Long ago when she went crazy in West Coast Avengers it was established that her powers were altering reality, not probabilities. And yes spectre, Chaos Magic was said to not exist, that's why it surprises me that Joey Q now says it does exists...

I always assumed Wanda's powers worked a little like Amadeus Cho's, in that she sits there and calculates the state of all things in her reality vs. what she wants to happen, rewrites the equation with her magical powers, and (for example) changes 1,000,000:1 ratios into 1:1. It made her extremely powerful, but gave her limits.

But then someone had to say "no, she has the power to F reality in the ass with her metaphysical rod," Bendis.

For much of her existence she could not even choose what happened. She simply made all things equally likely and waited to see what happened. She was pretty weak. Her magic was fairly weak also.

Yeah, I always thought of Wanda as mid-level at best. Her power, as I understood it, was just a step above Longshot or the Black Cat's (when she had powers).

For Christ sakes... it wasn't Bendis... John Byrne said it tons of years before in West Coast Avengers, he established she had reality altering powers and not just probabilitiy altering powers...

I've always thought of reality alteration and probability alteration as basically the same thing. You're changing real life outcomes either way.

I've always seen that explanation about a lazy way of trying to understand the reordering of the last 15 years of parker's life and what is significant and what isn't

no one cares that magic was used, it's more about trying to explain the total effects of that magic and how blatant stories where parker's relationship helped him through would cease to exist.
