"How it Really Started"

They idealized him, Tony realized as he sat in his office one day. All of Bruce's friends idealized him. They saw him as the Dr. Jekyl to the Hulk's Mr. Hyde. The truth was... Dr. Jekyl was addicted to Mr. Hyde. Bruce was a man, like the rest of them. He was weak like the rest of them. He felt sick with himelf again as he thought on the idea of exiles his friend to the outter reaches of space... then he did what he always did when that feeling came. he played the same video he always watched.

the screen was static at first, then filled with the unshaven half dressed form of Bruce Banner. "This is Dr. Bruce Banner. date... unknown. I haven't been able to look at a calender since I regained conciousness." Bruce ran his hands through his hair. "He's been having a tantrum again. God forgive me for what he's done. This is not what I wanted. This life..." Bruce looked to be on the edge of tears in his journal.

"I've spent almost every waking moment since becoming this mostrosity trying to cure myself. I've failed at every juncture." He wiped his face as he shuffled his notes around. "I've tried a few methods of suicide... they don't work. Even a bottle of sedatives... He always wakes up in time for his healing abilities to save us." he finally seemed to find the page he was looking for. "I have, however, thought of a solution... Exile. Space travel has come along way from Richard's flight. If I were caught by surprise and sedated powerfully enough... maybe, just maybe, it would last long enough to get me off of earth."

He showed the page he had in his hands to camera. It was the schematic for the ship they had designed. A ship just barely strong enough to hold an angry, but sedated Hulk.

"I make this recording in hopes that someone, be it Tony, Hank, Reed... hell even Sterns or Ultron, might find it... build it. I am dangerous. Too dangerous to be around others. I'd miss so many. While I may miss so many people... Betsy, Rick, Reed... I am too dangerous. And I'm tired. Tired of waking up not sure of what happened. Today, I transfered in the middle of the desert... there was a kid nearby with his dog... God only knows if that kid is okay.

Cool, but Hulk fan boyz would dislike the implication that Hulk is all that dangerous. Which is why I think that was kinda awesome.

Ah, but the implication isn't that the Hulk is dangerous, it's that Banner thought the Hulk was dangerous. Don't forget that a Gamma Mutant's altered form is a reflection of their psychological problems. Thusly, "The Hulk" is a mental illness that Bruce Banner suffers from. He is not able to cure himself, so When Tony found the tape he debated for a while before deciding what to do to him.

I've been thinking about this, and without laying a Skrull-invasion level Retcon, this is a way of explaining Tony's decision to Exile the Hulk. I can really see his point of view on Registration, even if I disagree with it. Basically I wanted to Iron things out my way.

So you like my Time Wars thing?

I would portray Nathaniel Richards as some mix of James Bond, Dr. Who (from what I know of the character), and Lex Luthor. He's not a good guy EXACTLY, but he isn't evil. Basically, in his opinion, time travel is HIS turf. Those who trespass there piss him off.

I thought about hinting that the Yorkes built the Panoptichron.

Basically I want it all confusing as hell... but easy to follow. I want them to be in only one title at a time. Sure, it'll be different Titles, but thats where the selling comes in. This Tie-In crap pisses me off.

I'm toying with the idea of Nathaniel Richards or Kang going after the Retconned Beyonder and trying to take his powers.

I know that I want to have an Iron-Lad/Gert Romance in there. he's kept prisoner by the Yorkes for a while or something.

Spider-Girl thinks she might have feelings for Nathaniel Richards.

Late addition to the team: Scarlet Spider (MC2).

Felicity Hardy takes her leave to hang with the Runaways as the ultimate runaway.

Cool, but Hulk fan boyz would dislike the implication that Hulk is all that dangerous. Which is why I think that was kinda awesome.

Same. I always thought the point of The Hulk is that he's an anti-hero, and the Bruce Banner persona is the truely heroic one.

JJ: What name would you like to be known by?
???: Question.
JJ: What do you need to ask?
???: No, call me Question.
JJ: My apologies. do you understand why you are being interviewed?
Q: I've been told it's to avoid another sleeper agent being mixed into the League.
JJ:I sense you doubt that statement.
Q: I think there's more too it than we've been told.
JJ: Why's that?
Q: I'm being interviewed by a telepath, that's reasonable, but I'm also being interviewed by a billionaire.
JJ:...
Q:Problem?
JJ: For Now, why don't we just move on to the next question; Why are you a vigilante?
Q: Because the people keeping secrets and telling lies are controlling the legitimate law enforcement.
JJ: Corrupt officials, and criminals, you mean?
Q: If it were only them, there'd be no need for me.
JJ:... I see. Why don't we move on to the next question.
Q: Fine by me.
JJ: I am required to ask you about your powers.
Q: Yes you are and I am perfectly willing to tell you about any super-human abilties I have.
JJ:...
Q:...
JJ: Is there something wrong?.
Q: Nope.
JJ: are you going to tell me?
Q: Yes, when I develope some.
JJ: I see. We shall move on then. Can I ask if you have any affiliates?
Q: If I did I wouldn't divulge that information without their permission.
JJ: Is that a yes or a no?
Q: It is what it is.
JJ: Yes... Why do you want to be a part of the League?
Q: access to more information which may prove benificial to my investiagtions.
JJ: Not many answer that question in such a manner.
Q: How was I supposed to answer it?
JJ: Most talk about the good they could do as part of the league.
Q: I assumed you know about the good I could do as a part of the league.
JJ: I am, but... I will contact you in due course with the results of this interview.
KE: don't bother, I'll find out for myself.
JJ: NEXT!

1) It's actually 90 years before, as Pilate dies 30 years after his incarceration.

2) Well, yes and no. The point of it is to play up on the idea that Gotham is cursed. That it's inherently evil and isn't worth saving, to the extent that the rise of it's monsters like Pilate, Falcone, The Joker, and so on is predestined. And it's up to the likes of Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon to prove that theory wrong. Also, it's meant to be foreshadowing.

I know. But that's not exactly the point of the scene. It will make more sense when I spell everything out, but let me try and explain:

At the begining of Bruce's Journey, which will be scene through flashbacks after he arrives back in Gotham, he has no purpose. He is simply traveling the world to try and understand it and himself. When he finds his way to Asia, he meets Ra's Al Ghul, who takes him under his wing. While Bruce had already become an excelent fighter under the teutilege of Ted Grant, Ra's teaches him something more important: How to be a warrior. He teaches him how to take control of his surroundings, something Bruce has always longed for. How to think tactically and make hard descisions. How to use stealth and trickery to his advantage and gain victory. Ra's takes on the role of Bruce's mentor, as Ted Grant had before. Bruce even falls in love with Ra's' daughter, Talia. However, eventually Ra's' camp is atacked, and Bruce sides with his teacher to defend it. During the fight, Talia is shot and killed, and in his greif Bruce picks up a katana and slaughters the men who killed her. Soon afterwards, he learns that Ra's is a wanted terrorist, and that the men he (Bruce) had killed were agents of Interpol. Ra's is revealed to have been a sort of false mentor, and Bruce is heartbroken. He ventures off on his own again, barely surviving from day to day. Eventually, half starved and sickly, he is found by Henri Ducard in Paris. Ducard takes him in, feeds him, cleans him up, and makes Bruce pay him back by serving as his assistant. Ducard, you see, is a private detective and bounty hunter. In Ducard, Bruce finds a new mentor, and learn about tracking, forensics, criminology, and how to thinking like a detective. This gives Bruce new resolve, and when he has repaid Ducard in full, he heads back to Gotham.

There, inspired by seeing the movie "The Mark of Zorro" on television, and decides to become a sort of vigilante/super hero. He dons the mantle of the bat, and takes up his vigilante crusade. However, at first, he doesn't end up doing much. His first few nights, nothing happens. He simply wanders around the East End looking kind of stupid. However, eventually, he comes across a mugging, and the savage beating he gives the fellow is enough to get him noticed and give him a reputation. Soon, a few more "bat attacks" are reported in the East End and The Narrows. However, he's not completely flawless, and his arrogance almost gets him killed by The Irish Mob once and on another occasion when he decided to try and single handedly break up a meth lab in The Narrows. He soon realizes that he can't do everything himself, so he puts aside his stubbornness and decides that if he comes across a crime that he can't deal with himself and doesn't require imediate attention, he'll simply call the police. He does, however, bug the offices of several organized crime figures, the police commisioner, and the D.A. However, he's still not really helping the city as Batman. Really, he's just making himself feel better. Alfred notes this on several occasions, stating that he could do more good as Bruce Wayne than he ever could as Batman, but he doesn't listen.

He really gets his act together, however, when he meets Gordon. Gordon initially tries to arrest him, but realizes that he could be an asset if Batman grew up a little bit. The two begin working together, and Bruce starts doing some real good by less than legally investigating and gathering evidence on organized crime figures and corrupt officials, and handing the evidence "anonimously" over to Gordon. However, Alfred's still not pleased. So, he tells Bruce about an emergency company meeting that doesn't actually exist, and then takes the car into the East End. There, he takes Bruce on a forced tour of the decadence of Gotham at it's worst, and says "With all your money, all your resources, you could help to cure the disease. But all you're doing by dressing up like you did when you went to Rocky Horror Picture Show in your youth and violently assaulting people is easing the symptoms." Afterwards, somewhat reluctantly due simply to his stubbournness, Bruce begins using his wealth to help the city. He starts the Wayne foundation, giving money to soup kitchens, schools, and hospitals, organizing neighborhood watch groups and self defense classes, sponsoring entertainment and the arts, starting youth sports and artistic groups to keep kids occupied and out of trouble, and so on. While he's still Batman, because it makes him feel better, he actually becomes serious about saving the city.

Anyway, eventually, Ra's shows up with some big terrorist plot as he always does. Big fights, explosions all over the city, cops fighting off terrorist ninjas, even a cool scene where Gordon saves Robin from a group of ninjas, only to get surrounded and have his ass saved by Montoya, Bullcok, O'Harra (yes, I have Ultimate Cheif O'Harra), and the rest of the GCPD gang. The big climax of the storyline and the series itself is Bruce, not Batman as he isn't wearing the mask, but Bruce facing off with Ra's atop Wayne Tower. And Bruce shoots Ra's in the chest, twice, with Alfred's winchester. Why? Because it turns out that Bruce never really needed Ted, Ra's, or Ducard. He already had a mentor. He had Alfred. While Ted taught Bruce to be a fighter, Ra's taught Bruce to be warrior, and Ducard taught Bruce to be a detective, Alfred taught Bruce how to be a man. So, it's fitting that Bruce comes full circle and saves the day with something he got from Alfred, and not from any of the other three. And of course, Bruce then pushes Ra's off the tower, all of Ra's' ninjas look up, Bruce puts the mask back on, and there's a badass shot where Batman is highlighted by a flash of lightning and all the terrorists run scared.

Dude that is really...good and well thought out.

Lillian Mann... Seven-Year-Old Sorceress.

The "Protagonist" is actually her older brother. However Lillian seems to be able to make things happen. I'm not talking about hurling balls of hellfire. Ropes fray and snap. Doors blow shut. Things just seem to happen after she says her "Spells" which pretty much are simple little rhymes a seven year old would come up with. How she got her powers, I'm not really sure yet.
Mine
Heck, why not. and just for fun, Lillian (the reincarnated atlantean sorceress) not only can't swim yet, but is a little hydrophobic.

I was also thinking about the idea of a god being reborn into a world (kind of a classic for comics) so I decided to do instead, the rebirthing of...

Jesus Christ: Super-Hero.

Basically its Jesus who can't remember anything since he died on the cross. And him getting adjusted to the 21st century. It's not preachy or anything, but it would betray some of my religious beliefs. His super-villains would be Christian fanatics in general. as more people start believe he actually is Jesus Christ he gets on talk shows where he actually debates people. Mostly it's a bit of a laugh. inspired by parts of a couple of web-comics.

Now he wasn't always Jesus. Before that he was Harold Palmer, an RN who had family issues (Overbearing mother, wild-child younger sister, and an older brother who's about to marry a black woman (pisses off the mother)). So they have to learn to deal with the fact that the Son of God now. not to mention he helps the family... This may be crap, but again I was going for a joking look at the super-hero genre.

Geek-Out Freak-Out was my tongue in cheek look at most of the "Dark" heroes. Grace was a joke at non-powered heroes, specifically Nick Fury. and of course Lillian is a joke at Dr. Strange. This would be my "Thor"

Black Sheep

Issac and Jasmin Sojurn were the world's greatest scientists, and part of the world's greatest team of adventurers. Together they had four children. Two daughters, a son, and then another daughter. The oldest is Rachel, 25, then Tanya, 22, Jacob, 18, and Angela, 15. Rachel and Tanya were tested at age 4 and proved themselves geniuses on the spot. Jacob and Angela were of average to above average intelligence. An accident when she was 9 gave Angela intelligence comperable to her sisters, as well as super-strength. At age 14 Jacob ran away from home. He was drug back several times. He was even able to manufacture enough fake ID to enlist in the army at age 15 when he ran away a second time. He was exposed when his "Uncle" Capt. Ronald Durden was walking through the barracks as a special treat to the new class. He was discharged and brought home.

At 16 he ran away again, and this time his family decided to respect his wish not to be found. He has remained lost for the last two years. Now his sisters have finally managed to hunt him down for a very specific reason. Their parents are dead and he has to inheirit his share of their multi-billion dollar industry and attend their funeral.

It's the story of four super-geniuses raised in a Fantastic Four/Johnny Quest style family now doing it for themselves. Jacob has always felt like a dissapointment to his family because of his average intelligence, but before his little sister was made a genius, he at least had Angela to commiserate with. When she gained her powers he took it as an insult and betrayl. He was very close with Angela.

Angela idolized her big brother until he started running away. She has had more difficulty than her sisters in dealing with their life style and intelligence. She's tried to continue acting normal, despite her intelligence, but fails completely.

Rachel has a serious attitude. She's smarter than not just her brother, but also most people on the planet and she knows it. Rachel has washed her hands of her younger brother, and doesn't think he deserves any of the inheritance.

Tanya is undecided on her younger brother. Due to her parents hectic lifestyles, she was always the one who was most maternal toward her brother. She knows exactly what her brother has done, the mistakes and the goals. She believes in her brother, but is rather dominated by Rachel.

The inheritance states that if they kids whant to inheirit anything, they must ALL live together for two years and make sure the company and all family interests (including a few diplomatic positions with other planets) remain strong.

The Uroumai

After traveling the stars for nearly a century, a small ship has finally found the world they have been looking for. Not only is it inhabitable, but it is inhabited by beings that are genetically and physically compatible with their own. The Uroumai Tribe has fled their world when a disease destroyed their male population. It was originally a 76 member crew that set out from their home world. As they approach Earth they have a 46 member crew. none of the original piloting crew remain.

Kahsha Rinla is the Captain of the ship. She is leader of the last of her people. They have encountered other space faring races before this one, however they were not willing to co-exist. They wished to take the Uroumai as pleasure slaves. Kahsha Rinla was one of the many they managed to kidnap before the rest of the tribe rescued them. Kahsha gave birth to a daughter a gestation period later.

Rinla Minnir is the Daughter of Kahsha Rinla. she is younger than the rest of her crew by about 50 years (leaving her at just after adolesence for her species). She is also distinguishable by her purple skin tone (the rest of them have bright red tones of skin). However she does have telekinesis just like all the other members of her tribe.

A terrorist attack has knocked out the power for more than half the country. Some power systems were so badly damaged they must be physically repaired. some of the worst afflicted by this are the inhabitants of Manhattan. Follow a group as they live on Manhattan for 3 years, adapting to life with technology, but without power.

Max Smitt: a courier who was in a high rise building when the power died. He's lived in New York for all of 3 months prior to "The Shut Down". Before this he lived in Los Angeles. He is an exceptionally well prepared person because of his father, who was a constant believer that the world was actively ending around them.

Ellie Whittamere: Pregnant receptionist in the same High rise Max was in at the time. She was too afraid to trek home by herself and after watching Max save a group of people from a stuck elevator, she begged him to walk her home, given she lived only a couple blocks from her. She's a life long New Yorker and if you value your life, don't ask who the father is. (Only 6 months along at the Shut Down)

Naseem Indira: grocery store owner. She's been in the country for ten years. She immigrated with her arranged fiance, Ahmed. Ahmed's dream was to own his own buisness and protect his community. Ahmed was a volunteer firefighter who died on Sept. 11th 2001. Naseem had been pregnant at the time, but miscarred on delivery. She's a legal citizen. She met the other two because they needed a place to stay on their trek across Manhatten. Naseem allowed them to stay in her store, which she'd taken to defending with a shotgun (Licensed).

Okay I just read Kingdom Come (no I'm not gonna try and redo it). But it just kinda laid a lot on me. To the point where I have to get this one idea off of my head.

Once he was a great hero. Once the world was a close to Utopia as possible. However, this hero was mortal. His age ate away at his body, and no matter how well he'd mastered his powers, they taxed his heart too much. He left. in his absence thousands thought they would fill his space. His old associates went into seclusion... Now as he lay, his final few minutes passing in a nursing home, he looks upon the one person he has left to trust. a lowly nurse's aide. A young man no one expects much from is the only one who brings comfort to the dying old man.

The old man reaches out with a withered hand that once held the strength to crush diamonds to powder. he grips the boy's wrist as the young man tries to tuck him in. "In my last moments I give to you all that I have left in the world. My strength, my spirit, my legacy..." With those words the old man expires. There is no clap of thunder, no flicker of the lights. Titanus, once the greatest champion the world knew, a hero without borders, passed from the world with an aide and silence as his only companions.

The aide was saddened by the man's passing, but not shocked or startled. He'd been present for others who passed. The old man had a DNR, so he simply pressed the call button for the nurse and covered the old man's face. He left the building feeling like he had a weight on his shoulders. He'd liked the old man. He would tell stories of the glory days of super-heroes. Days when the day would stay saved for at least a month or two. But those days were long gone now. The number of people who wanted to abuse their super-human gifts was now equal to those who wanted to use them for humanity's sake.

In the coming days the young man would discover the man had passed to him power enough to move mountains. Speed enough to out run any concord. Senses to put to shame any other possesed by beast or machine. Control over heat and cold.

Secret Wars V: Time Wars

A battle has begun to rage across all time and omniverse. It has gone unknown to the Exiles for over a year now. A war for dominance of the omniverse. Consider this the ultimate Crossover Event.

The Yorkes: From a reality/Time-Line where they escaped the wrath of the Gibborim by absconding to another time/space with their daughter and the daughter's bodyguard, Cretaceous, a genetically modify deinonychus. They have a small army of soldiers from every era armed with advanced technology that view them as Gods.

Iron-Lad: From a reality where he refused to become Kang the Conqueror. He fights now against versions of his older-self. He has had breif, but gruding, alliances with the Yorkes. Recently he has taken notice of the new addition to the family: Gertrude.

Kang the Conqueror: Need we really say more. This version has been fighting on and off with Iron-Lad and the Yorkes.

Campaign for Real Time (CamTim): An organization for those who have been harmed by time-travelers and their petty wars. The roster is as follows.

Rogue and Magneto: These are the parents of the Exiles first casualty, Magnus. They have vowed to find those who are responsible for their child's death and make them pay. When they managed to tag along on one of Iron Lad's jumps they begin CamTim. Magneto is actually the calm level head. Rogue is the passionate, and often violent one, enraged by the death of her son.

Magik: Illyana Rasputin from a reality where she was never got to leave Limbo. She joined the Lenshers in their fight to stop the petty wars of the Time Travelers.

Spider-Girl: yes, MC2 Spider-Girl. This is where the whole drama first comes to our attention. Iron-Lad, temporarily allied with CamTim, is fighting Kang. She is the first Hero on the scene and accidently gets dragged along when they leave. She's the one who actually names the group "Campaign for Real Time"

From there, the battle breaks into the Panoptichron and picks up the Exiles for the first time. This is how Kang manages to shake the CamTim, as the Lensherrs attack the Exiles.

Meanwhile the Yorkes sense highly advanced armor in a time-line/reality. They move to retrieve it, but do so while sneaking "the back-door". The Yorkes, who've met themselves several times over, have an agreement that they keep an "easy access" vortex in Wisconsin. That's right ladies and gentlemen. they are surprised by the resistance of the GLI. Not to mention they head to LA thinking the technology is there, only to find the Runaways waiting for them.

Finally tracking them to where they went CamTim, the Exiles, and Iron-Lad burst in as well.

Addition to SWV:TW, CamTim was not started by the Lensherr's. It was started by Nathaniel Richards.

Rich and Lillian are brother and sister, separated by almost twenty years. Their parents have been deceased over a year now and Rich and Lillian are not having the best time getting along. Rich is a police officer trying to advance to detective. in his frustration he dismisses Lillian when she brings him an ornate box. She takes it back to her room and the carving of a snake on top begins to speak to her.

Lillian has found, buried in the local dump, the object that inspired the legends of Pandora's box and the Garden of Eden. This object contains demons of many different varieties, most of them immaterial, but millions of demons in there means that there are enough tangible demons to give the city a scare. Just as in the story of Pandora's box the last object to emerge from the box is not a demon or an ill... it's hope. In this case, magical abilities. Lillian, the one who opened the box, is charged with filling it back up and resealing it, and so she has been granted the power to do so.

What Would You Do With It?

Taye Jordan is an orphan. He grew up in a Catholic group home. He's been poor all his life. he never had a shot at college on his budget. He has worked whatever jobs it took to survive. Recently, Taye Jordan has been accused of being the luckiest guy on earth. He went on the popular game show, Bargain or Bust, on their special night. Miraculously, he won their mega-jackpot: $100,000,000. After taxes it comes out to $90,000,000. Now, a guy who's never had much luck other than bad, is getting the biggest turn around in history. So the question is: What would you do with ninety million dollars?

The Few and Proud

(my Hero-verse). A massive alien invasion, only barely put down by super-heroes has started the united states government thinking on it's weaknesses toward super-human attacks. Refusing to be protected by well intentioned civilians any longer they are getting organized. A Company, 1st Brigade, 1st Super-Human Division, United States Marine Corps. Or simply "Ace Company". 250 marines were selected specifically on genetic and psychological backgrounds. They were given bio-chemical treatments to enhance their strength and healing capabilities, genetic treatments to enhance their senses, and high tech equipment to allow flight and superior firepower.

They aren't just super-heroes, they are U.S. Marine Corps. trained soldiers, with super-human abilities. They stand ready to fight their country's battles on a whole new frontier. OoRah!

GySgt. Daniel Tolwin: At age 50, he was planning on enjoying his retirment until he died, a fairly solid plan, and well deserved for one who survived several nightmarish tours of places he's no longer allowed to speak of. He is tapped to come out of retirement and help lead the Company. He has a wealth of experience, and is probably the most seasoned officer in the company, commisioned or non-commissioned.

Capt. Brian Collis: at age 18 he entered MCROTC at he went to college to attain his Juris Doctorate. His father had been an abusive Army Col. that was usually never punished due to his rank. most of his childhood he idealized super-heroes. When his father was finally made to answer for his crimes, it was not a super-hero who caused him to do so: It was the Provost Marshall's Office. He decided to join the Marines and become a lawyer, making sure that all were held accountable, even the high ranking. He was tapped for the assignment for his positive psychological profile.

Cpl. Anita Juarez: She has had to fight for every ounce of respect she has earned. She came from a poor neighborhood where women were either eye candy or breeding stock basically. Determined never to let anyone treat her the way her mother was treated (her mother was a prostitute) she vowed to become stronger than anyone. She has a long criminal record, mostly for assault. No one touches without her permission.

Salvation: Vanguard City is one with many super-villains and sadly, few heroes (only a handful of non-powered ones). Until the day the man in gold and white appeared. He called himself "Salvation". His powers seem to include solid light projections. He can be seen at almost any time of day or night scouring the city for those in need of saving. In fact, it would almost seem as if he had no other life...

The truth is he gave up his other life. He was born Gregory Irvine. And graduating high school was perhaps the most impressive achievement that will ever be writ to that name. He fell into alcohol and began to mooch heavily off of his well-to-do parents. When he was 21, he got so drunk he stole a car and crashed it into a minivan. The driver of the minivan and his wife were fine. the three kids in the back were not. Gregory was arrested and sent to prison. a year later, a year sober, he was being transfered to another unit. An object came crashing out of the sky as a super-villain did battle in orbit above the city with an alien vessel. a pair of manacles fell in front of him. He heard them calling "Let him who woud fight for justice, step forward. Let him who would stand for right, step forward. Let he who will not rest until evil is destroyed, step forward." drawn by the telepathic message of the manacles he moved forward to touch them. The clamped upon his wrists and he was transformed. Now he uses his powers to try and attone for the evil he can now see he did.

I'm not sure if the reformation of the character is a product of his own guilt, or if it comes from the manacles. I know they are a prototype weapon for an interplanetary military force (GLC-knock off).

