Watch the Clash of the Titans trailer, then watch the IM2 trailer. Back to back, preferably, like I did.Yea but people like us see through stuff like that.
But do you think moms and dads and the kids give a crap about "character moments"? Course not, well, not as much as some sick as action scenes and amazing CGI monsters.
What I'm saying is there will be some character moments in the film. There has to be in a film like this. But these days all the GA wants is big action scenes and amazing SFX. The likes of Transformers being super successful proves this. So in trailers for big budget movies like this they will always focus on the "money shots".
And anyway there was some character moments in the trailer. Like the women goddess (I presume) pleading to the other gods (I presume). Zeus scenes, Hades brooding on what looked like his throne. etc
HUGE difference. The first half is just a series of lingering character moments. ("Lingering" as in, at least 3 seconds long. Note that I wrote "lingering" to describe such shots.) But fantastic ones, because the filmmakers trust in the acting. Can't go wrong with RDJ.
And honestly, IM2 is in the running to break some opening box office records.I mean, for a teaser it's acceptable to just have shots. It's only a minute long anyway. But 2.5 minutes of millisecond-long shots is just too much and screams "trying too hard to make this look exciting because we know the other stuff isn't."
