Those last seasons without Troy already showed that Abed's character doesn't really work without him. So I hope Donald is in it.

It sucks ,but I am honestly ok if they don't bring back Troy and Shirley, think it's cause although not on the same level as the earlier seasons I still enjoyed the later seasons.

Good for you. I don't even really consider it canon in my own mind. Half of the group was gone, it just wasn't the same show. If I'm doing a rewatch, I'll probably only watch the first 3 seasons. That fourth one is like bad fanfiction.

I really hope that Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown show up for this. It really isn't the same without them, especially Troy.

I could see Glover coming back, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if his role was just a quick cameo. Yeah, Atlanta is about to end, so his schedule may free up, but the man's still forever busy between acting and music, so I wonder if he'd ultimately have the time.

He's got that Mr. and Mrs. Smith show and Lando in the pipeline so he probably doesn't have time for anything more than a cameo if he's in it.

I think Donald Glover could come back. He did do the zoom read through during the pandemic. But I don’t know if he would play Troy as sweet and dumb anymore. He seems too cool to go back to that persona.

Although Peacock and Sony Pictures TV announced production of the film with original stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong, Harmon confirms to Variety that others could still pop in as well.

“I think that Donald is coming, based on word of mouth, but it’s just the deal isn’t official or wasn’t official. It would be difficult to really commit to doing this thing without Donald,” Harmon said. “So I believe he is coming back. I think if there’s names missing from a list, it’s because the names that are on the list, their deals are agreed upon enough that it’s OK to say they are on the list, and anybody that’s not on a list, it’s just not the case yet. So there is nothing official about anybody being out.”
