Cloverfield Director To Remake Let The Right One In

hey thats me. i have a problem when the only reason a movie is made is because US people dont like to read subtitles. :)

And that's me. I despise subtitles. No matter how you slice it, you're never going to get the original film exactly as the maker inteded it to be seen.....unless you want to spend a helluva lot of time learning a new language. Yeah, not gonna happen. Then we get into the precarious subject of dubs, but those are only slightly better. However, the dub for LTRON that I saw was absolutely abysmal. No one sounded like they were acting, but rather just reading lines in the script. And the main bully sounded like he was dubbed by a 10 year old girl.

I for one am eagerly awaiting this remake and I'll be there opening weekend.

I just found out this was a Hammer flick. It makes me wanna see it.

I haven't seen the original tho.

Have to say that I really like that poster. Can't wait to hear what some of you think of this film.

Is it kind of wrong that I'm more excited about The Social Network than this? How are the reviews on this? Are they really positive?

I will say that I am more skeptical of the Fright Night remake than this one.

Two critically acclaimed flicks next week. I wonder which will lose their 100% rating first.

There simply can't be THAT many "must see" movies. :oldrazz:

Any time Armond White hates a movie, there should be no second thought in your head that it must be a good movie. Dude hated Toy Story 3...Toy Story 3!?!?!?!?!?

He just hates lots of movies...period.

So true. Just read his heading for his Resident Evil Afterlife review. He says that it's better than Inception and Avatar(even though Avatar isn't the best movie of course).

"superior to Inception and Avatar on every level."

Oh Armond...you are crazy. His name is probably an anagram for something evil.

That dude must be smoking some strong ****, I mean seriously. That or he's just being different so people will answer to his attention seeking "look at me" pleas.

The key is to look at Armond's review history. Look at movies he's reviewed in which an overwhelming majority of critics hated it or loved it (like <15% or 85%< ratings). He actually goes against those overwhelming majorities only about half the time. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is an elitist troll, but he could be a lot worse.

Far from wrong, I think it's normal to be more excited for a David Fincher/Aaron Sorkin film than for a remake from the guy who did Cloverfield. I know I am. TSN is probably my most anticipated movie of the Oscar season. That said, the reviews are very positive for both of these movies (surprisingly so for this one, imo, with many actually calling it better than the original), so I think I'll be checking both out this weekend.

Armond White gave Scott Pilgrim a good review. I loved that flick. It's the only time that he's given a good review to a recent movie that I liked.

Other times he gives good reviews to flicks like Jonah Hex.

I'm really surprised how well recieved this is myself. I never expected this. And better than the original? I just might have to check this out then. If I do see it and end up liking it Reeves gets my vote for the Superman director.

White shouldn't be aprofessional critic. I don't mind when someone is in the minority on things, but he just does it puposely to make people talk and for him to get arttention. He's getting exactly what he wants when we talk about him.

Clash of the Titans remake better than the "overwraught" Lord of the Rings. You shouldn't be allowed to see a great film. Whatever you think a good film is.
