The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Chris Cooper IS Norman Osborn

I really don't think we have to worry about Cooper having a physical role for a while.

He is dying and will still be dying in the next movie. Until we see him (maybe another end credits scene) cured and that sickly, crooked and evil smile spreads on his face.

LOL at the "I'm disappointed that occasional TV guest star player isn't playing Norman Osborn, oh well, acclaimed Oscar-winning actor will have to do" posts. Chris Cooper is a top notch actor, and should make for a great Osborn. The quality of this cast is really becoming an embarrassment of riches. The first film didn't really wow me all that much, but with how increasingly intrigued by the sequel I'm getting I now want to go back and reassess it.

Hopefully the script allows them to bring out their best

Y'all need to get over this Masse character...

Yep.He was someone brought In for post credit scene as likely placeholder for
norman and now they have a well respected actor as Norman.

You have Norman,Electro,Rhino, and possibilby a green goblin mystery like the
SSM series. That's enough for this film.

Don't forget, Ifans said that the guy in the jail sell wasn't Norman.

Cooper should make a good Norman. I'd like to see him drop that southern accent he's got though. And... he's a little too old for Norman for me. But the question is if he can play a great Goblin in the future. He usually plays the composed type. Though the role he won the Oscar for was for Adaptation and that has been his most colorful role to date.

Hopefully this Norman will be the rapping Oil Tycoon Norman.

Oh, come on, a 60 years old man seducing and knocking up Emma Stone? It's going to be a bit uncomfortable to watch.

They call him rich cuz he's got mo monay.

I just realized something.. With all these great actors, does this tell us anything about how good the script is?
I mean, Cooper, Foxx, and Giamati didn't HAVE to be in this film. They chose to. Yes I'm sure the money was enticing, but it seems like they wouldn't be able to get actors that are THAT good if the script was terrible.

I certainly HOPE thats the case... But we've seen films that have a good cast, and good intentions that just don't live up to the talent. I know that if I were asked as an actor to be in a Spidey film, I probably would give a thumbs up before I read the script or really knew the story.

But, I don't know how choosy this cast is, and the script does have a good chance to be quality!

A lot of Shakespeare level actors have done garbage in their day. Not saying this is that situation, but still.

Great casting, but I'm still confused as hell.

I guess I should appreciate them keeping me on my toes.

I get the feeling we will definitely be getting an interpretation of ultimate goblin when he shows up.

I dunno. Though I think Dafoe did great as the Green Goblin, I still think that people would rather see the 616 characterisation of the character.

Yeah I too think people would rather see the 616 style goblin. but i get the feeling we'll get the ultimate one instead.
on second thought, if its harry that becomes the goblin, i feel like the 616 style would work; but, if its norman then i think we will see ultimate.

Are you basing that off anything or is that just your gut reaction?

Also, I personally would loathe to see Harry become the Green Goblin instead of or before Norman.
