WHAT EVer happen to the opening with the walls of the fortress of solitude ? i remember some one saying they'd do a recap of it with cave painting ? may be on some other board i guess

LOL, that was ryanraine... one of those BS "insiders"...

Ah, ryanraine...the boards just arent the same without him.

I hope he makes a little kid read the comics aloud like donner did. that was nice.

Sounds like wishful thinking for Smallville: The Movie.

Didn't they do this in Spiderman 2?
i dont see how this is the same as Spider-Man 2 which had alex ross paintings of exact stills from the movie, while Superman will have an actual comic book opening with comic text.

I think some of you are jumping to conclusions again. I think the Chew art will basically just retell the origin of Superman in comic book form, not recap everything that happened in STM and S2. It's been said you wont have to watch STM or S2 to understand what's going on in this movie, that it will stand on it's own.

What about the pics that show Superman The movie in Shuster/30`s stlye art, from the same artist of the openning credits, in the blogs. Yes, it will be a recap of at least Superman the movie.

Sounds like a Smallville fan that cant let go. I doubt they were ever going to use cave paintings at the start.

No..i should be more informative... what i mean is replacing scenes of the original two movies and inserting the new Actors to cover the original actors.

Does that make sense..like the helicopter scene now with Routh and Bosworth.

I think Singer went on record and said he wouldn't do that. I think I just read it in the new Wizard, but I might be wrong about where I heard it.

It is VERY similar.

Yeah seems kind of...I dunno...unoriginal or something. But could be cool...depends on what this guy is drawing. I want the credits to pretty much cover the main points leading up to this film.

I don't know...It could be cool.

Now I seeing this movie as this... Homage, moreso than an actual full-out movie.

Are you serious? You want them to digitally superimpose Routh over Reeve's head for scenes from Superman TM, as well as other characters with the newer actors?

they are using comic book pictures?

ok...i'm not getting through here...

according to new reports they will be comic book drawings..what i'm saying is they will "DRAW" Routh and Bosworth in the scene...nonething shot..it will be a drawing!

I think the comic stuff only concerns baby Kal being sent from Krypton.

Ok, thank god. But your wording was confusing. Usually when someone hears stuff like "replacing" and "inserting", they can't help but to think digital manipulation.

Yeah i'm sorry..i typed it pretty quickly...

had to get my lois and clark season 2

I read in reports (which was taken down again I think) that the opening will feature a black and white intro set in the begining of the 40's or something..

We see three kids on a their bikes (summertime)... They are coming down a city road with stores on both sides.. Suddently the two of the kids make the third kid fall of his bike as they push him.. The two other kids continues down the road laughing.. The kid gets up, and reveals bruses on his legs. Right in front of him he sees a comic book store (named something I can't remember).. He stares at it for a few, and than reaches into his pocket pulling up a few dimes.. He walks over to the door, graps the handle and walks inside. A little bell rings as he walks through the door, as it had done for many years.. The store isn't that big.. On both sides of the kid there's shelfs of comic-books, and down at the end of the store, behind the counter, there's a middleaged man. He has a friendly smile as he looks at the kid glanzing at the comicbooks all displaced. The man behind the counter looks like the kind of man who had just barely survived the depression of the war, and found this holy comicbook store a place of strength (I think it was something along the lines of that!) The kid sees a comic book that stands out from the rest. This comic book is in colour, as everything else is black and white (remember that).. He takes it down looking at it as if it was something MORE than just a comicbook.. Slowly he walks over to the counter with his eyes staring at this comicbook.. He puts it down on the counter in front of the gentle man smiling. The kid looks up at the man who's giving him a satisfying look, as if he's agreeing that this very comicbook is something to pay close attention to.. They both look down at the comic book now, and as they do, we (the audience) zoom in on it for the first time, revealing the cover that shows something unbelievable. A man in a blue suit, with a flappering red cape and an 's' on the chest is holding a car over his head! On the right upper corner it reads June 1938.. We now see the kid turning the cover over, revealing the first page, as we zoom futher in.. We see the Daily Planet, and we zoom even furtherer in until the comicbook's pages are all that's within the frame..
Here we hear some text beeing read up for us (something along the lines of what was heard in STM).. Than we zoom into the night sky up towards the stars, and from there on the superman theme starts fading in, and the opening credits begin!

PS: The images within the comic-book are propobly the art of this Chan guy.. That's what I believe they mean when saying that his work will be featured in the film.. I dont think it'll be within the opening credits (similar to what they did for spidey2!).. The art will come before the credits open up.

bah, first the shirt ripping, then that?? Why are SUPERMAN movies always copying all the good ideas from the Spider-Man???

yeah, i know you'll hate me for saying that

i havent seen any of work of this guy .

Is he good?
