A year ago I'd have suspected Hemsworth would be in it for the long haul and playing Thor well into his fifties, possibly even longer. But after his decision to take more of a break from acting once he learned that Alzheimer's runs in his family and he's likely to develop it, I'm not so sure he'll be as in it for the long haul as I thought.

I wonder how they’ll integrate Thor into this since he’s gonna be traveling the cosmos with Love… Are they gonna keep them together or is something going to happen to one of them? If he where to lose Love he probably would go into the freaking abyss and instead of having depressed Thor it could be the Warrior Madness version of him.

The Russos did an incredible job with Thor in IW so I hope they can get him right once again. Once again the character needs a bit of a course correction.

Yep, a more savage Thor would be awesome to see. Make it more gritty, bloody, with a torn outfit, scars of war, lightning coursing through the body… A visual we haven’t yet, seen fully explored anyway…

However, his long-time PT and Centrtrainer Luke Zocchi tells me that, compared to Thor’s previous outings, the pair “haven’t pushed anywhere near as hard on this film”. Yet, “Chris still looks great”.

“I hate to say it, but I think we’re just getting a little bit older,” Zocchi laughs. “We’re not killing ourselves as much and always thinking more is better. Instead, we’re being a bit more in-tune with our bodies.”

These strength sessions comprise classic muscle-building exercises such as belt squats (“Chris doesn’t put a barbell on his back”), pull-ups and seated dumbbell shoulder presses. The pair have also been paying special attention to Hemsworth’s arms and shoulders, having seen his costume for the film will highlight these areas – an example push day session can be found below.
