Yea but people like us see through stuff like that.

But do you think moms and dads and the kids give a crap about "character moments"? Course not, well, not as much as some sick as action scenes and amazing CGI monsters.

What I'm saying is there will be some character moments in the film. There has to be in a film like this. But these days all the GA wants is big action scenes and amazing SFX. The likes of Transformers being super successful proves this. So in trailers for big budget movies like this they will always focus on the "money shots".

And anyway there was some character moments in the trailer. Like the women goddess (I presume) pleading to the other gods (I presume). Zeus scenes, Hades brooding on what looked like his throne. etc
Watch the Clash of the Titans trailer, then watch the IM2 trailer. Back to back, preferably, like I did. :oldrazz: HUGE difference. The first half is just a series of lingering character moments. ("Lingering" as in, at least 3 seconds long. Note that I wrote "lingering" to describe such shots.) But fantastic ones, because the filmmakers trust in the acting. Can't go wrong with RDJ. :hehe: And honestly, IM2 is in the running to break some opening box office records.

I mean, for a teaser it's acceptable to just have shots. It's only a minute long anyway. But 2.5 minutes of millisecond-long shots is just too much and screams "trying too hard to make this look exciting because we know the other stuff isn't."

The trailer is amazing! They have my $10 in the bag for sure!

The generic feel of the trailer notwithstanding, it already had me at Fiennes and Neeson; though the latter's delivery of "release the Kraken" could've been stronger. Compared to Nighy's, it was little better than a wheezing cough. However, they've certainly done other takes, and what's in trailers doesn't always make the final cut, so all's not yet lost.

Speaking of which, to add to the echo, the Kraken does look pretty damn awesome; and I thought the POTC Kraken was big enough...

I watched both trailers tons of times last night, and I am excitingly looking forward to both.

WHen I first heard about this I was dead set against it. Then I saw that trailer and I'm almost tempted to start following Greek Polytheism.

Wha? Neeson's delivery was sick.

Re-LEASE the KRAKEN!

Why, they didn't do that in the original film either?

Good point but personally I like the use of claymation in that film. It kind of makes her look a bit creepier.

I need to pause the new trailer when it shows her face since I never really noticed it on first viewing. From what I hear from some of you, it sounds like they made her face kind of plain and that doesn't sit well with me.

From what I remember of the stories, she was cursed by one of the female gods(can't remember the name at this time)and was made to look horrid and ugly as her punishment.

Medusa was cursed by Athena, who thought she defiled her temple (Medura was a priestess of Athena) because she was raped by Poseidon on her sacred ground.

Thanks for that info. Forgot which goddes it was. :yay:

So, has anyone heard anything about War of the Gods? I know that most of us assumed that it would be scrapped since Clash of the Titans was already in production, but well... we have plenty of superhero movies, plenty of medieval epics, plenty of sci-fi movies... I don't see why we can't have more than one movie about Greek mythology. Besides, as awesome as Clash of the Titans looks, let's face it... there are a lot of elements that don't appear all that "Greek" and another mythology-based film could look completely different.

I guess I just hope that War of the Gods is eventually made because Henry Cavill was cast as the lead, and in my opinion, he's a good actor that keeps getting cockblocked out of roles and opportunities (first Brandon Routh, Christian Bale, Daniel Craig and now, inadvertantly, Sam Worthington). And I think he's much more talented than Routh and Worthington.

new trailer was incredible...
medusa actually looks pretty badass

Watching it again I realized how bad ass the score is as Pegasus and Perseus are avoiding the Kraken's tentacles. I hope that is actually the score for that sequence. Proper up tempo furious sound.

Cool trailer. Kraken and Medusa look good. Interesting how every other trailer for action movie seems to be using instrumental Metallish songs these days. Works for me:woot:.

wow the trailer sooooo much better than the teaser...much better choice in score/music.

I don't know if that's really fair. If they do it with all the Clash trailers, I would agree. With Iron Man, you know the characters already. RDJ is the reason it was so successful, or course there will be character moments.

i think m gonna lvoe tis film, im a big mytholgy buff and im taking ti as a class, albeit im bored with the class, this seems awesoem, and as far as the kraken, i think i pissed my pants, or i crapped them, alot, its sthat awesome

really? didnt know that
lol im 17 and didnt know that :D

Ah finally the trailer! Really cool looking action flick. :)

"A lot" is actually two words.

Haha. I can spot a few more typos in that post...

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about this movie. I loved the original, it's one of my favourite movies. Honestly, at this point I'm still not 100% sold. I hope it is good, but there's a little part of me that doubts. Fingers crossed.
