor so beat that has him the floor (battered and bruised) with her hand around his throat.
9. Spinning around at ultra high speed and dispatching hundreds of weapons from her body like the utter badass she is.
10. "Asgard is dead... and it will be reborn in my image." Who wouldn't want that?
Honourable mention: Destroying Mjolnir. I know that was in the first trailer but it's so epic that it deserves a mention here.t:
