I just heard about this yesterday. Well, NBC just lost my ratings. The Office has been absolutely HORRIBLE and why they continued it when Steve Carrell left is beyond me. That Whitney show is absolutely garbage. She herself is a funny comedian but that show is just bad. Nothing new or innovative at all.

The only ratings NBC gets from me, unfortunately, will be Sunday Night football and sometimes that's even debatable. If not for my fantasy leagues and the Steelers not playing in the coming week...they wouldn't get any ratings from me at all. No wonder everyone watches CBS! :cmad:

Seriously though...this is probably one of the funniest and most innovative shows on television in a long time. It was REALLY starting to find its legs and now their getting them cut out from underneath them. Hopefully some people at NBC gets fired for this.

Also...if you want to hit them where it hurts...make sure everyone you know doesn't watch another NBC show again until Community is restored. Watch CBS. Watch ABC. Watch FOX. A DVD. Watch porno on the Internet. Because that's where it's going to hurt NBC. I like 30 Rock and all but that show has kind of run its course as well, much like The Office.

Heard about this yesterday.

NBC can count on me NOT watching until the show is back.

:oldrazz:

As long as NBC keeps making really dumb decisions then yes I will!

People watching CBS is kind of the problem that gives Community bad ratings. They'd rather watch a show that laughs at nerds than watch a show that accepts nerds.

CBS entirely sucks.

Why anyone is into this NCIS, CSI crap is beyond me.

It's more than just a nerd thing. Giving the Big Bang Theory higher numbers is basically sending a message that America would rather be watching standard, uniform, run-of-the-mill comedy that should have gone out of style a decade ago, rather than some of the most brilliantly written, smart comedy on television today.

What does it say about people who watch both? :oldrazz:

Indeed. Community is cutting-edge and while a sitcom (thus based in clichés and formulaic conventions), it is self-aware and deconstructs itself constantly. It also aims to do something different nearly every episode and therefore is always a surprise for the viewer.

That constant reinvention can lead to the occasional dud, but overall it is constantly surprising the viewer. But most viewers don't want to be surprised. They just want the same consistent thing week-in week-out that is only slightly reworked and tweaked to pretend it's different. Enter Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, and pretty much anything Chuck Lorre has created.

Sad, but true.

different strokes for different folks.... i for one enjoy not only Community but BBT & both NCIS & NCISLA.

Great post. One of the best explanations of Community I've read.

And entirely true.

People would rather watch something 'by the book' than something that tries to re-invent the genre.

Casual viewers prefer the safe choice every single time.

NBC is absolutely insane. All anyone has to do is go and watch Paradigms of Human memory and then watch the season 1 finale and listen to the flawless and brilliant dialogue. So many classic episodes. By far the best show on TV

i think with more promotion NBC could get some more people to watch it. but Community would never be a big hit show.

and from what i understand from season 1 until season 3 they didnt change the show based on what the public likes. for example Big Bang Theory. Leonard was the main character and Sheldon was almost the crazy sidekick. after Sheldon got popular they made the show almost only with Sheldon jokes.a lot focus was on him. in Community every season the charactesr get enoug focus and a story through the season.the whole group.

maybe filming outside was to expensive. maybe the group should be more inside the college . that way they would save some money.

could a network change help for season 4? like Scrubs

episode 9 ''Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism''

''Jeff and Shirley bond over foosball; after breaking Abed's limited edition ``Dark Knight'' DVD, Annie claims that someone broke into the apartment and stole it.'' :hehe:

I have the sneaking suspicion that the episode will end with Annie running off into the night, while either Troy or Abed deliver a soliloquy about "the roommate we deserve. Not the roommate we need ..."

An episode homaging Army of Darkness. I never thought that would happen it. It was amazing.

Good episode tonight. And to think all the heartfelt moments could be some of the show's last.

Was that a Chuck cameo at the start there?

that was a damn good episode.... cannot believe that the show is being benched
