Even the old movies didn't do it exactly the same every time.

I believe one of those images is mirror flipped...and Superman DID have his hair combed the other way, when he was evil Superman in Superman III as a nice touch.

Reeve's hairstyle helped him "set apart" both the Superman and Clark Kent characters.

I think the hairstyle projected the desired effect.

Indeed. This was a great detail in Reeve's portrayal. Hairstyle changes probably have the biggest affect on a person's face. Why? because it's probably the only thing that can be molded and styled on your head. A person's facial structure you cant change but changing their hair has a great impact. If one day you suddenly combed your hair different people would notice. When you get a haircut people notice. Will Routh's hair affect the story? Nope. But it can affect his look. I think that's what most ppl are saying. Some people need to differentiate between that. And IMO the look of superman is just as important as the story.

Note proper hair part and also, the spit curl is as it should be, a natural curl as part of Superman's natural slightly curly hair...Reeve also had natural curly hair but he does have a bit of a 70s perm as Superman.

the difference between rouths superman and clark kent image is bigger than with reeves.

Not really. They're pretty much the same since Routh seems to have taken a lot of influence from Reeve's portrayal.

What i liked about Reeve's portrayal is thta he would slouch as clark, making him look weaker and shorter. As superman he would stand up tall, with good posture. Which goes even further to separate the two. Routh doesnt seem to have this in his portrayal. Reeve had all these little intricacies to his handling of the two characters. I cant wait to see what uniqueness Routh will bring.

how do you define fake and real? Im pretty sure he doesnt have a natural curl because his hair is pretty straight. The thing is, in the movie, his curl doesnt look natural because it doesnt follow the natural straightness of his hair. Whereas if you look at Reeve's it does follow the flow of the hair.

I just hope that Routh's hair doesn't appear as brown as some of the pictures Ive seen. I don't mind a 'brown tint' but not brown brown!

Well, if the spit curl isn't his real hair....if it's not attached to his skull, yeah...fake for me.

But, if they put alot of hair gel on it or something....nah, real to me.

I agee with the wavy hair thing too, having his hair wavy with the spit curl does look better.

I dont think reeve wore a wig in superman 1 and 2. Someone said he wore one in 3 and 4. So taking that, Reeve's hair naturally flows and is wavy so his curl is more natural making it a real curl.. meaning that they didnt really have to do a whole lot to make it look real.

Reeve did not wear a wig in 1 or 2. But had to in 3 and 4 because the black hair dye caused his scalp to breakout something horrible.
