What happened in Hindu mythology?...And what is the Mahabarath?

The Mahabharata is , along with the ramayana , the most influential tale in hinduism. In both cases , gods came down on earth to restore order .
Trust me when i saw there are are MASSIVE battles. Think the LOTR scenes only 100 times bigger with fighters that can take on elephants, archers who posses divine arrows with strenghts that are comparable to nuclear blasts .

Movie avatar is based off Hindu mythology?
The concept of an avatar is a hindu one. When a god comes down to earth in another form , that form is called an avatar.
The IT branchse have adopted the same name when describing a digitial creation on yourself .
And JC is using the same analogy. The lead character inserts himself into a different body called an avatar.

The fact that the Avatar is also blue furthers fuels the theory that JC may have been influenced by hinduism. One of the famous avatars in hinduism is that of Krishna ( i assume you have heard of him) who is always portrayed as a blue being.

Egyptian mythology needs it's due too.. we havent had **** other than the mummy.

That was more Egyptian afterlife mysticism than mythic lore. Just like with Clash of the Titans they f'd it up and said there was more than one Anubis.

The death and return of Osiris is comparable to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Khmetic mysticism is supposedly very broad. I think it even includes fire demons like Pazuzu (The Exorcist) in its tree structure.

Those posters are damn awesome. The Zeus one looks badass and so does the Perseus one. These things will definitely get people interested.

Is there anything to Egyptian mythology other than the Osiris story? I've never heard of any Egyptian mythological heroes.

YES

very much so, people prayed to Zeus etc. etc.

This sentence confuses me, I have absolutely no idea what that means.... like after biblical times did people beleive in Greek god? when after biblical times?.. depending on what you are saying with that sentence the answer to your original question may be "No"...

and I don't think its that far fetched that one day, when superstition and delusion is finally put to bed (though 100 years is rather optimistic) that Christian/Jewish/Muslim stories will be made into movies that are less faithful to the source material, than the ones that are currently made in Hollywood (not that the movies made now about the bible follow it all that faithfully all the time).

Though it should be noted that my post about 3D action epics featuring Jesus and Moses was joke :)

I mean like lets say for instance in medevial times(spelling), did people beleive in greek myth?....what I mean is in other time periods of life, like the time period I said above did people beleive in greek myth.

Only in Greece. It wasn't a world wide thing like the religions we have today.

Where do you think the Olympics come from? The Greeks used to hold them to honour the God's.

considering the narrative of the christian bible takes place over hundreds, even thousands of years, yes Greek mythologies were common and believed in parts of the world during portions of the bible. For example, the writing/compilation of the Old Testament was "completed" around 400 BC, 50 years or so after Xerxes' reign ended. However, the greek mythos faded from collective belief during the Roman Empire (though to be fair, the Roman's really just used the greeks' and changed names).

The thing is, typically mass groups people don't just "stop" believing in religions. Throughout history, religions are phased out by slowly being assimilated into other, more powerful religions. However, conquering nations were known to force an enslaved people to stop worshiping their god(s) to worship the god(s) of the conquering nation.

I think there is Heru/Haroun. He's a prototype of Hercules and his death allowed him to finally see his father. But Horus, son of Osiris, is considered a hero god.

That's interesting. If Heru's truly a prototype for Hercules I wouldn't mind seeing his adventures of the big screen.

Oh Romans changed the names of the GODs.

well, they also stole alot of the greek mythos too, since technically, half their ancestry was relocated greeks.

The posters Own I can't wait until there are released in full quality.

You can say Hercules and Jesus Christ are prototypes of Superman. All were separated from their father but used their power to do great things on Earth.

So Hades got sent to the underworld cause he wanted power and greed?...Also does Zeus have a father?

Yeah Zeus is kind of a *****e.

He shags different women left and right and gets pissed off a lot.

heh, yeah, cutting your own dad's dick off pretty much qualifies you for *****e status to begin with.

....oh wait no, CRONUS did that to HIS father, URANUS.

If you desire a religion where you can shag everything in the dirt, then Greek is the way to go.
