Chapter 24 - "Four Months Later" - Discussion Thread 9/24/07

How did the Bennett's become the least interesting characters with Parkman becoming the most interesting? Quite a reversal.

Fantastic stuff! I thought when Nathan looked in the mirror he was seeing a burned and scarred Peter, I dunno. And Hiro will definately become his own hero by the looks of it. Then again, Kensei looks like he has his own powers, so I dunno. And Peter........yeah, I think he's the boogeyman Molly keeps dreaming about. :wow:

The new boogeyman has already been confirmed to be [BLACKOUT]Matts dad[/BLACKOUT] I think

About Maya and Alejandro...

Maya's powers seem to be the ability to infect people with some type of plague...between this episode and the online comic. I think I read somewhere that Alejandro is her twin and he's connected to how her powers work...maybe his power is that he's able to cancel out her power...it would explain why she killed everyone on the truck while they were seperated.
]

Aw man, that makes so much sense. And we definitely know of a plague that will be a problem this season.

Yeah, but the fat King Midas dude suggested it had the ability to mutate and affect normal humans.

I liked last night's episode but I was confused about Nathan. . . .

Didn't he win a Senator spot on the elections? Can someone please explain?

Thanx.

Yeah, but he left and 'died' or something to that effect. The guy playing him did an interview saying what happened, and that it would be revealed in the 4 months ago episode.

Was I the only one that was a bit underwhelmed with this premier? I mean, Peter shocking that dude at the end was kinda cool, but the rest of the episode felt like the middle of last season where it just kinda dragged on and on.

she's a walking disease if u will she can give people a virus/disease, whatever by coming in close proximity to them. But when he brother's around it cancels it out and/or she can control it better.

her brother is sort of like a cure to her...once they split..it goes off..from the graphic novel:ninja:
i don't think that's it. wireless' website included articles from newspapers that referred to deaths of some workers with black stuff oozing from the corpses. last week's graphic novel is pretty much the same. then last night, we see black stuff oozing from the corpses as well. it's something beyond hemorrhage.

One thing I am wondering is why the heck is Claire & Nathans relationship so ****ty ? You would think after Nathan showed Claire that he is not a bad guy or bastard or monster you would think they would be okay & Nathan would want to try & get involved in her life more. What the hell happened to those two ? & my guess on the NYPD wanting Matt is that they found out he helped take out Sylar I guess. Granted Matt didnt do much but he did help distract him.

Well this was the season premiere, its not suppose to answer all the questions this is one of those shows that gives just enough info to keep you coming back for more. Keep watching and im sure the pieces will fit into place soon enough

1) Peter's cliffhanger.

Peter is OBVIOUSLY amnesiatic... and if he can't remember who he is, then he can't remember others, which means that he got that power from one of the three men standing in front of him RIGHT THEN.
not true. Peter absorbs abilities whether he knows the other person has a power or not. the character's mental state is a large factor in how the ability manifests. in this case, it was just a reflexive, instinctual action. his remembering others is how he controls his abilities. so this ability could have, and most likely did, come from elsewhere. after all, SOMEone had to have rescued him, SOMEone had to have placed him and chained him in a shipping container

3)Best thing about this episode for me was when Kaito Nakamura said there were 9 left, after naming the three dead ones (meaning "Dallas" Petrelli is confirmably, totally, dead.)
or that he believes him to be dead.

Production suggests this season while have two volumes, so I wouldn't count out the last of the twelve dying by Christmas. But I sure wish I had gotten to see Kaito's power in the present day before he died. Perhaps he can't do it without a sword?
i wouldn't assume that Nakamura is dead. these people do have unknown abilities after all.

Even last season they didn't have a great relationship, she was kept from him and distracted by the campaign, and obviously the loss of his brother has made him throw everything away including claire.

also if you notice when Ando looks over the edge the killer is gone they even mak a point of having him look for the killer. maybe Nathan knocked him over then flew away as they were falling. The last cause for the theory is motive Nathan must surely hate the group seeing it was their plan to let Peter blow up New York and cause this whole mess.
the killer wasn't gone; he was lying under Nakamura. i doubt the hooded figure is Nathan.

This was def a great episode to me and I am once again hooked on the show.

I'm pretty sure that it was himself that was burned and scarred. It's gonna be a dark season. I can feel it.

That was pretty average. The twists were so obvious, it was like a mish mash of old twilight zone cliches. Hope this gets better. Mohinder's voice overs are so annoying! Climate change, diminishing resources, terrorism. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I can't believe they did that in the pilot, but again? Oy.

The new boogeyman has already been confirmed to be [blackout]Matts dad[/blackout] I think

Actually the guy who recruits Mohinder is supposed to be his dad last I heard.

Oh and I thought it was a fantastic episode, people just need to step back and think what it would be like to be in the situations these people are in and the way they act seems perfectly acceptable.

flying boy looking at claire ..creepy
hrg taking it to his boss..i loved it

molly and parkman...soooo cute. I wanna know why matt and his wife got divorced...mmmmm

i feel bad for hiro....the person he looked up to.. ..is a joke

this show was freaking amazing!! I was really shocked about Kensei his character seems to be really comedic. The Bennetts do seem to be boring except for Claire and her boyfriend. Maya and Alejandro seem to have a good storyline. Molly And Matt's Relationship is quite cute. Nathan needs to shave. And Pete.... well he needs some clothes.(Peter is going to be the most intresting of them all)

Peter manifests the ability regardless of how WELL he knows the person or not. If he doesn't know them at all, then he can't use the power, otherwise, he would have all the powers in the world from all the people he's never met. It could not have come from elsewhere, otherwise, Peter could always pull powers from elsewhere and he wouldn't have to run into/meet people to use their powers.

The power belongs to one of the three guys standing in the crate.

But your other corrections are on point.
