Wow, thats a hell of a lot for a smoke. My first time I coughed a little, I liked it cause I knew it would piss my parents off, and now 5 years later I still smoke.

 

It's easy to get addicted to anything, to be honest.

It just depends on what you have and the time in your life you try it.

I tried weed when I was like 15. I thought it was disgusting and didn't do anything to me so I never did it again until I was about 21. Then I felt something and decided to keep smoking it.

Cigarettes are bad for you but I got addicted to them at a young age. I've quit for long intervals but end up lighting one up every now and then...but it's my choice and I know the consequences.

 

i think i want to slowly kill myself. hense i smoke.

the thing is there are far more dangerous ways to slowly kill yourself but everyone lets it slide...

heart disease is the biggest killer in the western world and what normally contributes to it is having a bad diet, yet you don't see fast food joints being made illegal or fast food eaters have to eat outside.

the only thing with smoking that makes it so taboo is the whole second hand smoke thing where people who dont have a choice can still be affected, and that's fair enough.

but if i choose to smoke in moderation, i wouldn't want someone overweight idiot taking a moral high ground when their life expectancy is going to be a few decades lower than mine.

this isn't a go at you, i'm just being general here.

the whole 'smoking is for losers' or 'smoking is for people that can't handle peer pressure' or 'smoking are killing themselves' thing is really starting to get on my nerves....

even though i smoke, i'm the healthiest one out of all my friends, i can run a marathon, do 40 mile treks, do one armed press ups on three fingers, hold my breath for over 2 minutes at a time etc... yet they still think they can poke their nose in my affairs, it's very irritating...

 

i have my reasons you have yours. i'd prefer to smell abit of smoke than be fat.

 

No thank you. It's the most godawful smell on the planet. Not to mention both my grandparents [who were basically my Aunt May and Uncle Ben] died from lung cancer/emphazema caused by smoking.

 

I don't understand the logic behind smoking. You're paying an assload of money...to die? I'm not taking a moral highroad with this, I guess I'm more concerned for smokers' lives than they are. The money they spend on cigs(as overpriced as they are) could go towards something way more useful, and less toxic too. And boy is the smell awful. I always seem to be downwind of a smoker.

 

I like being a smoker personally... though I hate the expense. I actually quit for almost 2 years until taking it up again a couple of months ago. Of course, when I quit ciggies, I ended up smokin' more weed so the money was still goin' out the window anyway.

I suggest that if you never smoked before to not do it. It's dumb, stinky and a waste of time... but, I love it!

 

A packet of cigs is almost 7 dollars in NY