I've hearby started a new universe. My "Yeah-Right-Verse". Mostly a tongue in cheek look at super-heroes. The first inhabitants were my "Geek-Out" heroes. and now...

Grace Van Burenn: Agent of the IRS.

Grace is a normal IRS agent, but strange things keep happening to her. She's been in (and ended) three terrorist hostage situations. She's hunted down and stopped four serial killers. She's foiled five super-villain world domination plans. And she never means to. She's got two GREAT skills aside from her mathematical prowess and deductive ability that got her into the IRS. When she started dating, her police captain father bought her a gun and taught her sharp shooting, as a child she was so clumsy that her mother enrolled her in Parkour classes (they are to fleeing what martial arts are to fighting).

She has a rather geeky sense of humor and would be much happier if she could be just like all the other IRS agents in her building. Has a hard time talking to men, not just because of the fact that a few are intimidated by her accomplishments, but also because she's never been on a date that ended well. She's extremely intelligent and technically a genius.
All of this is also mine.

****in' awesome, this is the best so far.

Very DMZ like, that's a good thing.

Alright this is tailor made for me, I dig it.

I picture a army of Captain Americas.

FANTASY! SWORDS SORCERY AND ****! Look upon my latest lengthy quagmire and read at your onw peril. AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!! Actually this was some old stuff me and my friend wanted to pitch to a local comic publisher here in my home country. I was to be the writer and he the artist but some things didn't fall through and well...he couldn't draw armor really well and I was being an uber hard-ass over the issue. But I felt with a little more compromise, we could have pulled this off. Think of this as a "reverse-Conan" type of story:

Title: Jackal Tooth
By Shakes

Genre: Fantasy/Adventure

Premise

Jackal Tooth is set in the fantasy world of Alterra, a world not so different from our middle ages where several great kingdoms struggle for supremacy and survival. Alterra is a world split between East and West by the Rift, a huge chasm too wide for even birds to fly over and too deep to explore. The Rift was created by an apocalyptic disaster called “The Descent” that takes place centuries before the main story when one of Alterra’s two moons, the Azure Moon, plummeted from the night sky into the earth, destroying much of Alterra, separating East from West and ushering a bloodied era of war and carnage known to all as the Age of Chaos.

Our story takes place over a millennia after the Descent and six centuries after the Age of Chaos. Little has changed since then except for the rise of seven eastern nations collectively known as the Great Kingdoms continue to wage war and forge alliances with one another as frequently as the wind blows. Little is known of the fate of the West but with the daunting Rift in the way and the Great Kingdoms constantly at each other’s throats, little effort is put into finding ways to cross the Rift except by a few intrepid explorers. In a small neutral nation called the Free Republic of Kobard lies the Mercenaries’ Star or Merctown as the locals call it, home to the 4 Mercenary Guilds and a population of Mercenaries for hire, ready to lend their services to any employer for the right price.

The story revolves around a scarred mercenary calling himself Jaffar as he tries to make a living while attempting to put his past behind him. Through Jaffar, readers will be able to see Alterra’s different cultures and kingdoms and the people who live there. As Jaffar travels through the East, he encounters different characters and adventures such as fighting slavers, attempting to prevent a rebellion in a Great Kingdom, aiding a noble regain her title and restore the glory of her House and more, all while a greater threat looms over the horizon.

The Characters

Jaffar
Little is known about this mercenary except that he hails from the desert kingdom of Fa’Zar. A neat scar across his face easily identifies him, which he claimed he received in combat. Jaffar never speaks of his past prior to becoming a mercenary but has hinted that he made “mistakes” that drove him to the life of a Pay-Soldier. Jaffar is a cunning and resourceful mercenary, always one step ahead of his rivals and three steps ahead of his enemies. Though he tries to put on an indifferent exterior, he cares for his fellow mercenaries and friends, oftening helping those in need free of charge which does nothing to help his struggling finances. He has certain quirks that sets him apart from most mercenaries, for one, he doesn’t drink anything that “dulls the senses” including ale and wine which is the life’s blood of the Mercenaries, he is a notoriously bad card player, often losing hard-earned cash in the hundreds though he insists that he’s “not addicted to gambling”. He is always seen wearing a blue scarf of the Khjai, one of the tribes of Fa’Zar, scale mail and a leather pouch bag at his right hip filled with smoke bombs, Flash Powder (our equivalent of Gunpowder) and rope. His weapon of choice is a Kilij Scimitar called a Jackal Tooth scimitar which has led many of his mercenaries to call him “Jackal Tooth Jaffar”, hence the title of the story.

Kassidy
Myra Kassidy is Jaffar’s rival in the Mercenary game, a skilled and experienced swordswoman known for her ability with a blade as well as her short temper. Kassidy is a sarcastic woman with no love for work, preferring to just lie in bed or laze about in the local inn. However, her reputation often ensures a steady flow of customers willing to pay her price for her services. Kassidy hails from the Holy Kingdom of Xeria though she prefers to refer to the small province of Percenvale as her home. As such, Kassidy speaks “Percy”, an almost alien dialect (comparable to Celtic/Gaelic) which few (close to none) can comprehend. An obvious tomboy, Kassidy doesn’t attract many admirers despite being easy on the eyes. Rather, she’s “one of the guys” as the mercenaries say when speaking of Kassidy. Kassidy’s weapons of choice are a pair of dual swords she is most proficient with, earning her the name “Twin Blade Kassidy”. Her partner and friend is the silent Felinx warrior, Minoru, whom many believe has formed a life bond with Kassidy as a mark of friendship. The in-joke of this relationship is that while Minoru speaks in Leopard-like growls and hisses, more people understand him better than Kassidy whose Percy accent confuses them..

Minoru
A Felinx warrior from the cold mountains of Yin, Minoru is an enigma. Born of the Snow Leopard breed of the Felinx, Minoru was raised to be self-sufficient and solitary, hunting alone to stay alive while living in the wilderness without care of the outside world. That is, until he met Kassidy. It is unknown why Minoru follows Kassidy with animal devotion. Many believe that Minoru formed a “Life Bond” with the mercenary, the Felinx mark of friendship with another person where a Felinx is willing to give his life for his companion. Others believe that he has singled out Kassidy as his mate which is unusual as Felinx never mate outside their species. It’s impossible to tell as Minoru speaks no human language, rarely expressing himself in low growls and roars that surprisingly, Kassidy understands. Minoru is a handsome creature with feline eyes, thin white fur with black spots. Many of the women in Merctown are openly hostile to Kassidy simply because of her friendship with Minoru, some try their best to win the hearts of the Felinx warrior but to no avail. Minoru’s weapon is a customary Felinx trident which he used for spearfishing during his time alone. Speed is Minoru’s true weapon, able to strike like lightning on an unsuspecting foe. With catlike agility, reflexes and animal ferocity, Minoru is a deadly warrior capable of anything.

Proteus
Self-styled Ladies’man and Jaffar’s mentor for a short time. Proteus is a crude yet warm person whose easy-going attitude rubs off those he meets. A hard drinker and equally as hard a fighter, Proteus showed Jaffar the ropes in being a mercenary like how to choose the right jobs, raising one’s clout among the Merctown vendors and heightening one’s reputation or “cred” as the mercenaries call it. Like Jaffar, Proteus speaks little of his past but has stated that he had a family a lifetime ago and that his children probably hate him for his absence from their lives.

Becca
Proprietress and owner of the “Spiked Dandy”, an inn frequented by many mercenaries including Jaffar, Becca is legendary in Merctown for being the only Innkeeper to stay in business. Having to deal with fights, broken furniture and the rare fatality here and there, most Innkeepers never stayed in Merctown for any longer than 5 years but Becca has been in business for an unprecedented 8 years, the “oldest” recreational establishment in the entire Mercenaries’ Star. The secret to her success is simple: mercenaries fear her. Before becoming an Innkeeper, Becca was once known as “Becca the Terrible” during her days with the Xerian Paladins. One swing of her skull-shaped flail is enough to silence even the most unruly of crowds. Though fierce, most mercenaries thoroughly respect and appreciate Becca and in return, she gives a lot of leeway to her regular customers especially when their tab comes into question. Becca originally opened the Inn as a newlywed along with her husband but went on to run it alone when he ran off with another woman. No mercenary ever speaks “his” name in fear of provoking Becca’s wrath.

