It can be used to block elements as well, like that nag screen. All you have to do is right click the uBlock icon and block that element which keeps coming up.

This is the solution, folks. I made sure to give this some time on my own browsers to really test it, but after 36hrs I can confirm I've not seen this new overlay anymore.

The block-element feature has to be used on top of whatever adblocker you already have in place.

What's really annoying that the same window keeps popping up on another message board I use frequently which now uses the same forum software, meaning HFBoards. So far it allows me to click the "Continue without supporting us".

Which adblock are you using? I've got uBlock Origin and over the past week I've only had to reblock another element once. There's technically three components to the whole ad, are you certain you've blocked the one which encompasses the whole overlay?

Now that I have figured out how to block elements with my ad blocker, the site is usable again.
The thing is, if the ads were not so intrusive and did not interfere with the functionality of the site, I would allow them to display.
But they don't, so I don't!

i'm sorry. i've been out of state for work so i didn't have access, but i do send up your concerns and screenshots above my paygrade. all the feedback helps. especially when screenshots and/or links to threads with really bad ad problems so we can let the techies know about those

I'm using ABP and Ultimate. It's weird actually, the page will grey out without the box popping up, and then if I refresh it either does the same or acts perfectly fine. Seems random really, but it's not a steady fix.

Also, seems like at any time there are 90-100 ads being blocked on the main page alone, which is rather ridiculous.

The reload amount is getting worse. It was taking me 3 reloads to get the "Continue Without Supporting Us" link, now it's 5.

This won't be the first board to die out of greed. Has the board offered ad free for supporting members yet. In any case same thing happens because fresh blood doesn't even try the board with ads pushing you off

I don't understand it. I see no ads at all. I have a chromebook laptop. I opened the box, took it out, and started using it. I didn't put anything like adblock on to it.

So I'm trying the site with AdBlock off and it seems there are ads on the bottom which were those clickbait ones that tell you about secret health tricks and you won't believe what this celebrity was really like. There appears to be a Flash-based ad that's trying to appear, but Edge turned Adobe Flash off for security concerns.

So I turned it back on and bam it's blocking 131 ads now. Also the site is running much smoother now.

i cannot stress enough how important screen shots, links, and which threads you are having the issues in are. by supplying this info, we can send it higher up and let tech support check out any issues.

The ad couldn't load, so I don't know which one it was, only a notification from Edge telling me it turned off Flash Player to prevent it.

This is really messed up, I was starting to visit this board on the regular again, but your ads not letting me read the site is incredibly counterproductive. It shouldn't have to be something I have to do every page refresh. You guys have to notice the page activity dropping.

dont disable your adblocker. you do not have to do that. there is a place you can click to not do that.

To add to CC's post.... if the "Continue without supporting" link isn't appearing on the anti-adblock pop up window (at the bottom of it), refresh the page (may have to refresh a few times) and it should eventually show up (that tends to be what I have to do on my phone)
