Cool, but Hulk fan boyz would dislike the implication that Hulk is all that dangerous. Which is why I think that was kinda awesome.![]()
1) It's actually 90 years before, as Pilate dies 30 years after his incarceration.
2) Well, yes and no. The point of it is to play up on the idea that Gotham is cursed. That it's inherently evil and isn't worth saving, to the extent that the rise of it's monsters like Pilate, Falcone, The Joker, and so on is predestined. And it's up to the likes of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon to prove that theory wrong. Also, it's meant to be foreshadowing.
I know. But that's not exactly the point of the scene. It will make more sense when I spell everything out, but let me try and explain:
At the begining of Bruce's Journey, which will be scene through flashbacks after he arrives back in Gotham, he has no purpose. He is simply traveling the world to try and understand it and himself. When he finds his way to Asia, he meets Ra's Al Ghul, who takes him under his wing. While Bruce had already become an excelent fighter under the teutilege of Ted Grant, Ra's teaches him something more important: How to be a warrior. He teaches him how to take control of his surroundings, something Bruce has always longed for. How to think tactically and make hard descisions. How to use stealth and trickery to his advantage and gain victory. Ra's takes on the role of Bruce's mentor, as Ted Grant had before. Bruce even falls in love with Ra's' daughter, Talia. However, eventually Ra's' camp is atacked, and Bruce sides with his teacher to defend it. During the fight, Talia is shot and killed, and in his greif Bruce picks up a katana and slaughters the men who killed her. Soon afterwards, he learns that Ra's is a wanted terrorist, and that the men he (Bruce) had killed were agents of Interpol. Ra's is revealed to have been a sort of false mentor, and Bruce is heartbroken. He ventures off on his own again, barely surviving from day to day. Eventually, half starved and sickly, he is found by Henri Ducard in Paris. Ducard takes him in, feeds him, cleans him up, and makes Bruce pay him back by serving as his assistant. Ducard, you see, is a private detective and bounty hunter. In Ducard, Bruce finds a new mentor, and learn about tracking, forensics, criminology, and how to thinking like a detective. This gives Bruce new resolve, and when he has repaid Ducard in full, he heads back to Gotham.
There, inspired by seeing the movie "The Mark of Zorro" on television, and decides to become a sort of vigilante/super hero. He dons the mantle of the bat, and takes up his vigilante crusade. However, at first, he doesn't end up doing much. His first few nights, nothing happens. He simply wanders around the East End looking kind of stupid. However, eventually, he comes across a mugging, and the savage beating he gives the fellow is enough to get him noticed and give him a reputation. Soon, a few more "bat attacks" are reported in the East End and The Narrows. However, he's not completely flawless, and his arrogance almost gets him killed by The Irish Mob once and on another occasion when he decided to try and single handedly break up a meth lab in The Narrows. He soon realizes that he can't do everything himself, so he puts aside his stubbornness and decides that if he comes across a crime that he can't deal with himself and doesn't require imediate attention, he'll simply call the police. He does, however, bug the offices of several organized crime figures, the police commisioner, and the D.A. However, he's still not really helping the city as Batman. Really, he's just making himself feel better. Alfred notes this on several occasions, stating that he could do more good as Bruce Wayne than he ever could as Batman, but he doesn't listen.
He really gets his act together, however, when he meets Gordon. Gordon initially tries to arrest him, but realizes that he could be an asset if Batman grew up a little bit. The two begin working together, and Bruce starts doing some real good by less than legally investigating and gathering evidence on organized crime figures and corrupt officials, and handing the evidence "anonimously" over to Gordon. However, Alfred's still not pleased. So, he tells Bruce about an emergency company meeting that doesn't actually exist, and then takes the car into the East End. There, he takes Bruce on a forced tour of the decadence of Gotham at it's worst, and says "With all your money, all your resources, you could help to cure the disease. But all you're doing by dressing up like you did when you went to Rocky Horror Picture Show in your youth and violently assaulting people is easing the symptoms." Afterwards, somewhat reluctantly due simply to his stubbournness, Bruce begins using his wealth to help the city. He starts the Wayne foundation, giving money to soup kitchens, schools, and hospitals, organizing neighborhood watch groups and self defense classes, sponsoring entertainment and the arts, starting youth sports and artistic groups to keep kids occupied and out of trouble, and so on. While he's still Batman, because it makes him feel better, he actually becomes serious about saving the city.
