Yeah, Leo had a career...but I think that after Titanic he became an icon. I didnt even see Titanic until many years later, but even I knew that because of the success of the movie that Leo had become a top of the the line A-lister. Sam Worthington starred in the only movie thats bigger than Titanic, and honestly...I still think that he's a nobody. He just seems like a bland everyman with no real qualities of his own. Of course, that works fine for Avatar where you kind of want the audience to imagine that they are in the alien body, or Terminator where he isnt supposed to really be human...but that gimmick only works n certain movies. This dude is displaying no charisma, no personality, no real "star" qualities (and no acting that makes it clear that he will be winning awards someday). He's just there...and that's not a good thing long-term.

Sam Jackson, Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Are not big oscar winners but people are always entertained by there movies more so then there performances and thats likely what Sam is.

Arnold, Stallone and Most big sci-fi and action stars are in the same boat.

Hannibal...with all due respect...

Sam Jackson is larger than life. All of the guys you mentioned were bigger than the roles that they played. You cant just remove Stallone from Rambo and put in someone else.

Sam Worthington is completely replaceable in every role. He is a non factor.

Well i disagree there. People are entertained by those guys, the movies those guys appear in wouldn't be the same without them.

I mean, could you imagine Die Hard being as epic as it is without Bruce Willis? Or anyone else spouting that verse from the bible in such a bad ass way in Pulp Fiction as Sam L Jackson?

I have to disagree. Big Time.

Imaging Sam not being in Pulp Fiction, Harrison not being Han or Indiana, and Bruce not being in Die Hard: these guys have so much charisma, it's hard to really replace these roles with different actors.

Samething with Stallone and Arnold. They have gravity in their roles and their mere presence.

Don't tell me that they're in the same league as Sam. In Sam's defense, he just started but so far, I've gotten more out of Chris Pine and even Shia Leboef in their 'mainstream' movies.

Yeah.

Bruce is one of the few actors who has can pull a street smart-type and be amazingly witty and charismatic without even trying. It's just how he is, and some people are born with it.

I think Jason Statham is rather charismatic myself, although he chose rather poorly on the movies he made.

Statham's is decently stable though. Something tells me Worthington's will fizzle after Dracula.

I don't see Sam Worthington Mania. It's strange. He's in the number one movie of all time, and most people have no idea who he is.

Everyone I know who has the slightest interest in following new movies, etc., knows who Sam Worthington is.

Not claiming everyone thinks he's awesome or whatever, just saying most people know by now who Sam Worthington is.

Have a really hard time seeing Worthington as Dracula....the powers-that-be, for whatever reason, seem to be putting a major push behind him and shoving him into every high-profile role that comes along, but in the long run that's not doing him any favors. If he takes a string of big roles just because they sound like big roles regardless of quality or his suitability for them, he'll have a good little run and then fizzle.

However, if he chooses his roles selectively instead of just trying to get as many high-profile projects on his plate as possible, he could have a future in the action hero mold he seems to be aiming for. Some disagree, but I personally thought he did well in Avatar, he's a handsome man, and most action movies don't make great demands on your acting abilities.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. He might have fifteen minutes of fame and sink like a stone, or he might develop as an actor.

You never can tell about these things :cwink:

Love it. :awesome:

I don't think you can compare Worthington to anyone. He filmed 3 big budget blockbusters w/o people knowing who he was (and he is the lead character). I don't remember any actor doing this.

You guys call biased on me because I don't think he is right actor for this role of son of God Perseius yet you are now all criticizing him and hate him

this is hypocrytycial biasy of the narriest kashti order, and you can KASHTI (BOAT) on this... Boat on it big, as there is only one thing remaining now that you can try to focus on him, I focused on his physical ineptitude to play this role with all the added leg muscles

but now you are tackling his acting ability which I have already cites as problem, yet peoples here are keep think why is this echo man so knared on knocking Sam Worthington down stairs, yet all are doign here in past many postings,

this is just bias, I concern for this overall as Worthington not worth role of Perseius, his last name says it all.

Echo, sam worthington is not crippled, they were not his real legs in avatar

****!

Shia over Sam. come on. that reeks of effeminate gayness

is sam worthington on his way to having a mark hamill type film career?

Shia over Sam. come on. that reeks of effeminate gayness

People like to rib on Shia but the dude has charisma, and people are talking about him. Not so much Sam.

Listen, I like Sam but he needs to find that one role where people can stand by him. So far, he's been fine but nothing special.

What a mature way of putting it.

Listen, I like Sam but he needs to find that one role where people can stand by him. So far, he's been fine but nothing special.

He's actually very charming, funny, and engaging in interviews. He needs to find a way to channel more of himself into his movie roles. He subdues his natural energy too much, is how it seems to me, judging the contrast between Sam himself and his characters.

Is Echostation speaking Klingon, because that's all I'm seeing?

The problem with Sam is...the directors are directing him wrong.

He was in two mainstream Hollywood flicks. One, he was directed by one of Hollywood's worst, and the other, Hollywood's best. He did pretty good in Avatar. Not mindblowing...but good. I think thats what Cameron wanted. A simple action hero. Just like everything else in the movie. Simple, easy, and connectible.

Now with Salvation...the man did the best he could with such a crappy director. I mean, if you can make Christian Bale suck....well...there ya go.

So all he needs is a great director to push him where he needs to go. Sam Worthington, I have faith in ye.