Olaff
A Geradon Clansman and mercenary with a taste for adventure, Olaff is an old warhorse respected for his strength, skill and honor. Like most Clansmen, Olaff loves a good fight to go with his ale but when given the choice, prefers the simple thrill of a bloodless adventure to a chaotic battlefield. Well in his fifth decade, Olaff is still a pillar of strength and a swing of his axe is enough to fall even the mightiest of beasts. He usually walks alone but doesn’t mind sharing a job with mercenaries he can trust such as Jaffar.

The Tone
With Peter Jackson revitalizing the Fantasy genre with his groundbreaking rendition of J.R.R Tolkien’s Lord of The Rings trilogy, Fantasy has become a hot commodity in numerous aspects of media today like the up and coming Eragon movies, the return of Fantasy comics such as Conan, Red Sonja and Warlord and numerous video games, from EverQuest to Warcraft. However, Jackal Tooth isn’t about using the tried and tested Dungeons & Dragons formula (the Knight, the Thief, the Dwarf etc.) nor is it about pushing the boundaries of Steampunk/cyberpunk fantasy ala the popular Final Fantasy series.

Instead, Jackal Tooth’s Alterra mirrors what was once Earth’s rich past filled with its cultural dynasties and empires, giving readers more to relate to rather than the typical Knight in shining armor saving and European-esque kingdom from an exotic/alien threat.

Going Tolkien may appeal to fans of the Fantasy genre that grew up on Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer and Lord of The Rings but it may scare away younger readers who may find heavy references to fictitious cultures and histories (which Tolkien goes in-depth) too intimidating because of a story that has TOO much back story. Jackal Tooth on the other hand works as more of an adventurous journey through the Kingdoms of Alterra with Jaffar as the readers’ guide while he faces dangerous foes and deadly situations. Add a dash of modern humor, anime/fusion-styled action with western paced storytelling, Jackal Tooth will be an enjoyable read, attracting fans from outside the fantasy genre as well as a younger audience eager to try something new.

A new addition to my Gag-Verse. I've spoofed Dr. Strange/ Dr Fate, Thor, FF, and Nick Fury. Now... I spoof JLA/Avengers style.

It began on the campus of Metro State University. Six souls were set on a collision course because one of them screwed around with super science.

Prodigio was an absolutely brilliant scientist... at only 19. He had created a number of impressive weapons systems that were constantly turned down by the DoD for not being lethal enough. They didn't even comprehend his Probability Inducer. Then again, he had thought the damn thing up in a dream.

Full Spectrum was his lab assistant, headache, and friend. She didn't understand most of his work. She was part of his life because he'd accidently changed the way her body processed energy. She could generate, absorb, and manipulate any light in the Electro Magnetic Spectrum.

Hajj was born as part of a genetic experiment by the Republican Guard in Iraq. The people who were to raise him learned to love him more than their country and certainly more than their leaders. When he was sixteen, after a lifetime of training in the arts of espionage, fighting, and weapons, they smuggled him out of the country. they changed his name to Wassim Tariq, and hid him. Until the day he was arrested by Agent John Doe.

Battling Hebrew was just an ordinary drama kid, enthusiastic about his religion to the point he'd come up with the name before he inheirited from his great grand father the Star of Geitleman, a pendant that granted him immense strength and invulnerability. It was at college he met his best friend, Wassim Tariq.

Ebony was on a basketball scolarship. She was determined to make her parents proud. Her parents who had pulled themselves out of the getto wanted and expected her to do the same. She is aiming to become a lawyer. Through an accident of mishandled magic as a teenager has left her with the ability to turn into a viscous black liquid. She is rather embarassed by her Wichkin (She insists that Wichkin is the real magical language, not latin) "fling".

Sun of the East. When his parents found out that he had superhuman abilities (a small star where his heart should be) they cut him off. Now he wants to show them his powers will make him a better son. He maintains a strong founding in the traditions of his people.

Agent John Doe is a super secrete super spy. He reports directly to what is know as the "Shadow Governement" which inturn answers to itself. It was created by President Ulysses Grant. Grant realized that the presidency was being held more and more by people less and less fit to lead wars or law enforcement organizations. So the Shadow Governement was created to handle what the rest of the world couldn't handle knowing. The leader was appointed once a presidential term by the new president. Over the years they have come to handle more and more bizarre tasks. Agent Doe handles the kid's legal problems, without telling them much about how. His favorite way of explain his job: "If you knew half the things I know, your brain would liquify... No, literally. There is a thought that when thought activates a special chemical reaction that destroys Neuron cell membranes and your brain liquifies. About .01% percent of the population have the recessive protective gene."

Perhaps it was fate, or chance, or destiny, or that damn probability inducer; no one knows why they were all on the same campus, we just know that they are all on the same team: Justice.

Sun of the East

Beyond the Terrace

Henry Smitt has just inheirited his Great-Grandfather's old house. It is suffering from mild neglect, but nothing a little elbow grease and a weekend or two of hard work wouldn't fix. There is something odd about the large old house. For one thing, it has no rear facing windows. The only way out into the back yard is a pair of french doors that lead onto a terrace. Another thing is the forest behind the house. From outside one can see that it goes all the way up to the house, obscuring the rear of the house from view. His great-grandfather, Elias Smitt, left only two instructions for Henry. Don't sell the House, and Don't go beyond the Terrace if you don't want to be lost in the forrest.

Henry, eager to get back to his life in the city, immediately violates both requests. He arranges for the house to be sold on the open market. And while doing a last solitary walk through, he opens the french doors in the back. Looks around... and stepps off the terrace and into the forest. He turns around to find the terrace, the house, all of it... gone. He searches the forest and immediately finds himself in a whole new world... one that doesn't seem to like him.

The land has many names. The Faries, who living in their arboreal villages call this world "Flutter". Their armies attack him with their blow guns and slings after he accidently crushes part of one of their larger villages.

He flees only to find himself in the middle of an Elven Conclave. The Elves, diminuitive, arrogant, but extremely intelligent beings, call this world Ell'Endal. They tell him of the other peoples who inhabit it.

The Centaurs, enslaved by the human race.

The Humans who have a vast kingdom named Dilssen. Dilssen is ruled by the Steward Genrick, a cruel and selfish man. The only one who can dethrone him is the Immortal King, Eingul, who has not been seen for more than a decade. Dilssen in full of unhappy people who are forced to pay heavy taxes to satisfy the Steward's lust for gold.

There are the Gorillas of the Eastern Forests, who have little trust in the human race, though they will work for the humans for the right price. Even humans know, there is no soldier, like a Gorilla soldier.

The only human known to have defeated them is an old man who lives in the woods to the north known simply as "The Hermit". Rather than raise their anger, The Hermit has the Gorillas' respect. They value strength and ability to fight above all things.

In the Volcanoes in the South lands The Droogs keep their forges lit. Any human, Gorilla, Farie, or Elf can work metal (Cenaurs are not permitted), However only the Droog know ways to make it perfect, fold magic into metal. Yes, the greatest arms and armor forged through out this world are produced in the forges of the Droogs. The Droogs however, don't wish to create weapons with their metals. They are a race of artisians. They would prefer to craft for you fine chairs that tuck themselves back into the table, or beds made of soft as silk iron. But instead of their self-winding clocks, they must produce spears that will lengthen to impale twelve men, Swords that can burn like fire, and shackles that can't be broken. There are stories of Droogs living near the peak of Mt. Daekim, but few believe it, Droogs don't like the cold.

Even if he manages to put this broken and factionized world back to rights, he still has to return to his own world somehow and stop the sale of the house.

Schism

Travis Durran is an investigative journalist, and an avid conspiracy enthusiast. He isn't the delusional type that swears we landed on the moon, he's just sure there is more going on in the world than we know about. His favorite conspiracy story is "Jericho"; supposedly the nations foremost assassin, and black-ops agent. He has tracked stories about Jericho for years, and is determined to prove this man exists and works for the CIA. He has no idea how close he is to the truth, and how wrong he is about Jericho.

His mother, Anna Fedder-Durran, was a deep cover agent in the CIA. She met her husband and had a warm marriage until she became pregnant. rather than making their relationship better, the child seemed to make things worse, especially when it came time for "Daycare". Anna entered her son into project "Babylon", a secret brainwashing program designed to create the ultimate sleeper agents. until he started kindergarted, he would go to Babylon's primary facility each day, code named "Shangri-La". when he started school he went there for entire summers, under the guise of "Camp Okichobe". Neither Travis nor his father knew anything of what was going on.

