Here's to hoping Tarsem and the people behind War of the Gods/Dawn of War are watching this film repeatedly and taking notes on what NOT to do in a Greek mythology film.

I know that's a premature statement since I haven't seen it yet, but this much bad buzz can't be a good thing.

Even if the story sucks for Tarsem's film at least we know if will look fantastic and most likely different.

I'm seriously divided about seeing this in the theatre. I'm definitely not seeing it in 3D but i'm wondering if I should wait for Blu-Ray. I mean the last TV spot pretty much shows how the Australian Perseus kills Medusa, then I hear the Kraken fight is less than a minute long. I really liked The Transporter(1st one, didn't bother with sequels, not the kind of film that needed them)and TIH but it sounds like LL really dropped the ball with this one.

I won't lose complete faith in LL yet but I already don't want him touching The Avengers film due to this film as well as the other two I mentioned lacking more depth and focusing mainly on action scenes.

Is there a new Inception trailer attached to this film?

my theater wont have the 2D . its final today.

so waiting months for the DVD or bootleg

I think i'm gonna check it out anyway simple because alot of the problems critics had with this version , were the same critics had in 1982 for the original. From what I understand the original was mainly popular with kids at the time and the film wasn't considered a great masterpiece , though you wouldn't know that from the way the critics talk about it today. Basically I want to be entertained and get my money's worth. I'm not looking for The Godfather or Million Dollar Baby , I just want to know if the film is a fun ride.

I thought it was a fun movie. But it was a let down compared to the trailer. Few movies ever live up to trailers IMO.

Just tell me this...the original film was basically special effects and an excuse to show a bunch of characters fighting stuff...to be honest if there was a plot I don't remember it.
But I liked it.

Will I like the remake based on those things?

Lol...that is to funny. You will ABSOLUTELY love it then...

I knew this would happen. All the film sites said that with Clash they would have to turn over the other 3d films to 2d. Nope. Looks like all the ones in my area have converted all 2d screens to 3d. GD I can't see any of the 3d movies in 2d.:cmad:

Saw it today. Umm...it's better than the original, I guess. But there wasn't much meat to it. I really wish I didn't see it in 3D.

Ahh screw it!

RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!

And try to have fun doing it! :hehe:

Just came back from seeing this, normally wouldn't go and see crap like this but it's a holiday, I was bored and had nothing to do.

This film is simply appalling. For starters Sam Worthington, ever since he decided to cross the Pacific and try his luck State side something's happened: the guy's forgotten how to act. He's been good in some of his Aussie flicks, but strike me dead it's as if someone over there's told him 'This is how you act in Hollywood'. He really needs to to do something about this coz he's on the border line of becoming a joke.

The plot? Worthington is some dude who's apparently Zeus son who must go off and for some reason kill some scorpions, fight some mangled dude, ride Pegasus and kill Medusa. Something about Hades trying to screw Zeus over as well, I was too distracted by Liam Neeson's costume to give a damn. Ralph Finnes is as cliched a sorcerer type dude as you can get. Gemma Arterton just seems to hang around for no apart reason other than to give out convenient information to our hero.

The action is damn boring, the ending an anti-climax, the acting wooden, the dialog laughable and the popcorn overly salted. There was no effort at all to make anything good here, the people who make this film really need to look at themselves in the mirror for this, where the hell is their self respect? The best part was the Inception trailer right before movie started. All was not lost though, I did pick up Season 5 of The Wire before I left the shopping plaza which I'm hoping will cleanse my pallet of the very bad taste this film left.

3/10 - Mostly for the Medusa sequence which was about the only decent part in the movie.

Season Five of The Wire is awesome!

Looks like Louis Letterier won't be directing the Nolan produced Supes reboot film huh? :oldrazz:

Damn, I missed my theater's matinee showing today. Guess I'll have to wait 'til tomorrow.

I watched this movie from 3 standpoints..a fan of the original, a fan of Mythology and a fan of films in general...only one liked this movie.
As a fan of the original this movie tried to be different for the sake of being different.
Removing Andromeda as a love interest and making Perseus do all these things because he wanted revenge seemed like an unnessesary change.Adding the mankind hates the gods subplot was also needless.

The fan of Mythology absolutely hated this movie.
This side of my brain checked out during a scene on Olympus when the gods were trying to decide what to do with mankind(which was just portrayed by the city of Argos...wonder what they thought in Athens)when on of the gods suggested that they negotiate with the mortals.Really??? Neogtiate??? Like they have hostages or something???? Ofcourse I hate the evilification of Hades

The fan of movies thought it was fun movie. Sure there were some plot holes
why exactly would the Kraken attacking Argos weaken Zeus...infact why would you order something that would weaken you???

all in all I was disappointed in this movie...one day someone will do a mythological movie that is faithful to the source material...hell maybe I will do it

To those who have seen it in 3D is it worth d price of admission? Like Avatar 3D was?

No, it's not.

No, it's supposedly the worse use of 3D hollywood has seen since the red and blue glasses' days.

With all the bad word of mouth, i'm scared to even ask how Calibos was in the film.

apparently Calibos is the husband of Perseus mom...King Acrisus. He was killed in the original...in this he was cursed by Zeus and decided to change his name

Just watched the 2D version and it wasn't that good. It felt extremely cut, and the story was not that strong. I would have hoped for a better balanced movie, but it was mostly just one action scene to another.

Agree. I seen it in 3D and I couldn't follow anything that was going on at all. I also started to get a major headache viewing this film, which I guess was from straining to make out what was going on.
I wished I would of seen it in 2D as well maybe it would of been better or maybe not...
Overall it was a bleh movie and had no substance whatsoever,CGI was good but think I may have liked the original a little better.
*Did like them digging out the golden owl(from original) and telling Persious to put it back :)
