What do you mean when? As early as possible! When can we start looking for hotels? I am soo excited for this year, going to be a huge con for Superhero movies!
It takes a patient, patient soul to spend hours greeting strangers. Many actors are able to do it because they're paid to act, after all.(And yet people bag on obviously introverted actors like Kristin Stewart.) It always surprises me when people are nice at these things. A few hours of directing interacting with that many people and I'd be ready to cut someone. My bf wouldn't last 15 seconds standing in the venue before suffering a panic attack.
Very true about introverts. Maybe he was introverted and a little awkward meeting a lot of strangers. Only thing is that I was roughly 5th in line to meet him so I don't think his patience had run out that quickly. Either way it was a fun time and i'm glad I got the book signed.
Oh, I met Mike Mignola and he was super-nice. Signed a book that I got from him, and it was a free book too. This was on Sunday though, which is much slower and I was actually the only person at the table. Saturday's always the busiest day, followed closely by Friday. Thursday is when you should meet people before they get exhausted and snippy.

For those who went to the San Diego Comic Con this year... how crowded was it? Also, how long did it take to get into panels?

It's impossible to get the ones right next to the convention center (which are booked over a year in advance). Many smaller ones will still have availability until a month or so beforehand.
yeah, we stayed in a small town outside of san diego a year ago... was nice and good price. not far from downtown either
How did you get around town?
The last time I went, we got one that was in downtown, walking distance from the convention center. HOWEVER, this was ONLY because one person in our group was an uber-platinum ninja member of this hotel. He says he wants a room, they give him one, even if they have to kick other people out.Ughh are you series, they are full? That is insane! Anyway we can get them, like through agencies or anything??
I stayed at the Quality Inn a few miles from the convention center my first year and it was fine. It wasn't "nice," though, it was your typical Quality Inn in a borderline sketchy area. Are the downtown motels nice, though? If Spoons and I go, it'll double as our summer vacation. We want to stay at a nice hotel. One of the coolest looking ones of course was booked full already like, 2 years ago![]()

On the aftermath of the second SDCC 2011 online registration fiasco this month, maybe holding out for it as a couples vacation should be rethought. Are the downtown motels nice, though?