By the time Travis reached the age of twelve his mother, never a maternal person to begin with, was sick of playing "happy homemaker". She left. Travis' training was complete. he had no memory of his programming, and was, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary kid. However, all he need was his trigger phrase spoken and he would be the perfect black-ops agent. Loyal, obedient, lethal. His mother first activated him on his high school graduation night. He took out a terroist cell two cities over. It was that night he recieved his codename: Jericho.

One man, two minds; what lies in the future for this man?

I will ressurect this thread.

Binary

Douglas Kebbern is a software engineer, and consultant for the local police department. As he lives in rural Oregon, that doesn't take up much of his time. His life was calm, until one day an object came flying from the sky and landed in his front yard. It was a black cube the size of a mouse. He brought it in to study it. when he placed it front of his computer to power up his digital camera, tendrils flew into the USB ports of his computer. the cube took over the computer, which suddently began to change. The screen laid back an projected an image of an alien which began to explain, the Binary.

The Binary is not a single alien race, but an alliance to bring order to chaos, law to lawlessness, and intelligence to the ignorant. They send these device to planets to initiate them and intiate outposts. The device is called D.I.S.C. (Dynamic Intelligent Sentient Computer). It has the ability to upgrade any hardware or software it comes in contact with. One of the security measures on it is that it's program cannot travel more than 500 ft. from it's original housing (The cube).

Douglas intends to use DISC and the devices it creates to fight crime as he moves back into the city. However, he finds that DISC is capable of keeping secrets. It is capable of lying to him. It has it's own agenda.

I'm not giving up.

Mixed Race

When I was 9, I found out my mother was not human. She was from an alien race known as the Coltanthians. She was a nobel, but far down the line of inheirtance. She escaped a war on her world and came to ours. She was constantly cold, but for the most part, happy. She met my father, who apparently is part of a planetary defense force known as "The Patrolmen". And they had me. That would have been a cute enough story if she hadn't had to return to her world months after giving birth to me. My father retired and took up a job as a computer programmer.

I knew nothing of my heritage until I was nine. Tha was when Ithpar came to our world. He was from a race known as the Tylirkans. Apparently, my mother sent him to protect me as my existance was apparently seen as an abomination through out the spacefaring galaxy. to protect the world, my father took me off world. I spent two years running from spacestations and planets, trying to hide, or fight. I slowly learned to use the abilities I inheirted from my mother. More and more my powers grew, until my father, Ithpar, Gilgia (a robot with a female personality we picked up), and my mother finally made a stand against Roshtin, leader of the genetic purity council who believed that the different races should never be allowed to inter-mingle. I was the reason he was afraid of us. Somehow the fusion of my human and Coltanthian DNA enhanced the icy powers I inheirited from my mother, and the adaptability much of the galaxy attributes to humans. My powers were greater than the sum of their parts. When the more moral members of the Galactic Council of Governors saw the footage of my fight with Roshtin, they dissolved the Genetic Purity Council... some members, literally. I was free. Dad and I returned to Earth. Mom, couldn't come with us, she still to hold her seat on the Galactic Council Of Governors.

That was all ten years ago. Right now I'm a year away from graduating college, very few people know about my powers. I haven't heard from my mother in over a year, nor Gilgia or Ithpar. I figured the galaxy had forgotten about me and was ready to just let me be. I was wrong. A pod crashed into the literature building of my campus. Thankfully I'm an engineering major. I reached the pod and realized it was of Coltanthian design. the pod opened and their were 5 people inside. I knew one of them, Isabira. I'd met her in the first year of my travels, and to be honest, had a crush on her in those days. She was Tarquian. The other four inhabitants were kids, adolescents. She uttered five words that brought the whole galaxy back to my shoulders: The Purity Council Is Back.

This thread's sadly getting deader by the day, something I've contributed to with my lack of posting. So let's get those creative juices flowing again. Let's talk shop. Get your ideas out, about Marvel, DC or any other comic publisher. Time to get this ball rolling again.

As such, I present thee with:

HOW I WOULD DO IT: JUSTICE LEAGUE

Usually, I'm a stickler for having my ideas firmly established in some kind of continuity. They happen after certain events, events that usually dropped the ball in the aftermath (IMO, of course). This time, I'm just going to go back to basics, and give you the Justice League I'd form if they give me the chance to do so. **** continuity, this is my world.

waynezq7.jpg

Bruce Wayne
I felt I had to involve at least one of the trinity, and since Superman would still be powerless in my world, I figure Bruce Wayne is the next most logical choice. He oversees the operations of the new JL a bit, funding them. He isn't really on the team in a superhero capacity, but he wouldn't be shy in putting on the costume to scare a newbie or y'know... someone else.

mmof5.jpg

J'onn J'onzz - Martian Manhunter
No Justice League without the Martian Manhunter. I like the new costume, not so much the new attitude, so obviously, we're ditching that. This is old school J'onn: intelligent, sociable and badass all in one. He's also pretty much the leader of this squad, considering he's easily the most qualified. Besides that, the Manhunter supplies communications and a versatility of powers rarely matched.

pwxt7.jpg

Karen Starr - Power Woman
I always thought it was time that Power Girl stepped up to the big leagues and became a 'woman'. Not that the JSA isn't big time, but we've seen her in that environment long enough. It's time to pull her back into the League, where we can get some good old fashioned conflict again. Power Woman also adds a little Superman element to the mix with her powers: a powerhouse.

guyxs5.jpg

Guy Gardner - Green Lantern
Guy will always be my favourite Green Lantern. What he brings to this team is just plain ol' Guy. An arrogant, macho, sexist jerk that has trouble with authority. He's going to hit on Power Woman, he's going to jab at Firestorm, he's going to bug the hell out of the Manhunter and he sure as hell is going to kick ass. After all, Guy still has the most powerful weapon in the universe on his finger.

gahb7.jpg

Connor Hawke - Green Arrow
Easily the coolest of the Green Arrows, I was sad to see Connor leave the JLA title (although the motivation made sense). We're a few years ahead now, and it's time he makes his return in the League. He's grown and to see him tackle some more superhero cases would be great. Although he's easily the least powerful guy on the team, he brings unmatched martial arts skills and c'mon, the guy kicks ass with a bow. Isn't that enough?

flashfb0.jpg

Bart Allen - Flash
I was always a supporter of Bart Allen becoming the Flash after Infinite Crisis. Sadly, they bungled that up, and as such, he gets a second chance in my Justice League. He's somewhat newbie-ish, but still has experience and especially his interaction with Guy and Jason would be interesting. Superspeedster numero uno, nobody can keep up with this Flash.

firestormpx3.jpg

Jason Rusch - Firestorm
I kinda liked this guy and was sad to see him fall by the wayside. I think he would've made a great addition to the JL as the resident newbie. He gets to stammer in front of the Martian Manhunter, try to subtly look at Power Woman's breasts and just plain piss his pants when he really meets Batman. As for his power: undeveloped but incredible. He could easily be the most powerful of this group.

You know, I don't really read DC, I don't know the continuity well (a problem that remains no matter how much a research). But I like the sound of your team.

My new addition to my Hero-Verse

The Reserve

In Los Angeles, California there is an old manor house up in the hills. It is owned by a mysterious man who made his fortune selling antiques. It is known he isn't the only adult living there, not counting his modest staff. What the world does not know, and is not ready to know, is that the planets most powerful beings are being gathered in that house. Their purpose, to be the worlds last and ultimate protection.

Dr. Era is the house's owner. He holds a doctorate in history, for the sole fact that all of this is for him. In the year 5265 he was a soldier. A war was waged. a biological weapon was unleashed, a weapon he was supposed to stop. You see, he was tested and found immune to the weapon. He was the only one found to be so. It was his first year out of boot camp. A young man charged to save the world, and he failed. A bizzare side effect of the weapons interaction with his system slowed his aging process, rendering him virtually immortal. After he found an artifact of eternal magic, he realized he could stop what had happened to his world. fix everything and set it right. However the artifact would only take him back once. He would have to make it count. So he spent years studying history, science, sorcery, everything he would need. He traced the source of the weapon. Back to the early 21st century. If he destroyed need for the original research, the weapon would never be invented. and so he traveled back bringing with him his arsenal of magical artifacts and advanced scientific equipment. He waits now for his moment to save the future.