Anyway, eventually, Ra's shows up with some big terrorist plot as he always does. Big fights, explosions all over the city, cops fighting off terrorist ninjas, even a cool scene where Gordon saves Robin from a group of ninjas, only to get surrounded and have his ass saved by Montoya, Bullcok, O'Harra (yes, I have Ultimate Cheif O'Harra), and the rest of the GCPD gang. The big climax of the storyline and the series itself is Bruce, not Batman as he isn't wearing the mask, but Bruce facing off with Ra's atop Wayne Tower. And Bruce shoots Ra's in the chest, twice, with Alfred's winchester. Why? Because it turns out that Bruce never really needed Ted, Ra's, or Ducard. He already had a mentor. He had Alfred. While Ted taught Bruce to be a fighter, Ra's taught Bruce to be warrior, and Ducard taught Bruce to be a detective, Alfred taught Bruce how to be a man. So, it's fitting that Bruce comes full circle and saves the day with something he got from Alfred, and not from any of the other three. And of course, Bruce then pushes Ra's off the tower, all of Ra's' ninjas look up, Bruce puts the mask back on, and there's a badass shot where Batman is highlighted by a flash of lightning and all the terrorists run scared.
MineLillian Mann... Seven-Year-Old Sorceress.
The "Protagonist" is actually her older brother. However Lillian seems to be able to make things happen. I'm not talking about hurling balls of hellfire. Ropes fray and snap. Doors blow shut. Things just seem to happen after she says her "Spells" which pretty much are simple little rhymes a seven year old would come up with. How she got her powers, I'm not really sure yet.
mineHeck, why not. and just for fun, Lillian (the reincarnated atlantean sorceress) not only can't swim yet, but is a little hydrophobic.
I was also thinking about the idea of a god being reborn into a world (kind of a classic for comics) so I decided to do instead, the rebirthing of...
Jesus Christ: Super-Hero.
Basically its Jesus who can't remember anything since he died on the cross. And him getting adjusted to the 21st century. It's not preachy or anything, but it would betray some of my religious beliefs. His super-villains would be Christian fanatics in general. as more people start believe he actually is Jesus Christ he gets on talk shows where he actually debates people. Mostly it's a bit of a laugh. inspired by parts of a couple of web-comics.
Now he wasn't always Jesus. Before that he was Harold Palmer, an RN who had family issues (Overbearing mother, wild-child younger sister, and an older brother who's about to marry a black woman (pisses off the mother)). So they have to learn to deal with the fact that the Son of God now. not to mention he helps the family... This may be crap, but again I was going for a joking look at the super-hero genre.
Geek-Out Freak-Out was my tongue in cheek look at most of the "Dark" heroes. Grace was a joke at non-powered heroes, specifically Nick Fury. and of course Lillian is a joke at Dr. Strange. This would be my "Thor"
mineBlack Sheep
Issac and Jasmin Sojurn were the world's greatest scientists, and part of the world's greatest team of adventurers. Together they had four children. Two daughters, a son, and then another daughter. The oldest is Rachel, 25, then Tanya, 22, Jacob, 18, and Angela, 15. Rachel and Tanya were tested at age 4 and proved themselves geniuses on the spot. Jacob and Angela were of average to above average intelligence. An accident when she was 9 gave Angela intelligence comperable to her sisters, as well as super-strength. At age 14 Jacob ran away from home. He was drug back several times. He was even able to manufacture enough fake ID to enlist in the army at age 15 when he ran away a second time. He was exposed when his "Uncle" Capt. Ronald Durden was walking through the barracks as a special treat to the new class. He was discharged and brought home.
At 16 he ran away again, and this time his family decided to respect his wish not to be found. He has remained lost for the last two years. Now his sisters have finally managed to hunt him down for a very specific reason. Their parents are dead and he has to inheirit his share of their multi-billion dollar industry and attend their funeral.
