The Amazing Spider-Man Comics Pros Weigh in on the Reboot

I never said you didn't have the comics. i said you need to read them.

I'm not going based on opinion. I'm going based on fact. The points I'm bringing up actually happened, and I'm giving examples of them and where they happened. Do you want me to give page and panel numbers as well?

Nonsense. Taking a punch and then returning one is toughness. For a woman, initiating the conflict is fiery. And it doesn't matter who her father was. Having someone brave in your family doesn't give YOU courage. I'm also curious as to your examples of this for MJ, particularly when Gwen was still around.

That is why I will not be giving you the time of day. You insult me (Because I totally bought a bunch of issues and trade paperbacks I've never even read. Yeah right. Jackass. :whatever:), which means you don't even dignify a proper response.

Moving on...and back to subject...before we derail this thread any further.

This IS the subject. Conway emphasizes in his comment about the need to kill Gwen.

And yeah, you're not responding because of fixating on an off-the-cuff remark of mine? Or maybe you're simply not able to back-up what you're saying?

And further reasons why I'm not bothering with you. You're just a *****e. I could pull things out of my butt right now and spend all this time, but you are just some random guy on a message board and you are not worth my time.

Conway emphasizes the need to kill Gwen, but that's not the main point of what he's talking about. It's what YOU chose to focus on, oddly enough. Oh well. No further responses to you in this thread.

Not getting into this Gwen and Mary Jane argument, but I agree on everything that guy said about Tobey and Kirstin. They may be good actors, but neither were appropriate for the roles they got cast in. I really never felt that energy that Peter Parker/Spider-man is supposed to have.

JJ abrams says
"When I first heard they were rebooting it, I thought, 'Really?'" Abrams told MTV News at the National Board of Review red carpet. "Didn't they just do it? Then I realized, 'No I'm just old.' I thought the first one just came out."
"I guess it's smart, I don't know," he shrugged. "I think, as the director of 'Mission Impossible 3' and 'Star Trek 15' or whatever it is, I'm probably the last one to speak badly about a reboot of anything. So... 'Yay! Reboots!'"
As for "Spider-Man" advice, Abrams decided to stick with what worked for him — for "Star Trek," at least.

Hilarious, since you're continuing to reply. Okay. I'll take back my joke that you're obviously so sensitive about. I have no interest in arguing over something like this. So- rather than debating what you've read and how big your comic collection is, you go ahead and back-up your points with the source material as I've been doing.

Conway begins and ends his statement with demanding they kill Gwen. Obviously this is a sticking point for him.

If you're going to introduce gwen on film (other than the cameo in spidey 3) give her something to do. Make her a viable character. Have any of you seen Spectacular Spidey? It does a great job of telling classic spidey stories in a contemorpary setting, and makes gwen a great character. Something like that in a movie could work. Also if you've read ultimate spidey, they killed her off at one point (thought it was horrible) then brought her back and let her stick around. If they do kill gwen at least do it later down the road not with the first time her character is really on screen. What's teh point in that? It'd be a wasted character. Also the other movies used MJ way too much. I'd be happy if she didn't show up for a while and was characterized differently. Pete's had plenty of love interests over the past 60 years in comics so why not focus on somebody else. The pining after a girl routine got old in spidey 2 lets not repeat it.

He says he doesn´t want a CW show, but this is exactly the kinda thing a studio may read from that and look for in the cast.

You mean like the studio casting Blake Lively in a major role? :awesome:
In all seriousness, let's have some faith and wait until this thing really unfolds before we start to worry.
