Clayface written by Mike Flanagan

They must've really been *semi* desperate to get a dc film out because there’s no reason why they couldn't have waited for his schedule to be clear
Yeah, that's what puzzles me too. Given how passionate he is when he talks about this project –he doesn't need to– you wonder why it couldn't wait...

This leads me to believe that Gunn and his collaborators may have digested Flanaghan's script within the DCU enough that his original vision, without necessarily being radically altered, was sufficiently affected for him to drop the project entirely...

We'll see!

They should have just waited for Flanagan. This project is niche and has little bearing on the main DCU narrative.

Flanagan has like half a dozen things lined up. They could've been waiting til 2030. They're a production studio. They're gonna produce stuff.

I think he's passionate about it because he wrote it, likes the character, loves BTAS, etc etc.

I really don’t see the utility of this film creatively as anything but a Flanagan vehicle. Logistically, I get it and think doing it is a canny experiment but I completely fail to see what’s interesting about a completely mediocre director executing a (possibly) heavily rewritten Flanagan script. Flanagan is an extremely unique voice creatively and the only thing cool about this concept is him doing it.

I just think DCU needed something to put out. Doesn’t sound like anything else is remotely ready yet
