Community - Part 3

Yeah it felt like half an episode, the writers should know that prequels are rarely good and they basically Episode Oned Community.

This Doppleganger episode is stupid as ****. This is actually making late season The Office look good.

Well, that was weird.

I didn't mind the 'evil' guys but they should have went full in. They chickened out, and it was odd. By far Ganz worst episode.

Terrible 'series finale' and 'season finale'. They should have let it go out with last years finale...

It's sad. I love the show so much, and want it to go forever (with Harmon) but we got new episodes and it just was meh. Not overall bad but no great...

We did have some 'old school' feeling episodes like Freaky Friday, Halloween, Xmas, Coat Check Girl, and Inspector Spacetime.

I'm SO TORN for a s5.

I didn't really like this episode. It seemed to encapsulate the worst aspects of the show in the post-Harmon era.

I thought it was okay. They handled the emotional aspect of Jeff graduating quite well.

why waste time only on Jeff? i thought this was season 4 and not episode 1 season 1 ? the whole group should got an ending.
why waste time on a fake made up in my mind story about the evil study group ? they didnt have time for all the other characters? yeah maybe because you spend it on the fake story. Abed's line about finding a way to make paintball cool again was very good and true.

this was a terrible season finale. and if its a series finale then this is just wrong. just wrong.

ok i only now noticed that evil Abed looked like Ra's. what is wrong with me. this is SHH

the whole group should got an ending.

Chevy got an ending. He graduated too. In all seriousness though, the show isn't officially cancelled. They have to leave something open in case of a renewal. Giving Jeff a conclusion makes sense because he's the central character. If the show is cancelled, at least his character got closure and he's the most important one, so it's better than nothing.

I'd say it overplayed the worst aspects of the Harmon years (which is what the writers have done since Harmon left). Too many fans act like Harmon's **** didn't stink, but he started the decline. The new writers should've reigned in what he started. Instead they let it grow.

I liked last night's episode. Evil Annie was ridiculously hot. As far as Jeff getting the focus of the episode, it does make sense, since he is basically the "Zack Morris" of the group.

she wasnt hot enough. she was evil Annie. where was the domino suit?

Yeah, if she didn't own one, she could have at least taken the one hanging up in Pelton's office.

I never said the show was beyond criticism under Harmon. What I said, that it had the worst aspects of the post-Harmon years, was a reflection of what you said because the worst aspects of the post-Harmon years are the things that gradually seeped into season 3. Fan service, overindulgence on meta references, etc. The writers relied on these things greatly in season 4 to compensate for Harmon's absence, and the results were more negative than positive.

It certainly seemed likely to be renewed these past few weeks. I would have been in favor of just ending the show instead of having it become more of a caricature of itself, but any Community is still a good thing.

And no Chevy finally, any time he showed up this season was just awkward. Like, he just seems really random in the finale last night.

Yeah, no.

I have to disagree. Season 2 was Harmon's best season, thus yes there was a decline in Season 3. But that decline was little more than it had a few concept episodes that did not work and had a few misses. It also had my favorite episode of the whole series ("Remedial Chaos Theory") and a few other classics like the Ken Burns Pillow and Blanket episode, "Regional Holiday Music," "The Chang Dynasty," "Introduction to Finality" and a few others.

However, looking back on Season 4, the only episode I really liked was the muppets one just because I thought it was inventive and did a good job of aping that style of music.

Unlike Harmon, this episode chose to end its potential series finale on a complete fantasy. It is the second time this season they have used the "It was all a dream" excuse to go full fledged Seth McFarlane and it just did not work. There were a few nice in-jokes like The Cape and Star Burns, but ugh.

Jeff's graduation should have felt like a climactic moment for the series and not an afterthought. Never mind Pierce barely even getting a send off.

Eh, it was a waste.

So, what exactly was the deal with Chevy this series?

Also that was a terrible finale. This series really took to WAY too far with that kind of stuff. Plus there was a bunch of stuff set up or just randomly dropped like they had a full series worth of scripts, but decided to throw out the normal episodes with the importnant plot stuff in them.

Wait, what did happen to Starburns?! Don't remember seeing him all season

Wait, what did happen to Starburns?! Don't remember seeing him all season

He faked his death so that he could pursue his true ambitions.

Plus the writer who portrayed him was very close to Harmon and pretty much left the show with him.

Why did the evil group get dispatched so easy? The fight was useless...

Officially Renewed! More details coming soon...
