Comedy Community - Part 4

Well, I just cried.

Damn, that was a beautiful end. I love this show more than anything... I hope there isn't a season 7.

Give us the movie, after some time and the better get Donald back.

The F bombs, Marvel digs, Annie/Jeff capper, Jeff/Abed (where it all started) was so wonderful.

Wish they got a look from Frankie when Abed mentioned 'Friends'.

Yeah I would be fine with that being the series finale.Yahoo! could give Dan Harmon a new show or make a spinoff of sorts.I don't want it to pull a Scrubs.

Plus, the 6 Seasons & A Movie prophecy is perfect.

I need to get around to watching this dang season. I have no excuse.

That tag at the end was the funniest bit. :funny:

As much as everyone hates Chevy Chase the person, I can't help but feel the show is really different without Pierce. I love catching the first three seasons on syndication because it feels like a better show when he is on.

For me it's the absence of Troy that shifted the show's quality...

Not to say it's bad as I quite enjoyed this season. But Troy just gave the show that extra "something"...

And maybe I'm wrong, but it almost feels like Glover doesn't want anything to do with Community at all.

I kind of wonder about this. Does Glover get along with Harmon and the rest of the cast at all? He didn't seem to get any of the bad press Chevy did, but it sure feels like there is a story beyond his music career. plus let's be real, it's a different show without them.

the season was decent enough. i accept the finale. but after Donald,Nicole brown and Chase were gone i thought that they will do something more interesting with Britta. they end it with her working in a bar? in S6 the only main characters left are Annie,Abed,Jeff, Britta and ''Chang''. who cares about Chang. Abed,Annie and Jeff get an ending. nothing with Britta. this week i will rewatch S 1-3.

if there is a movie all need to come back. Troy,Pierce,Shirley,Hickey,Frankie and Elroy.

p.s.: what happened to Alison Brie ? she looks 10 years older. and why did they make Britta look so young? she looks younger than Brie in S6.

Finished binge watching this over the past week and was impressed with how they were able to bring it together without so much of the original cast. While it may not be on par with the show at its best it was mostly funny and had some great moments. The cameos throughout were pretty good. I was surprised by how funny Keith David was and it was also nice to see Yvette Nicole Brown show up in the first and last episodes.

It's a testament to the show that with half of its original cast members gone, the show still manages to be better than most comedy shows out there, if not shows in general. Especially when you consider shows such as Office and That 70's Shows which suffered greatly after a cast member left.

Community is done and over with. At least the one we know. It sounds like Yahoo wants to continue it but if they somehow managed to do so it would be with an entirely new cast I suspect.

After being cancelled by NBC and then picked up by Yahoo, there was hope that Dan Harmon's sitcom "Community" would be able to continue life on the online portal where it reportedly had performed well in its sixth season.

Sadly though, the show's star Joel McHale spoke with Metro Weekly recently and said that there won't be any further episodes. It's not because Yahoo doesn't want to continue it, rather it's because the show is too prohibitively expensive to continue with:

"No. They wanted to. But all of our contracts were up after six years. All the actors on the show, almost without exception - their stock has risen significantly and it's out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show. So you're not going to be able to get Alison Brie or Gillian Jacobs at a normal television salary anymore. There is just not enough money to be able to pay for the show."
"Community" helped Yahoo Screen jump into original programming which they're planning to continue with such new shows as the comedy "Other Space".

Update: Yahoo has responded to the interview (via Deadline) saying only: "We've seen tremendous value in our partnership with Sony and are continuing to discuss future opportunities for Community."

I would be fine with it ending, and the cast moving on to do different things. If a movie happens down the line that would great.

A movie actually seems possible and more fitting for the show as well.

Well, I never watched past the first episode on their stupid website. It always cut out, commercials played in loops, or froze. Yahoo failed on their own... I wanted to watch it on their, but their technology made me go elsewhere online to 'find it' in glorious 1080 instead of the ******** they tried to peddle.

I take it the chances of getting this on DVD are slim to none?

I'm just looking to complete my set.