It's the story of four super-geniuses raised in a Fantastic Four/Johnny Quest style family now doing it for themselves. Jacob has always felt like a dissapointment to his family because of his average intelligence, but before his little sister was made a genius, he at least had Angela to commiserate with. When she gained her powers he took it as an insult and betrayl. He was very close with Angela.
Angela idolized her big brother until he started running away. She has had more difficulty than her sisters in dealing with their life style and intelligence. She's tried to continue acting normal, despite her intelligence, but fails completely.
Rachel has a serious attitude. She's smarter than not just her brother, but also most people on the planet and she knows it. Rachel has washed her hands of her younger brother, and doesn't think he deserves any of the inheritance.
Tanya is undecided on her younger brother. Due to her parents hectic lifestyles, she was always the one who was most maternal toward her brother. She knows exactly what her brother has done, the mistakes and the goals. She believes in her brother, but is rather dominated by Rachel.
The inheritance states that if they kids whant to inheirit anything, they must ALL live together for two years and make sure the company and all family interests (including a few diplomatic positions with other planets) remain strong.
MineThe Uroumai
After traveling the stars for nearly a century, a small ship has finally found the world they have been looking for. Not only is it inhabitable, but it is inhabited by beings that are genetically and physically compatible with their own. The Uroumai Tribe has fled their world when a disease destroyed their male population. It was originally a 76 member crew that set out from their home world. As they approach Earth they have a 46 member crew. none of the original piloting crew remain.
Kahsha Rinla is the Captain of the ship. She is leader of the last of her people. They have encountered other space faring races before this one, however they were not willing to co-exist. They wished to take the Uroumai as pleasure slaves. Kahsha Rinla was one of the many they managed to kidnap before the rest of the tribe rescued them. Kahsha gave birth to a daughter a gestation period later.
Rinla Minnir is the Daughter of Kahsha Rinla. she is younger than the rest of her crew by about 50 years (leaving her at just after adolesence for her species). She is also distinguishable by her purple skin tone (the rest of them have bright red tones of skin). However she does have telekinesis just like all the other members of her tribe.
MineThe Islanders
A terrorist attack has knocked out the power for more than half the country. Some power systems were so badly damaged they must be physically repaired. some of the worst afflicted by this are the inhabitants of Manhattan. Follow a group as they live on Manhattan for 3 years, adapting to life with technology, but without power.
Max Smitt: a courier who was in a high rise building when the power died. He's lived in New York for all of 3 months prior to "The Shut Down". Before this he lived in Los Angeles. He is an exceptionally well prepared person because of his father, who was a constant believer that the world was actively ending around them.
Ellie Whittamere: Pregnant receptionist in the same High rise Max was in at the time. She was too afraid to trek home by herself and after watching Max save a group of people from a stuck elevator, she begged him to walk her home, given she lived only a couple blocks from her. She's a life long New Yorker and if you value your life, don't ask who the father is. (Only 6 months along at the Shut Down)
Naseem Indira: grocery store owner. She's been in the country for ten years. She immigrated with her arranged fiance, Ahmed. Ahmed's dream was to own his own buisness and protect his community. Ahmed was a volunteer firefighter who died on Sept. 11th 2001. Naseem had been pregnant at the time, but miscarred on delivery. She's a legal citizen. She met the other two because they needed a place to stay on their trek across Manhatten. Naseem allowed them to stay in her store, which she'd taken to defending with a shotgun (Licensed).
MineOkay I just read Kingdom Come (no I'm not gonna try and redo it). But it just kinda laid a lot on me. To the point where I have to get this one idea off of my head.
Once he was a great hero. Once the world was a close to Utopia as possible. However, this hero was mortal. His age ate away at his body, and no matter how well he'd mastered his powers, they taxed his heart too much. He left. in his absence thousands thought they would fill his space. His old associates went into seclusion... Now as he lay, his final few minutes passing in a nursing home, he looks upon the one person he has left to trust. a lowly nurse's aide. A young man no one expects much from is the only one who brings comfort to the dying old man.
The old man reaches out with a withered hand that once held the strength to crush diamonds to powder. he grips the boy's wrist as the young man tries to tuck him in. "In my last moments I give to you all that I have left in the world. My strength, my spirit, my legacy..." With those words the old man expires. There is no clap of thunder, no flicker of the lights. Titanus, once the greatest champion the world knew, a hero without borders, passed from the world with an aide and silence as his only companions.
