There is no faith in humanity when people flock to the theaters to see Tyler Perry's latest piece of ****.

A sequel has been announced already, right? I read somewhere that COTT and Tron: Legacy have already been greenlit for sequels.
"The kind of remake that I wish Hollywood would make more of: Take an old film that had great ideas but wasn't a great film, and get it right the second time."
"Leterrier certainly shows a better sense of meaningful, economic narrative than the mess that Peter Jackson made of the interminable, incoherent Lord of the Rings trilogy."
Say it ain't so. Kratos would be a lot more interesting than a sequel to this crapfest.
Let's see, Zeus brings Io back to life, his so called love interest, but not his family, which is supposed the be the reason for his revenge
there is a God of War movie in active development

While COTT is most definately not a "great" film like LOTR, it not the atrocity that many make it out to be either.
...and I do think it did its job in being overall better than the original.
The shout out to the owl was cute.I don't consider it an atrocity either but it was just really disappointing and could have used more dialogue as well as better dialogue overall. Worthington is the main character and doesn't have nearly as many lines as he should have and a lot of what he says involves saying "I'm a man", it got old real quick.
I won't deny the movie was a bit fun but it was also a major letdown for me.
Just curious but in what ways do you think it did better than the original?
Aside from using modern cameras and having modern effects I don't see how it was better. I'm one of the believers that CGI, whether it's bad or good doesn't make a film good. Not saying that's what you believe but that's just where I stand.
Another thing is that i'm still a fan of stop motion work, even if it is outdated like Harryhausen's work.
My gf and I did like the Bubo cameo though and found it to be a tad bit humerous. It also got some chuckles and a few sad "awwwws" from the audience.
A few of the things I really didn't care for that I mentioned in my previous post was that the Medusa scene wasn't nearly as good as it could have been and they should have shown more of the Kraken. That and I didn't like the fact that they say Hades created the Kraken to help beat the Titans. I think they should have kept it accurate to the actual mythology an had the Gods alone being the ones to take down the Titans. Kind of lame to make it so they needed help from a giant beast to become in charge.
The shout out to the owl was cute.
What I liked better in the remake was the effects. Not so much the creatures, but just things like when Perseus was on Pegasus, it was fluid looking. I also like the black pegasus better. I prefer the darker costumes. I like the look of witches better (but the dialogue was better in the original). I liked having Hades, BUT I didn't like how he was used. It felt like a missed opportunity.
4) Perseus' motives "basically screw everyone... oh if I destroy the kraken then I can kill hades... cool, I'm in... what, Hades can't die?... (why didn't someone tell him that before he went on the quest)
