The Mandalorian Chapter Eight Spoiler Thread (Season 1 Finale)

FYI the Scout troopers were Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally, at least doing the voices.

Also to be perfectly honest, a lot of what was said in this show this season about Mandalorians sort of conflicts with what was established in Clone Wars and Rebels. Mandalorians were clearly more than just a creed.

I was confused by this as well. In the most obvious issues is that this was Jon's origin story for Boba before there was an AotC and TCW. So they had to switch it up a bit.

I think they can fudge it. Mainly as we have seen completely different races of Mandos, but clearly there is a bloodline thing. So it can kind of be both. Like being Jewish. :D

One thing I like about this idea is how it sets them up as adversaries of the Jedi. In that they both "recruit". Also I do like how they think they are a bigger deal to the Jedi then they perhaps are. You know, with the Sith. :hehe:

The way I see it, we already have 2 flavor of Mandos in canon. The New Mandos and the Death Watch. And even Death Watch had a split eventually over Maul. So, a third group of Mandos, with a more hardcore warrior belief system makes sense to me. We still don't have many details of the civil war that devastated Mandalore and lead to the rise of the pacifistic New Mandos.

But man, they really need to figure out a better way of keeping track of the Darksaber. The Mandos lose it more than I do my car keys. It was great to see the Death Watch Mandos in life action. Hoping to see some Maul Mandalorian armor next season.

I like the T2-esque way IG-11 went out. And Gizmo's face during the speeder bike rampage through the town was great. The ferry droid was a great new astromech design.

Good season, can't wait till season 2.

We don't agree on everything Vile, but this is definitely one we agree on.

The Yoby getting punched while in the bag, was to much for me, I didnt think it was funny, And it left a bad taste, for what was otherwise a great episode.

I died. It was hilarious, especially when the other guy came back around and hit him harder after he bit him. :lmao:

Star Wars Explained guy wins the Boba Fett bet.
If it is a question of whether Boba showed up or not, well we still have no idea who was at the end of episode 5. And considering Ming-Na is still missing in action, the chances of it being Boba have probably gone up.

John Campea said earlier today that even before the season started someone close to production told him that Boba Fett was originally supposed to show up in the finale which is honestly what I was expecting as well and was surprised and kind of bummed that it didn't actually happen. I guess that's something that they will explore more of in Season 2.

I also found it pretty hilarious that neither of them could hit that damn can showing just how awful their aim really is lol. I can understand why some people won't like Baby Yoda getting hit in the process, but for me personally that is what made even more satisfying when we see them getting wrecked by IG-11.

I can see why Jedi and Mandalorians would be in conflict. One group takes kids away from their families, and the other group rescues orphans.

That was epic finale! Totally worth the waiting!

In total, I'd summarize that this was great season, I watched ROS last week, I can't believe that they managed so good series and so poor movie. Can't wait where Mando will go in season 2, finding force staff? Luke? This show has been good since the get go. F&F just get it. I don't know if I've been this thrilled with a product since the PT. I feel like my 10 year old self stepping out of TPM all over again! Bravo. Huge grin here. The most fun I've had in the universe for some time! In fact I beg you, Jon Favreau - please have Luke Skywalker cross paths with Mandalorian and the Yodaling at some point in Luke's journeys. I have no shame, and there would be no depth I wouldn't sink to be able to express my love to Mandalorian if Luke graces its screen.

Regardless, given the response to The Mandalorian and how promising the Obi-Wan series seems on paper, I think the future of the franchise is rooted in Disney+. Give the films a rest for a while.

We never got a full reveal on that character from end of episode 5. So I'm not counting him as Boba Fett. Star Wars Explained wins the bet.

Whoa, there was an even deeper cut than the dark saber here. The Flametrooper is exactly the same design as the Incinerator Troopers from The Force Unleashed.

I wish I had a failed trilogy that made 4 billion at the box office. :csad:

Also Solo rocked, and Rogue One was the not great one.
It’s clear they were talking from story standpoint and not box office.

I thought Solo was fine and like Rogue One more than all the Disney Star Wars films so far.

Okay but for real, when will we get a sneak peek of the Kenobi show? Will Mandalorian Season 2 happen before it releases?
