oh i know the bryce guy is busy with his show i rather have seen him then shaw but that is just due to i didnt like shaw and i hate shaw's actor.

Ugh, an otherwise good episode ruined by the preview for the Christmas episode. I HATE that they are using [blackout]Shaw[/blackout] again. Routh had absolutely zero chemistry with the rest of the cast. He was unbearable to watch on this show. And I like Routh as an actor. But he is just....wooden, comes off as a cheap Bryce Larkin ripoff and doesn't fit with this cast.

i agreed when he was suppose to be a good guy. i think he comes off much better as a villain. as long as they don't pull a 180 twist try to redeem him and let him continue being a vengeful *****e, then I'm good.

Well his character's dead and the actor stars in his own show now... otherwise they may have found a way to sneak him into the final season anyway.

I almost feel like they need to bring Bryce back in at least a flashback. NBC/Universal produces White Collar and it airs on USA, a subsidiary network so I'm sure they can find a way to work things out with Bomer. Bryce is basically the catalyst of the entire series. That's been sadly forgotten since season 2's finale. He needs a cameo.

Shaw coming back was almost a given, though... when you kill off the only remaining Big Bad in play with just 8 episodes left, you're putting yourself in a situation where you have to use a pre-established character to at the very least draw a link to the next round of villains. Not enough time to develop them otherwise.

The thing is, he was such a weak ****ing character. I would much prefer a new villain who actually meshes with the cast (like Volkoff did). They took 3 episodes to turn Chevy Chase's Ted Roarke into the show's most memorable villain. They could've done it again rather than getting lazy and bringing back Shaw.

The thing is, his villainy never made sense. He wasn't associated with The Ring from the beginning. Basically all of his villainy was about getting revenge for Sarah killing his wife. He even acknowledged that The Ring set Sarah up to kill Eve Shaw, but just didn't care because he wanted vengeance on the gunman. That made sense. Him going over the deep end and being killed by Chuck was a satisfying and logical conclusion to the character.

In the second half of season 3, where his performance was a bit better, the character had no logic behind him. He went from wanting to kill Sarah for killing Eve to not giving two ****s about his wife. He had Sarah handcuffed and helpless and ignored her so he could beat up Chuck (who was debilitated before his "reboot,") a bit more. He went from wanting revenge to wanting to overthrow the United States government (with the organization that killed his wife) for no reason at all.

Even when Chuck shot him, he was perfectly amicable to Chuck and told him it wasn't personal with him. Then in season 3.5, he wanted nothing more than to destroy the government all to spite Chuck. The character was weakly written as a villain.

eh, it could be chalked up to him going crazy.or lazy writing, either way I enjoyed it lol. although, I really don't see why he needed an intersect. he was a highly trained assassin, the intersect doesn't make Chuck super human, it simply gives him that very same training in a split second, so Shaw should have been able to fight chuck with out, the same goes for the likes of casey or sarah. that's what bugged me about the season 3 finale.

I really feel like everything should have come full circle and that isn't the Ring/Shaw. It all should have came back to Fulcrum. We still never learned who the head of Fulcrum was. We know that they were part of The Ring and eliminated by the Ring following Ted Roarke's failure to obtain an intersect. It should have been revealed that the command elements of Fulcrum survived and waited patiently to get revenge on Chuck. The reveal of Decker as a Fulcrum agent right before his death would've been a far more effective way to set up the end game than just bringing back Shaw. Plus it would've solved IAmLegend's problem of establishing a proper villain to end the series. Cast a fairly prominent genre actor (someone like Peter Weller maybe) who can play a vicious bastard, and reveal him as the head of Fulcrum. The name Fulcrum alone would be able to establish him.

Instead the writers got lazy. :(

I would have liked it if they established a few more terrorist cells aside from fulcrum. they said fulcrum was a subsidiary of the ring or whatever, and since their called the ring, you'd think they were like a network of terrorist cells like fulcrum, like an anti-U.N or something, each cell represented by the elders. I liked the idea of the ring, i just would have liked it if they had elaborated more on the rings inner working before wiping them off the face of the earth. thus far I'd say Volkov was my favorite villain, followed by ted rourke. great casting, fun to watch, and actually menacing without having to hide behind shadows.

Shaw motivations were pretty clear. Chuck "killed" him and now he wanted revenge. He joined the Ring because the CIA betrayed him.

Matt that is how I feel about routh too. Not much skills and didn't enjoy his character before. He is just not a strong actor at all.

Did they ever explain why Decker had such a hard on for Chuck?

My contribution to this discussion is I :hrt: Verbanski.

I think Decker is working for someone higher up who's got a vendetta to settle and based on the preview at the end of last night's episode in think it might be [blackout]Daniel Shaw[/blackout].

That episode was great. And
Shaw's
return caught me off guard but it is welcomed.

So The Ring part deaux. Sounds cool.

Not a bad episode last night. It was fun to see robecca romain guest star in an episode. He character was pretty interesting. I loved the "toy" device to hurt people with. I also liked we got to see beckman in a good amount of role last night. I have missed her character this season. But its nice to see that the gang is no longer on the crap list and things are good.

Also i totally loled at the bits with devin and eli trying to be spies. It was pretty good. As for next week still dont give a darn about routh returning. Didnt like his character the first time. But hopefully this time they do take him out. But good storyline plot of the virus helps him escape from what looks to be some prision.

Chuck's ratings are in:

I love how everything is so easily sorted out on Chuck, one minute your traitors hunted by the CIA, one quick interrogation later and all is wiped clean! :D

I thought the best stuff this week was between Ellie and Awesome and Alex and Morgan, plus Rebecca Romijn looked amazing! :wow:

If Shaw can escape prison due to the virus screwing things up then how about some of Chucks other bad guys ? Like Michael Clarke Duncan & Stone Cold etc

Well you do have to return its the last few episodes and they probably didn't have time or was able to get back everyone they would have liked.

It would have been great to have Stone Cold, MCD & The Mummy guy all in one episode
