I gotta say, I miss Lana... :( No matter what the many *edit* nay sayers on here say, Kreuk has a sweet quality to her acting and imo 10x the chemistry with Tom than Erica (blech).

Also, I gotta say I'm missing the dynamic of the relationship with his parents, in particular his father :-/

Pete I don't actually miss on the show. He didn't annoy me, but there was never a void in his absence imo.

bwhahahaha... IMO, I think she was the worst skilled actor on the show... and perhaps this continent, if not the world. Acting, like one is acting, is not acting.

I'll hop in here before the Lana Haterz take over. :D

Speaking as a big fan of KK and Lana, I do miss her presence on this show, just as I miss MR/Lex.

But... I also understand that story-wise, after 8 seasons of Lana and Clark being used as a source of doomed angst, the show HAD to move on. Once they cast a Lois Lane on this show, and continued to have her as a regular, Lana's days were numbered. That's just common sense for a show based on an established mythology that is working towards embracing that mythology more than ever in this possibly last season.

So, yes, I do miss her presence on this show, a lot even, it feels like a different show to me this season without Lex and Lana. Fortunately, I think they've done wonders with Erica's Lois Lane and her interactions with Clark. The show needed a heavy dose of "fun" and those two are always entertaining to watch. I'm not one who really feels a lot of romantic chemistry between them, but I like Lois enough to be able to roll with it anyway. Erica has really stepped up to the plate and hit a home run in terms of embracing this role in a much more layered way than she was initially. I love her serious and thoughtful moments with Clark, more than her snark, really. I'm glad they are showing us more and more of that. It goes well towards establishing a believable relationship between these two people as "soulmates" in the future.

I'm kind of dreading Lana's return, not because of the expected rantings from those who consider her a threat to the new direction of the show, but because I'm worried the writers will fall into their old habits of using her inconsistently as a story device, as opposed to a consistent characterization. For instance, I don't want to see 5 episodes of Lana showing us ONCE AGAIN, why she and Clark aren't *meant to be*. WE GET IT ALREADY. I think the new powers have done a bang-up job so far of progressing all the characters, and I hope they stick to that formula for Lana Lang, as opposed to dragging her back to square one.

SV fans have always defended SV's penchant for taking the mythology and putting their own twist on it, and I'm really hoping that they won't put Lana and Lois in a cliche' catfight situation over Clark. If anything, SV has established several times that Lana is willing to sacrifice what she wants (Clark) for what's best for Clark and his destiny. I'm hoping that there's a continued acknowledgment of that from her - even in regards to Lois - before she leaves.

I do think that for losing 2 of their original 3 leads, the show has done an amazing job so far.

But yeah... the chemistry between TW and KK is, and always was, incomparable to any other on the show. Those SV folks have a fantastic track record when it comes to casting for this show.

I don't miss Lana.

But I do look forward to each character making a guest appearance because the show has moved on to bigger things.

I miss...
Pete
Johnathan
Lex

I don't miss...
Lana
Lionel
Martha

What this season has done so far, I haven't missed Lex, Lionel or Lana at all.

Don't get me wrong, Ive enjoyed all their performances over the years, but PS3 is doing something right....

I almost miss Lionel more on the show than Lex. I've always felt Glover as being the strongest actor of the show. I would like to see Lex interact with Tess though.

I've gotta say, you managed to make good points for both sides of the coin in the post :o

I miss Johnathan the most.

Lex is missed, because Rosenbaum is soo awesome. But really, I can't see where his story would be going. It would be nice for him to have an episode here and there. But i'm glad he's not one of the front runners this year. The worst thing they could have is more characters with no idea what to do with them.

I miss Lana a lot. But I miss season 1 and 2 Lana. Before they decided to alter her characterization due to not having anything really to do. Lana's character would be perfect as someone for Clark to go to and really confide in. Lets face it, Chloe's busy doing random crap, He's not quite secure enough with Lois to really confide a lot of stuff with her, plus Lana already knows his secret.

Lana should come back without and wild and crazy crap. No laninja. No witches, no BS.

Characters like Pete, Martha, and even Lionel really, were all characters I really liked. But can't say I'm missing. Specifically now that the show's gotten interesting again.

I miss Helen Bryce.

Helen was really interesting character. In hindsight, I think it's pretty cool how well they totally flip-flopped her character from caring physician to murderous gold digger. That actress really did a nice job playing both.

I agree they dropped the ball on a regular basis in how they wrote Lana. And when we got the post-Lex, post-pseudo-baby, post-revenge filled Lana who finally knew all about Clark's secret, and had settled in with him on the farm - poof, she was gone. Too little, too late.

Lana will be coming back as Chun-Li.

Maybe she'll drop a spinning-bird kick or two on a few bad guys. :D

I don't miss any characters that used to be on the show. In point of fact, I'm glad some are gone. Apart from a few minor complaints, I love the new direction and focus for all the characters, especially Clark. I honestly don't miss Lana, Kara, Martha, Jonathan, Jason, Pete, Whitney, Helen, Nell or Gabe. And Lex is mentioned enough in each episode to keep the fires burning. Hell, with Tess living and working out of his mansion, it's like he never left.

While I don't miss anybody, there are a few characters I'd love to see come back for an episode or two. Lex goes w/o saying, but I'm not holding my breath on that. Bart and Perry are a very close second. Those two characters light up the screen every time they're on it. A flashback episode with Lionel would be nice, but w/o Lex it would be pretty pointless, IMHO. Maggie Sawyer would be awesome, but I think she's long since been forgotten. Pity.

Of the current cast, my ideal main line-up of protagonists would be Clark, Lois, MM, Jimmy and Chloe, with guest appearances by Oliver/Green Arrow and the JLA. That would be perfect. Antagonists... eh. I'm easy. Current ones are fine, though I do admit something is missing. Hopefully, that will all iron itself out over the course of the season. Anyhoo, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. For now. LOL

PS: WTF is a "nay sayer lady?" Typical. :whatever:

I just meant that a good majority of the female fans dislike Lana while a lot of the male fans still like her. Sorry if that generalization was offensive. I'll edit it out for ya.

Really? Because on this board (which is really my only comparison) a lot of the ladies are either meh on Lana or really like her or Kristin. And if they don't like her, they rarely flame about it like some of the guys do.

For some reason the boys around here who dislike lana's character feel the need to tell us at every possible moment, even when it's not relevant. They want the character to die, when we haven't even seen her for ages.

Oh well, just an observation.

i freaking looove lana!! i miss her a ton! but i hope when she comes back it nots really forced.

i miss clarks' parents. and i kinda miss kara. he is not even looking for her!

i do not miss pete.

im glad we've moved on from just the luthers as bad guys. we needed new ones.

I miss Gwen...I mean Alicia. :)

mmmmmmmmmmm

I miss Lex, Lionel, Martha, and Jonathan.
