Oh my stars and garters!

Ok, DC and Michael Wilkinson. You're move (i.e Cassandra Cain).

I can't recommend The Client enough. Priest's run in general is well loved by most who read it, and I think that they'll finally collect the rest of the run in trades after issue 12. Hopefully they collect Panther's Quest that was written by Don McGregor in Marvel Comics Presents during the 80s.

I liked the first Hudlin arc as well, but it seems his run gets a mixed reception.

Let's just keep posting that beautiful, beautiful concept art on every page of this thread. I want that gorgeous costume to be the last thing I see before going to bed tonight.

I hope for him to rock it both ways. There's plenty else to separate him from Batman.

Personally, I love BP with cape; it makes him seemed majestic and someone who belongs to royalty.

That concept art is indeed utterly utterly perfect. If he had a quarter-cape (one that doesn't quite reach his lower back) that comes over from the one shoulder, I think that'd add to his 'regalness' outside of fighting scenes.

This is a better look, aside from the ears that are too similar to Batman. The Dracula cape and the gold jewelry is an intimidating look.

I think they're going to treat Black Panthers cape like they treat Thor's helmet. Only show it once for ceremonial reasons

OMG God I didn't think anyone would probably know Ridley. He could do it. The man is a good writer and he could do it without any political messages and black american struggles pre civil rites.

I knew Ridley was intelligent, but I didn't know a purple space dragon could write!

All jokes aside, I'm very happy with Boseman's casting. I am very excited to see this Black Panther movie already. :)

I like that the suit in the concept art has a "weight" to it. It looks sturdy. I wonder how damage resistant they will make it? If it's "Vibranium" weaved then maybe it's bullet proof ?

What are the chances Hudlin is involved in this?
I don't know if his stuff really is as bad as I felt it was, but since I read him after reading what Priest contributed to the character I just couldn't abide by what I he did.

I'll repost someone else's breakdown of why what Hudlin did was crap.

I bring him up since Feige did mention he was meeting with him in the future and I'd hate to think Hudlin would have anything to do with the character's cinematic introduction.

I'd bet so. On all accounts.

I think he debuts in Über-man... god people are stupid

I'm glad they ditched the cape. It will help them cut down on Batman comparisons for one thing, and also, having a cape makes him look less like a panther.

I do think when this movie finally comes around and it's being advertised on TV and stuff, we're gonna have to deal with a lot of b****ing about the name. Outside of the CBM context, "Black Panther" has a whole other historical context, and since it's Marvel's first African-American headliner, there's gonna be some ~talk~ about that name in the media, I'm sure. So in other words, best get used to the social media idiots like the one posted above. There's probably gonna be a lot of that between now and 2017.

About as annoying as the idiots who thought DC had changed Green Lantern from black to white just for the GL movie. Best to ignore them and move on.

So, I've heard people say that they think they're going to skip his origins, but I don't think thats true. During the press event, Kevin Feige called him "a little bit of a prince, who might become a little bit of a king". I doubt they would kill T'chaka off in CA:CW, so I assume he will still be the Prince of Wakanda. Unless of course they do his origin in flashbacks later. I wonder if he will have his powers yet.
