Cloverfield Director To Remake Let The Right One In

So has anyone checked this out yet? I want to see it. I loved the original film. I'm curious to see what they change from the original to this.

2 friends of mine caught a screening of it on Monday. Both gave it 3 outta 4 stars. Said it was very very good, maybe a bit unnecessary but still very good. They also said that Matt Reeves really shows off his directing chops in this, and that the acting was great.

That's nice to hear. Had both your friends seen the original? I have to say I'm VERY curious about how this will play to those who haven't (as it seems like most critics who've reviewed it thus far are very familiar with it - which they should be).

I'm really surprised how well recieved this is myself. I never expected this. And better than the original? I just might have to check this out then. If I do see it and end up liking it Reeves gets my vote for the Superman director.

White shouldn't be aprofessional critic. I don't mind when someone is in the minority on things, but he just does it puposely to make people talk and for him to get arttention. He's getting exactly what he wants when we talk about him.

Clash of the Titans remake better than the "overwraught" Lord of the Rings. You shouldn't be allowed to see a great film. Whatever you think a good film is.

He is OBVIOUSLY a troll and people keep commenting on his RT page. Thats exactly what he wants. I don't know why RT even keep him, he makes them lose some credibility imo

They had both seen the original, yes. One of them was responsible for turning me onto the original. I'm looking forward to seeing the remake.

I, however, am more excited about this than The Social Network, which holds no appeal to me whatsoever. I thought the trailer stank of "Academy Award movie", of which it'll probably win atleast 5. And I just have no interest in seeing the trials and tribulations of the dudes who made Facebook.

Well Armond hated it so this is officially an amazing movie! He said that a Rated R movie is not kid friendly. He also hated The Social Network.

First off wow did he really say Twilight is better. Wow. Anyways, I saw this the other night I thought it was really good, the acting from both the leads are just flat out fantastic. It's a pretty slow moving movie which I thought was definitely different in today's cinemas but it worked perfectly. Matt Reeves did a fantastic job directing especially since he was able to get the performances out of the two kids that he did. I can't tell you how it is compared to the original since I've never seen it but I'd say it is an easy 5 out of 5.

Yeah it took me by surprise. There are a few action scenes and they are all really well done as are the attacks by Abby. They are quite brutal.

Only in the age of the internet, where trolling has become a new American pass time, can a "professional" film critic gain exposure for being a troll professionally.

I don't care if he doesn't like a film that every other major critic praises. There's ALWAYS going to be someone whose opinion strays from the herd. It's when he cites profoundly inferior films, and how great they are by comparison.

Agreed. I was crossing my fingers that they wouldn't Americanize it too much by making the pacing faster and more violence than is needed.

I don't think it's fair to peg her as a female Armond White. My biggest problem with White is that he turns most of his reviews into long-winded commentaries on society, or the "evils of the mainstream Hollywood". There's just an utter lack of objectivity in his writing.
