I don't know if this has been discussed, but the reason that there has been rumors that he ripped open the shirt and there was nothing but a t-shirt or what not was because that is how it was filmed. It seems like they added the \S/ in with CGI.

I wouldn't be suprised if this was one of the editing changes though. In the original script (and perhaps filming) he definitley had a t-short underneath...but perhaps one of the scenes that were cut to shorten down the movie was the extra trip he has to make to the janitor closet at the daily planet to get his suit.

Loved it. I know the guy who Edited it. He even told me about one Music Track he used & it turned out to be the last Choir Track He did tell me to get my Production Music CDs ready last week lol

i think there are two options:

1. they added the suit with CGI because the suit is very thick and when he would run down the street with hes normal clothes plus the suit under it would look extreme ugly. this suit is not like the one reeve and cain were having. it is bigger and it would not look right under normal clothes.

2. they were going the cheap goerge lucas path. lets put the suit later with CGI. but this would go against everythign what singer wants. he would never used a CGI suit under clothes if there would be another way.a better way. remeber singer wanst everything practial if it is possible. plus we all knwo that in the suit routh is biggerthan when he is in clark kent clothes. because of the padding.

3. ok but there is also a 3rd option. and this is this pic

here it doesnt look wrong. but ok here he has also a suit on.


i think ading it with CGI was the only way and i also think that this was not finished. because it was to obvious. it was really to obvious that it was CGI. and in a 200 milion budget movie this shoudl not happen.

Just want to say that I have been very critical about this production over the past year mostly for everything that it's not: ie. - No restart, no live action STAS, no Supervillian, bad costume, etc.

After seeing the some of the recent trailers and especially the last one, I think its time to celebrate this production for everything it seems to be: A film made with passion, a serious tone and plot, Hardcore action, excellent special effects, and a movie that seems worthy of the first two Superman movies that would give those films what they deserve: a powerful Superman trilogy.

Looking quite foward to finally seeing Superman in action again!

Cool, Glad your liking what your seeing now! And when you sit down in the theatre on June 29th or 30th, I hope when you leave your satisfied with ehat you watched.

I know thats all im looking forward too, myself.

but one thing that does strike me as odd..didn't people at the show west footage say he shirt ripped in the elevator..i didn't see such a thing.

hasnt it occured to some of you guys that maybe Singer hasnt made his mind up yet? maybe he had plans for Clark doing a blank shirt rip, when he realized that it wont work well with the story he had the FX guys CGI the supersuit in place of the t-shirt and move on with the rest of the story.

Thank you. That really needed to be said, we have seen enough of this type of thing already. I know Im to fault on alot of it.

And if you feel your seeing more footage than you want to see, or hearing too much info about the film, stop reading theads like "New SR Footage from trailer", or just go to the Non-spoilers section of the board, or just stop visiting this part of SHH.

Hey, Im in the same boat as you on this. Maybe the white T shirt thing will be an easter egg on the DVD, like Spider-man popping up with the X-men in the Statue of Liberty on the X-men DVD?

Yeah, but it was an homage there. Seriously, its not THAT big of a deal. its like if back in 78 people complained that he didn't change in a phone booth. That was one of those "iconic" things to Superman as well at the time, but there was only a glancing homage. Instead, we got the shirt rip.

I just got back from seeing X-Men 3.

I strongly recommend it. If you feel like a laugh. It was hilarious. So bad it was good.

No Superman trailer though.
