The only thing I genuinely liked about this film was Ralph Fiennes. Although it annoys me that yet another movie paints Hades as an evil god.

Maybe someday we'll get a faithful adaptation of the character. Perhaps if Tarsem's Immortals is successful.

Agreed.

It's similar to how most of those angel/biblical films of the past 10-20 years have all made Gabriel turn against God and the other angels, one i've seen had Michael turn too. It just boggled my mind that multiple films have had Gabriel turn evil let alone any angel.

If someone makes another one of those films I want it to be an epic battle with angels and demons not some story about another angel who turns on god.

Anyways, i'm surprised people liked this film so much. It really wasn't good.

Lo, for this tale's digital discus hath not arrive'th'd to this humble knight's village. Soon, hath I been told by the local discus merchant...very soon!
Yet preceding the arrival of this celluloid spectacle, this humble knight shall reside night and day, within'eth a portable canvas shelter and chairs which cockle, upon the gum be-speckled steps of thy discus merchant!
Verily, for this knight's campaign of camping shall insure that I be'ith at the lead of the queue to purchase this discus of The Clash of Thy Titans!

You have some serious issues and way too much time on your hands.

As a fan of Greek mythology who has fond memories of the original, this film disappointed me greatly. I hate the revisions they added to the mythology, such as Perseus's denouncement of his father Zeus, the villaineous role given to Hades (who actually assisted Perseus in the original story), and the romance he had with Io. On top of that, both the fight against Medusa and Kraken were rather subpar and lacked any suspense or threat. Unfortunately, since the movie makes enough money to make WB happy, we will be getting a sequel that will be more of the same. I'm not going to see it in theatre, that's for sure.

Noble Warriors and Wenches of Ye Superhero hype forums! To thee I bring news of this knight's noble quest to screen Clash of Thy Titans! On this day a message arrive'th'd from ye discus merchant, heralding the coming arrival of this most epic of tales, The Clash of Thy Titans! Whence this knight arriveth'd a shelter erecteth'd did I! Assemble'th, did I a plethora of robes and undergarments that this knight's attire shall retain appearance and aroma of one befitting a knight of quality and refinement! A pit of fire to char freshly hunted game, assembleth'd at the mouth of thine canvas shelter! (This knight hath found robust herds of rodents feasting within giant refuse bins of forged steel, ripe for the hunting!)
Just as this knight set off to slumber, the discus merchant emerge'th'd from his shop and inform'eth this knight that the discus be'ith not one for purchase, yet one to be of lending! The merchant further divulge'th'd that this discus of The Clash of thy Titans hath just been lend'eth'd (to local n'er'do'well Chaz Grossman, no less!) and shant be return'eth'd for a fortnight!
"NAY!" this knight cried from the depth of'eth his soul!
Thus, I shall stay in this encampment for a fortnight of days until this discus hath return'eth'd to to shop!

Hi,

Are you sure Hades helped Perseus in the original ? I don't remember it or if he was even in the movie, I know Zeus did help him.

I don't recall Hades helping Perseus in any of my picture books.

So I finally got around to seeing this last night on bluray and it looks really good on bluray but for some reason the overall movie just felt vanilla and by the numbers with nothing really great.

alot of the effects and creatures looked subpar and not very scary at all, I will say though liam and fiennes were good in there respective god roles.
I did wish though we would of gotten more screen time with the other gods like posiedon. I was also kinda bored with most of the human characters like worthington and his fellow soldiers but the one chick going on the journey with them was something of a hottie.

overall 6.5/10

Only kind of help Perseus received from Hades was a helm for invisibility and that was in the actual myth. It happens in the original except I think he receives it from someone else.

i liked the scenes with the gods the overall movie i didnt like. worthington was choking on his accent, it was all over the place, not sure what accent he was even doing by the end of the film. he went through the spectrum of accents, lol

mmh yes, I remember, in the original Zeus orders the gifts from three other gods.
From memory: ]the shield from Athena, the sword from ??? ( maybe Ares ) and you said the helm from Hades but I 'm still not sure, I must rewatch it.

Athena : the helmet
Aphrodite : the sword
Hera : the shield

Don't forget he got his wings so he could fly from Hermes.

One Third of all the angels fell when they rebelled with Lucifer so it's not completely out of the question or odd to show an angel rebell.

I finally saw this and I have to say I liked it. I didnt think it was as horrible as people made it out to be. But then again I was a fan of the original and I love Greek mythology

Exactly I want a film like that too. 3 hours with great action and good acting and story to back it up. Show Micheal the archangel leading the angels in war against the Antichrist leading the demons for the battle of humanity.

O Proud Knightly Warriors and Nubile Wenches of the Board of Messages of Superherohype!
Forsooth, for thine Clash of Thy Titans discus hath return'eth'd to this Knight's merchant (by ye rapscallion Chaz Grossman. This Knight be-wish'eth this urchin's pimples all burst'eth in unison! And they be-gush'eth lotions of white upon his rotund, elephantine bosoms!). This knight race'th'd home with thine prized discus post haste! Upon placing the discus within'eth this knight's Player doth DVD, this knight discover'eth thine discus be'ith of RAYS OF BLUE! Such a discus be'ith incompatible with thine system!
"Nay!" this knight scream'eth from his very soul!
"Nay" a thousand times, "NAAAAAAYYYYYY!"
This pledge I declare to thee, O glorious chums of these Boards of Messages: Clash of Thy Titans shall one day be mine!

the trailer for this sequel will have to be the best trailer ever as the CotT movie was disastrous.