The aide was saddened by the man's passing, but not shocked or startled. He'd been present for others who passed. The old man had a DNR, so he simply pressed the call button for the nurse and covered the old man's face. He left the building feeling like he had a weight on his shoulders. He'd liked the old man. He would tell stories of the glory days of super-heroes. Days when the day would stay saved for at least a month or two. But those days were long gone now. The number of people who wanted to abuse their super-human gifts was now equal to those who wanted to use them for humanity's sake.
In the coming days the young man would discover the man had passed to him power enough to move mountains. Speed enough to out run any concord. Senses to put to shame any other possesed by beast or machine. Control over heat and cold.
MineSecret Wars V: Time Wars
A battle has begun to rage across all time and omniverse. It has gone unknown to the Exiles for over a year now. A war for dominance of the omniverse. Consider this the ultimate Crossover Event.
The Yorkes: From a reality/Time-Line where they escaped the wrath of the Gibborim by absconding to another time/space with their daughter and the daughter's bodyguard, Cretaceous, a genetically modify deinonychus. They have a small army of soldiers from every era armed with advanced technology that view them as Gods.
Iron-Lad: From a reality where he refused to become Kang the Conqueror. He fights now against versions of his older-self. He has had breif, but gruding, alliances with the Yorkes. Recently he has taken notice of the new addition to the family: Gertrude.
Kang the Conqueror: Need we really say more. This version has been fighting on and off with Iron-Lad and the Yorkes.
Campaign for Real Time (CamTim): An organization for those who have been harmed by time-travelers and their petty wars. The roster is as follows.
Rogue and Magneto: These are the parents of the Exiles first casualty, Magnus. They have vowed to find those who are responsible for their child's death and make them pay. When they managed to tag along on one of Iron Lad's jumps they begin CamTim. Magneto is actually the calm level head. Rogue is the passionate, and often violent one, enraged by the death of her son.
Magik: Illyana Rasputin from a reality where she was never got to leave Limbo. She joined the Lenshers in their fight to stop the petty wars of the Time Travelers.
Spider-Girl: yes, MC2 Spider-Girl. This is where the whole drama first comes to our attention. Iron-Lad, temporarily allied with CamTim, is fighting Kang. She is the first Hero on the scene and accidently gets dragged along when they leave. She's the one who actually names the group "Campaign for Real Time"
From there, the battle breaks into the Panoptichron and picks up the Exiles for the first time. This is how Kang manages to shake the CamTim, as the Lensherrs attack the Exiles.
Meanwhile the Yorkes sense highly advanced armor in a time-line/reality. They move to retrieve it, but do so while sneaking "the back-door". The Yorkes, who've met themselves several times over, have an agreement that they keep an "easy access" vortex in Wisconsin. That's right ladies and gentlemen. they are surprised by the resistance of the GLI. Not to mention they head to LA thinking the technology is there, only to find the Runaways waiting for them.
Finally tracking them to where they went CamTim, the Exiles, and Iron-Lad burst in as well.
mineAddition to SWV:TW, CamTim was not started by the Lensherr's. It was started by Nathaniel Richards.
Expantion for "Lillian Mann: Seven-Year-Old Sorceress
Rich and Lillian are brother and sister, separated by almost twenty years. Their parents have been deceased over a year now and Rich and Lillian are not having the best time getting along. Rich is a police officer trying to advance to detective. in his frustration he dismisses Lillian when she brings him an ornate box. She takes it back to her room and the carving of a snake on top begins to speak to her.
Lillian has found, buried in the local dump, the object that inspired the legends of Pandora's box and the Garden of Eden. This object contains demons of many different varieties, most of them immaterial, but millions of demons in there means that there are enough tangible demons to give the city a scare. Just as in the story of Pandora's box the last object to emerge from the box is not a demon or an ill... it's hope. In this case, magical abilities. Lillian, the one who opened the box, is charged with filling it back up and resealing it, and so she has been granted the power to do so.

