From what I understand, in the US, if you can't afford competent advocates you are screwed.

You’d be surprised. A rich black actress in her position would’ve been made an example of. Racism is much thicker than money.

Probably more likely as a rich black actress she would have had a year instead of 2 months or several years.

But unless you’re OJ Simpson or Michael Jackson, being black and rich in court grants you nothing lol.

I think rich and famous adds quite a bit because then you can hire an amazing attorney or attorneys as OJ and Jackson had. Add Chris Brown, Sean Combs and Jay-Z. Combs got nothing for shooting in a club while his non-famous friend received 9 years. Hell, Jay-Z stabbed a guy and got a slap on the wrist.
