Joke? Hahahaha, no he did say all that.

What a troll!

That's not exactly a troll, especially since he's not really trolling anyone, he's just making a statement.

I'm starting to truly believe he thinks what he said is fact and this guy is one of the biggest morons i've seen in awhile.

I really don't understand why people are fawning over JGL's performance. Yeah, Arthur is a cool dude, but that's because he looks suave as **** in a suit and kicks ass in zero G. Whenever JGL opened his mouth, it was just...meh. Nothing short of wooden, imo. It was probably more the script's fault than his, though. He really didn't have a whole lot to work with.

The character is supposed to be a cold straight laced unemotional guy, because of his job. What he did fit the character very well.

For all we know, they
could all be projections given the theroies of the ending. It fits into the complaints of their cold nature. But then again. This is a heist film as well. And notice how none of the character except Cobb have no last names. It can either be that they are projections or that this is a hiest, and it's better not to attach to them too much. Even Arthur who seems to be the most trusted.

IMO it didn't top Momento. The movie is bigger in scope in that it had bigger budget, effects, but Momento is perfect because of it's simplicity.

The movie is perfect in almost every way, I just wish Nolan would shy away from the action, because he doesnt' do action scenes very well. The best moments in Momento are the character moments.
I think both are perfect films and wouldn't change a thing about them but I prefer the story and philosophy in Inception more than Memento. I also don't think Memento is good because of its simplicity, what makes it stand out is how it told it's story chronologically. That was a brilliant way of incorporating the audience into the story and putting them in Lenny's shoes. However both films have very similar themes dealing with time and losing a loved one.

For action, I think Nolan has gotten progressively better. In Begins he was new to it, therefore it wasn't that great. It improved in The Dark Knight and in Inception (I think) he did a great job. The action scenes were put together well, he certainly improving in my eyes.

Nolan...as gifted as he is with the pen...personally I would just like to see him take the next step in style and flare with the camera in regards to angles and what have you...

...I don't know if it's all the recent Tarantino movies I've been watching, but for Quentin, his camera work does seem to add to his films...and I've only recently noticed that Chris Nolan seems to be very direct...it's not a big problem and he'll just probably stick to his guns, but it'd be cool if he experimented more...

Im thinking this will most likely happen after Batman 3

Start listing somewhere around the 40-45 minute mark. This guy is trolling in order to get attention. I admire the hosts for keeping cool and not hanging up on him.

Btw the discussion at the start (before White joins them) is very interesting. They say they liked the film but where kind of underwhelmed by Nolan's choice to keep things more grounded and that in some cases he should have gone all out, like in limbo or i dunno, when Fischer knows that they are in a dream.

Then they make a good point about bullets in Nolan's movies and that inception is like TDK where "the Joker is shotgunning guys and they just fall down, no blood, no torn cloths, nothing". Yeah, that indeed looks fake.

White I tend to try and ignore him.

Uhh they are not going for an R rating it's simple as that.

But you are wrong I know you have not seen it but I would not jump to conclusions:

Inception has some hard hitting bullets not left and right but much more so than TDK. That and Arthur gets shot right in the head, it clearly shows it. And additionally with Satio gets shot there is torn clothing blood and everything. So I will say they are reaching. Same with the dream stuff.

I mean yea once Fischer relizes it they could have done more but that's nto the point. I think too many films of the late 90-'s and this decade are so SFX obsessed it gets tiring. I think that Nolan did enough to make it unique but not over doing it like a child saying: "See!!! Cool huh." It sometimes really does not add much more. And Limbo was pretty crazy I don't know what wanted. Honestly like some have talked about before with me, most of my dreams are quite grounded, very rarely do I have a dream where things get odd, I have but its rare. Most of my places that take place in my dream come from memories, or just settings I believe to be real. Honestly it was the best choice for this film.

I'm listening to it right now. About the 55 minute mark they ask him why inception doesnt deal with spirituality and ideas well enough (according to him) but ROTF which he liked does. He then tries to justify the unjustifiable.

Its hilarious!!!

I havent seen Inception, but in TDK all the people getting shot looked fake. I dont get why other movies can show blood but Nolan doesnt. Batman has never even gotten a bloody lip ffs.

It doesnt matter. Its a film, it doesnt have to stick to how real dreams look or work like. Anyway, i havent seen the film yet, so i am not judging, but there are a lot of people that feel this way and i'm just discussing it.

I mean i understand why Cobb wants the dreams realistic so that the target wont know what's going on, even if according to him we realize that a dream was a dream only when we wake up and find it strange. But if the spoilers i read are correct, they find Fischer in a dream and convince him its reality and that he has to dream to do whatever. So in that second dream, which Fischer knows its a dream, they could have gone all out.

I'm just saying....

Besides the bank manager getting shot, I don't remember a lot of unrealistic shooting in TDK. A minor nitpick to say the least but that's to eaches own.

But even still. If they change the dream, the subconscious becomes aware of its intruders. You can't change the dream its a rule. Even with he Mr. Charles thing if he got too aggressive in changing stuff the maze will be messed up and the subconscious comes after them. It's a rule explained very clearly in the film

It has reasons for why it is that way. Not just because. If the dream is changed mid dream regardless of anything the subconscious will become more aware and more aggressive and kill things. That they can't risk it in this dream because they know if they die this time they go to limbo. More at risk to change a dream so blatantly.

This is normally a film, that I'd say should be rated R, but in this case, Inception is one of the few exceptions where it works as a PG-13 film. Momento would not work as a PG-13 movie, you would have to compromise too much.

Because most of the violence is in a dream scape, it really doesn't have to be realistic violence.

For TDK, the violence was much more old fashioned, in what you would get from a Sergio Leone western, or an old Hitchcock film. So again it doesn't have to be real.

The realism of the dreams in Inception is more to the point of the film over what is reality and what is fantasy. Nolan smartly leaves that decision upon the viewer rather than trying to answer it on film. This is something the writers of Lost forgot when they wrote the final episode.

i wonder if itll retain its 1 spot this weekend

Hopefully.

All I know is my manager a few minutes ago said he took his gf to see it last night and said the theatre was packed...on a Tuesday night. A good sign that word of mouth is doing pretty good.

well the movie has stirred a lot of discussion and buzz. It should be able to hold off Salt.

Although something tells me it won't, I really hope it stays in the #1 spot. Salt seems like just another generic film about someone being framed and another Jolie role that seems much like her past characters.

yeah and plus she has one hell of a fanbase. People love her for some reason.

probably her boobs or her butt.

wheather it beats Salt or not, should be an under 50% drop, so mid 30's. If it can do Star Trek type numbers I expect it will finish anywhere from 186-210 domestically.

I think Inception will destroy Salt at the box office...Book it.