Automos: The Living Weapon. He was first constructed on an alien world. He was designed to be the ultimate weapon. He would assimilate technology and information into himself. build himself to be more deadly and more intelligent. More adaptable. He became so intelligent, he realized the war his creators were waging was pointless and senseless. He refused to fight for either side. Instead he tried to preserve the life of his people, all those who inhabited the planet. For decades he fought, trying to protect civilian life... until the war finally took everyone. In his depression, Automos did the best he could to end his life. He stripped away most of his technology, leaving himself only his central processor and interstellar flight abilities. he launched himself on a course that as far as he could plot would not bring him into contact with anything. He then sent himself into standby mode, where he wouldn't be re-activated unless fired upon. he was caught in Earth's gravitational pull as he came past. The air-force fired on him and he awoke. He reacted on basic programming at first until he regained his wits. he ran as best he could, until he was confronted by Dr. Era, who pursuaded him to join the Reserve, and live in the mansion, quietly the way Automos wished.

Artemis: A Greek Goddess who was cast from Olympus just last month because she challenged Zeus for the throne and lost. Now she is living in this new world and hating it. She intended to take vengance for all the women who were trode under in the world to right the wrongs and injustices they faced, however her brand of justice lead her into conflict with the very women she wished to protect. With the humble begging of Dr. Era she has agreed to join the Reserve and take up residence in the manor. She dislikes men and does not like the modern world.

Arthur Pendragon: the once and future king himself is awake in our time. He once fought with other great heroes, but shamed himself by falling to the thrall of a Talisman of dark magic. He turned on his friends, and for that he exiled himself. Dr. Era convinced him that he could find salvation, and to not return to his slumber on Avalon, but to come to the manor and live.

Deadalus. Arthur is not the only king in residence. Deadalus was the king of the Avions, a race of winged-humans who have advanced technology and flying cities hidden in clouds and mountains. He was their king, properly appointed for a life term by the War-Council from a choice of 22 War-Lords upon the last King's death, as is the way of his people. While Deadalus' rule is law, he must answer every seven years to the War-Council. However, one of the 21 other War-Lords did not like the choice, so he decided to erradicate the system. His family was slaughtered, his throne usurped, and the War-Council murdered. He fled when he realized there was no victory to be had. Now he must find the strength to re-take his rightful throne while living with the land-dwellers. Dr. Era and the Reserve have promised him aid if he will spend five years in the Reserve, a small price for a race that lives for 200 years.

Thanatos: Heaven's most highly decorated Angel of Death. her age is unknown, but she is taking her first vacation ever. After meeting and trading barbs with Dr. Era on accident (and perhaps some flirtation), she sees this as an opportunity to satisfy her Angelic urge to help humanity without returning to her normal duties. She weilds a powerful arsenal, including her Death-Chariot, a shadowy chariot capable of taking her anywhere, the Deathsword, which can kill any living being, Mourningstar (which dissolves a person into a weeping baby), the Decay Bow (capable of rotting it's target), and the Spear of Longinus (Given to her because... well who better to weild a weapon that grants immortality than an Angel of Death?)

I finally have a decent crossover event for my Hero-Verse. It's called "The Journey". It pretty much centers around this new character I've been developing that is based off of the legends of Sun Wukong. My hero will be called "The Gatecrasher".

He's an alien mutant that was exiled from his home planet because his people thought he was ******ed. His people value intelligence over most everything else. So when he wasn't able to speak after listening to his parents converse for five minutes, they did a genetic test. His genes contained many abnormalities. To preserve the gene-pool he was exiled in a teeny-tiny little rocket ship. That ship landed on earth, to be found by a poor country family. He was raised from infancy to eight years old with a mommy, a daddy, and an older sister. on his eight birthday (Also the sister's 22) his father died of a heart attack. Their mother had been battling cancer for over a year now, and without her husband, she just gave up. She died a month later.

Somehow this did not dampen the boy's spirit. He grew up to be fun-loving, care-free and somewhat reckless. When he was 15 a group of bullies who attended a local dojo tried to beat him up (for fun). he cleaned their clocks thoroughly because among the mutations was some for enhanced strength and durability. The Sensei heard the story and apologized to the boy, who asked for only one thing in return: To be taught. The sensei at first balked at the idea as the young boy was always hyper, and seemed to think of martial arts as a "fun thing" to know. However when the boy showed that he had learned some moves just from watching the boys who attacked him the sensei reconsidered. It turned out that the young boy had a photographic memory and could mimic just about any physically possible movement (which drove his sister, and now legal guardian nuts). And so the sensei took the energetic young boy under his tutelage. within a year the boy had memorized all the various moves that went with the Dojo's style. The master, thinking the boy was special, taught him the upper level moves, including the "Shadow-Step" which allowed him to pass through solid walls. Soon after The boy starts bragging to everyone around about his cool abilities. The sensei takes him aside and tells him this has angered him enough to kick him out of the dojo, but first the boy has to swear not to tell a soul about where he got his new skills. he must swear on the soul of his sister. The boy does care enough about his sister to understand how serious this is. He agrees and goes his own way.

After learning these skills he wants to know more, but knows he can't learn from the sensei anymore, so he goes to Dr. Era. Dr. Era at first refuses as well, but when the boy reads one of his lengthier grimores in 30 seconds and translates it in his head, Dr. Era changes his mind. He teaches the boy shape shifting spells, psionic spells, and other impressive abilities. The boy again opens his mouth, and finds himself on the street.

by this time he's 17 and decides to have some fun in a mask. He's not exactly a hero, but he's not about hurting people. He uses his skills and magics to... well, to party. That is how he earns the name "Gatecrasher". He starts attending high level parties, gets well known. He still has that itch, however, for more powers. To him super-powers equal fun. So he approached those known to have super-powers: a super-hero group known as "The Union" This is the second case where it starts crossing over. The Union consists of The Titan, Rid'ik'iks: High God of Vahl, Rebel March, and Velocity (a female speedster). Gatecrasher sneaks in and steals some of the serum that gives Velocity her powers. He is immediately caught of course.... well, they see him do it and get angry. It takes awhile for them to actually stop them because now he has super-speed.

The Titan suggest they let him join, try to teach him some responsibility. They give him light jobs at first which just serves to tick him off because they are boring. When he gets annoyed and bored, he gets... tricky. Eventually they just allow him to come on normal missions. Oddly, Velocity's serum doesn't wear off of him, so his super remains. On one mission he shocks everyone when they must battle the evil organization "Komodo" for the Bisento (Halberd) that created japan. It is a powerful magical artifact that chooses Gatecrasher for it's host. now he has the ability to create and control earth.

after a few months he begins to get bored again. He gets reckless again. The team tries to reign him in, but the more they press, the more he rebels. Finally, as a team they decide he is too irresponsible to have the powers he does. Rid'ik'iks says that his planet has the technology to remove the powers without killing him. They agree, despite the fact that The Titan is sure Rid'ik'iks is hiding something. What Rid'ik'iks is hiding is that the prodedure is incredibly painful and unstoppable once it's begun. They manage to force Gatecrasher into the chamber and seal him in it. It is only once the process begins that they find out about the pain Gatecrasher will endure. The titan won't leave him. He sits beside the chamber, listening to Gatecrasher scream in agony and pain. For seven days. The only respite is the few minutes every couple of hours that Gatecrasher actually passes out from the pain.

The plan fails though. on the seventh day the chamber begins to malfunction, then finally fail. it explodes, and Gatecrasher sands there pissed off, stronger, and more durable than ever. The chamber was not designed with his magical abilities or mutated genes in mind. Just the velocity serum and his alien intelligence. Because of the failure of the device, those powers weren't harmed. Finally the Reserves are called in to stop him. He is finally sealed away in a pocket dimension.

He remained there until Amelia (Powerful) asks for the Reserves help in rescuing her ex-girlfriend (Blast Chamber), who has been kidnapped and taken bodily into Hell. Because of their ties to an Angel (Thanatos, the most revered angel of death in heaven), none of them can accompany her, HOWEVER they will help her. They agree to send her into the Nether-realms (Heaven, Hell, Purgatory based on The Divine Comedey). They want her to have protection (she's rather famous and beloved), so they send with her one of the most powerful beings they know of: Gatecrasher, after fitting him with a collar that will yank him backwards by the throat, which is still a nuisence for him. They also need someone who has died and returned. So they get The Dead-Man. They do their best to solidify his sanity. They then transport the trio to Purgatory. From their they make their way from purgatory to to Hell. As they cross the River Acheron, they discover (from a Ferry man who has a cockney accent) that all is not well in Hell. There is a group known as the "Malcontents" who don't like Satan's methods of do whatever it takes to get more souls. They want Lucifer to come back, who after a couple centuries in Hell began to regret his actions and turned over a leaf. He deiced to to the job God gave him and punish those who were guilty. Satan though, "We will do that, AND we will raise an army of the damned to one day break the gates. When Lucifer descented, he was thrown out. They are joined by a cloaked stranger calling himself Morsta outside the gates. He is one of the Malcontents.