The Few and Proud
(my Hero-verse). A massive alien invasion, only barely put down by super-heroes has started the united states government thinking on it's weaknesses toward super-human attacks. Refusing to be protected by well intentioned civilians any longer they are getting organized. A Company, 1st Brigade, 1st Super-Human Division, United States Marine Corps. Or simply "Ace Company". 250 marines were selected specifically on genetic and psychological backgrounds. They were given bio-chemical treatments to enhance their strength and healing capabilities, genetic treatments to enhance their senses, and high tech equipment to allow flight and superior firepower.
They aren't just super-heroes, they are U.S. Marine Corps. trained soldiers, with super-human abilities. They stand ready to fight their country's battles on a whole new frontier. OoRah!
GySgt. Daniel Tolwin: At age 50, he was planning on enjoying his retirment until he died, a fairly solid plan, and well deserved for one who survived several nightmarish tours of places he's no longer allowed to speak of. He is tapped to come out of retirement and help lead the Company. He has a wealth of experience, and is probably the most seasoned officer in the company, commisioned or non-commissioned.
Capt. Brian Collis: at age 18 he entered MCROTC at he went to college to attain his Juris Doctorate. His father had been an abusive Army Col. that was usually never punished due to his rank. most of his childhood he idealized super-heroes. When his father was finally made to answer for his crimes, it was not a super-hero who caused him to do so: It was the Provost Marshall's Office. He decided to join the Marines and become a lawyer, making sure that all were held accountable, even the high ranking. He was tapped for the assignment for his positive psychological profile.
Cpl. Anita Juarez: She has had to fight for every ounce of respect she has earned. She came from a poor neighborhood where women were either eye candy or breeding stock basically. Determined never to let anyone treat her the way her mother was treated (her mother was a prostitute) she vowed to become stronger than anyone. She has a long criminal record, mostly for assault. No one touches without her permission.
Salvation: Vanguard City is one with many super-villains and sadly, few heroes (only a handful of non-powered ones). Until the day the man in gold and white appeared. He called himself "Salvation". His powers seem to include solid light projections. He can be seen at almost any time of day or night scouring the city for those in need of saving. In fact, it would almost seem as if he had no other life...
The truth is he gave up his other life. He was born Gregory Irvine. And graduating high school was perhaps the most impressive achievement that will ever be writ to that name. He fell into alcohol and began to mooch heavily off of his well-to-do parents. When he was 21, he got so drunk he stole a car and crashed it into a minivan. The driver of the minivan and his wife were fine. the three kids in the back were not. Gregory was arrested and sent to prison. a year later, a year sober, he was being transfered to another unit. An object came crashing out of the sky as a super-villain did battle in orbit above the city with an alien vessel. a pair of manacles fell in front of him. He heard them calling "Let him who woud fight for justice, step forward. Let him who would stand for right, step forward. Let he who will not rest until evil is destroyed, step forward." drawn by the telepathic message of the manacles he moved forward to touch them. The clamped upon his wrists and he was transformed. Now he uses his powers to try and attone for the evil he can now see he did.
I'm not sure if the reformation of the character is a product of his own guilt, or if it comes from the manacles. I know they are a prototype weapon for an interplanetary military force (GLC-knock off).
All of this is also mine.I've hearby started a new universe. My "Yeah-Right-Verse". Mostly a tongue in cheek look at super-heroes. The first inhabitants were my "Geek-Out" heroes. and now...
Grace Van Burenn: Agent of the IRS.
Grace is a normal IRS agent, but strange things keep happening to her. She's been in (and ended) three terrorist hostage situations. She's hunted down and stopped four serial killers. She's foiled five super-villain world domination plans. And she never means to. She's got two GREAT skills aside from her mathematical prowess and deductive ability that got her into the IRS. When she started dating, her police captain father bought her a gun and taught her sharp shooting, as a child she was so clumsy that her mother enrolled her in Parkour classes (they are to fleeing what martial arts are to fighting).
She has a rather geeky sense of humor and would be much happier if she could be just like all the other IRS agents in her building. Has a hard time talking to men, not just because of the fact that a few are intimidated by her accomplishments, but also because she's never been on a date that ended well. She's extremely intelligent and technically a genius.
