Cloverfield Director To Remake Let The Right One In

It's on Netflix Instant Queue! :awesome:!!!
Just make sure when you have the subtitles on that it says Theatrical subtitles on the back. I mean that's if you put them on. Cause the company messed them up on the first set of dvds, and changed them on the next ones.

So I'm watching this right now, right? I love it so far. BUT!

...

er....

The scene were the two [blackout]lay in bed together naked[/blackout] totally doesn't need to be in the remake.

I still need to check the stores for the Blu-Ray version and see if they have the correct version. I bought it on DVD when it first came out but that was before I knew about the messed up subtitles.

It's funny because my gf has been wanting to watch the film for months but I won't let her until I get the proper version.

I like how they kept the jungle jim and rubix cube.
I dunno, I have mixed feelings on that pic. It almost gives off the impression that they're going for a shot-for-shot remake, which I definitely do not want. But then I realize they're obviously just releasing that pic because it's one scene that's taken straight from the original for fans to recognize, and that I'm jumping the gun with my trepidation. So yeah, mixed feelings, lol.

I will say this - I like the kind of warm, subdued tone all of these pics have. That seems right, at least.

I'll say this now, if it's a shot-for-shot remake, I won't watch it. I refuse to watch them in Bed and her changing into Oskar's mom's clothes again. I felt so, so uncomfortable watching that and I will not watch it again.

Well, I should re-phrase - I KNOW they're not actually doing a shot-for-shot remake ala Psycho, because we've already learned of things that they are changing.

But I'm just hoping Matt Reeves puts a little creativity into the things that ARE the same from the original, rather than re-creating them point-for-point.

Yeah, I agree. Matt Reeves seems to be well enough inspired by the original to faithfully remake the movie in his own eyes, with the same premise. I told my mom what Let The Right One In was about and she goes "Oh so what those vampire wolf movies wish they were?" (Twilight series) I was :awesome: all through supper.

Another thing I really enjoyed about Let The Right One In and potentially Let Me In, is the ending and how it sets itself up for a sequel, but then again really doesn't need one. If Let Me In does good enough in the BO and critically, I could see a sequel. Matt Reeves seems like a confidant enough director to make a brand new idea off of the original.

I bought it preused for like 3.99 at the video store I go to and it has the messed up subs. So when I get a bit more of money I'm gonna one the one they had at Target for 10 bucks, it has the right subs.

Ugh, I really wish I didn't see that.
Yeah, it make you go what am I watching? Kinda makes you feel weird.

it's from the book. The book. Something Matt Reeves said he was looking at.

This isn't directed soley at you, but the original was BASED ON A BOOK! There will be similarities between the films because it is BASED ON A BOOK!

Well it's [blackout]not a vagina[/blackout], if that's what you were thinking.

Eh, they'll likely excise it because it would be deemed too vulgar for this country. Our views on sexuality are infinitely more sensitive than those of Europeans.

Which is a shame as there was nothing sexual about their interactions in the movie.

Actually, for anyone who doesn't know, I've heard (though I haven't seen the source) that they've gone on record saying that they've [blackout]dropped the whole Eli-is-really-a-boy subplot. Abby's just a girl in this one. Well, just a vampire girl. You know what I mean. So that scene definitely won't be there in any form.[/blackout]