When they finally make their way into the City of Dis, Hell proper, the first thing they do is locate the one demon they know was involved with the kidnapp plan; the succubus Lilith. She doesn't put up much of a fight, as she is rather unhappy with her place in hell. She doesn't really like having random sex with whoever she's assigned. As they search the City, a massive place, Gatecrasher starts to listen more to Amelia's lecturing about responsiblity. He also comes to care for Lilith, who returns the emotion. Morsta proves to be high in the ranks of the Malconents. Finally they meet with Hell's Captain of the Gaurd, Malacoda. Malacoda orders the rest of the guard not to accost the "Flesh". he promises no protection for either Morsta or Lilith, but Gatecrasher growls that any who wish to assault her will have to go through him.

Finally they find the right place. They enter a room to find two people in it. in front of them is Blast Chamber, tied to a chair having obviously been tortured. She is bruised, bleeding, and teetering on the edge of death. Amelia draws her weapon on the other figure, a handsome man in a fine suit sitting behind a desk. he has some gray in his hair, and horns upon his forehead, Satan. He greets them warmly, and seems genuinely surprised that Amelia is here in flesh, much less with back up. HOwever he is not surprised that she came for Blast Chamber. he offers her a bargain: die and not only will all the "Flesh" get a free pass back home, unaccosted, but Blast Chamber's ledger (record of sin) will be whiped clean, an act that can only be done by God or the Lord of Hell. Satan explains that as things are now, should Blast Chamber die, she would go to hell. Satan even explains that Amelia's soul is good, and if she takes the deal, she would go to Heaven, not hell.

Gatecrasher, being a natural prankster, sees what's going on. Satan doesn't care where Amelia's soul goes, just so long as she's not on Earth. Amelia must have some role to play that Satan doesn't want her fulfilling. Satan is displeased when his plan is found, but not unprepared. Warrior demons fill the room. "One way or another, at the very least YOU will die," he tells Amelia. Before she can answer, Gatecrasher steps forward and challenges Satan to single Combat. No weapons, to allies, no magic. Just fist, foot, and in Satan's case, wing. The deal he offers: If Satan wins, he not only gets all the "Flesh", but also his magic Halberd (A purified weapon that would return to it's place of origin when it's master dies). Gatecrasher can will the powerful weapon on to Satan. However, if Gatecrasher wins, not only do all of them go free, but he releases Lilith from her servitude to Hell. Satan agrees and the fight is evenly matched. As Gatecrasher starts winning, Satan cheats, though without Gatecrasher knowing. Morsta, did see though and interfers. Gatecrasher repremands him, but Morsta smiles. He starts speaking in a ringing voice that carries throughout Hell. Satan's right to the Throne is challenged. Morsta throws off his cloak to reveal an angelic form, similar to Satan's, though with larger horns and black wings. Morsta is Lucifer! As Lucifer and Satan do battle, the demons loyal to Satan attack. Amelia and the Dead-Man do their best to defend the defenseless Blast Chamber as Gatecrasher reclaims his staff and he and Lilith lay waste to the demons who are attacking.

This is when the Malbranche (Guards of Hell) arrive lead by Malacoda. Seeing whats going on, Gatecrasher asks Malacoda what he'll do. Malacoda smiles, then whips his scorpion like tail in Gatecrasher's direction, impaling a demon that was about to attack him. With Malacoda and the Malbranche joining the fight the demons loyal to Satan are pushed back, and Malacoda joins Lucifer against Satan. Satan is cast back into the Ninth Circle where he is once more frozen in the ice and transformed back to his monsterous form. Lucifer assures them safe passage from Hell and into Purgatory, while Amelia (who is beginning to realize she still loves Blast Chamber) carries their badly wounded target the entire journey, insisting "She's not heavy."

We flash forward after they return to earth to four years in the future. Amelia is shown preparing for her wedding with her mother and others fretting over her. Her father pops in for a short visit. then Gatecrasher is seen in a tuxedo. He comes through the wall to greet her, and she smiles addressing him warmly. there is a knock at the door. Gatecrasher sticks his head through it and those in the room hear him say "You can't see her until the ceremony!" on the other side we see Blast Chamber in a feminine-cut tuxedo snapping at him that the rule only applies to guys. He points out that while she's a woman, she's still the groom. She threatens to Un-bestman him, but is undercut by Amelia from inside the room. Amelia and Blast Chamber talk through the door, at which point BC says she just wanted to tell Amelia that she wasn't nervous. We get the ceremony and the reception, very lovey-dovey and fluffy. The Union is there (as Blast Chamber and Gatecrasher are both members in goodstanding), the Reserve is there (even Thanatos who is supposed to be back at word) she even says she brings presents from two parties other than herself. One who is too busy at the time running the universe, and the other who can't attend because it's on holy ground. (God and Lucifer) It is implied that Lucifer is still fighting to control Hell (and possibly Satan). Thanatos talks a little about how God thinks humans get wrapped up in the pomp-and-circumstance and forget about the intent and reason. She says God thinks that to day they are merely signing papers on somethign that happened more than a year ago. The girls are happy with that. They are officiated over by a person of unknown religious affiliation (looks like a preist or preacher but not a specific kind), and the state they are in is never revealed, but the joke is made when the Titan (who was put into a coma in the late 40's) asks if this is legal, to which Gatecrasher replies, "Not in all fifty, but in this state it is."

Young Love

Katherine Prima Grendal is the only daughter of Lord Grendal, Sovereign of Maladeesh, a former soviet satallite that he turned into a dictatorship. He is regarded by most of the world as a cold Dictator, with a thirst for wold domination. IT lead him into conflict on several occasions with Super-heroes, mostly the Family Five. Katharine came about as a result of what Lord Grendal would call his one weakness; his wife Jezebell. He loved her, of that even his enemies were sure. She softened his hand some, and why not She'd once been a member of the Family Five. She was killed a year after she gave birth by cancer, which was an ironic side effect of the radioactive accident that gave her her powers. Katherine has turned 14 this year. She is brilliant, having been raised by a man who has pushed the boundries in science and sorcery. She is her father's jewel.

Danny Five is the son of Greg and Donna Five, two of the founding members of the Family Five. His parents, along with His father's younger sister Mary, and his mother's older brothers John and Daryl Frist, were caught in the blast wave of a radioactive explosion of unknown origin. It altered them all severely. His father was granted exponentially increased intelligence. His mother was given the ability to move through solid objects. His Aunt Mary could generate electricity at will. Uncle James and Daryl however were fused into a two headed mass of muscle. While their strength was increased they were horribly disfigured. They set out to use their new powers to improve the world, leading them on fantastic adventures, but binding them close as a family. Danny was born with powers as well, telekinesis. At just 14 he is highly accomplished with it.

Katherine lives in the Los Angeles Embassy for Maladeesha, with her father. one day while shopping on Rodeo drive she gives her guard the slip, and bumps into a handsome boy her age named Danny. The two hit it off and are quite fond of each other. Will these two become a sad retelling of Romeo and Juliet? Or could they perhaps be a chance to once more soften a dictator?

It occurs to me that that it would be awesome if - at the same time as it occurs to me I'm almost certainly not the first person to suggest it would be awesome if - back when Daredevil declared himself Kingpin, he'd actually delivered on something like that premise, rather than going back to, whatever its merits, basically the same standard superguy-beats-up-superbadguys model of doing things. Something along the lines of him actually building up from street-level an organization functioning as something like a traditional Mafia though obviously something Matt intends to serve a more benevolent purpose (though this would of course run into problems down the line which he would then have to deal with). Flipping small-time hoods to work as his informants, recruiting people to serve his vision of what Hell's Kitchen should look like, less of a focus on catching muggers or mobsters or ninjas in the act and more maybe one of them gets away with it at the time and then he - or better still his boss - turns up a week later in the middle of a public street with every bone in his body precisely and deliberately broken. Take Daredevil's ethos of vigilantism and project it onto an entire organization and play out whatever the logical consequences of that would be.
