Well yeah, he did. He still had that presence. I'm talking about the look, the face and the attitude. Not build, or how you're presented. Think Clint Eastwood... he's not a big, buff guy, but if he was staring right at you, you'd crap your pants lol.

Watch a few episodes of stargate atlantis, Jason can 100% give you a 'crap your pants' look and can give off an impression of someone you would not like to mess with.

As for the look of Conan, Jason is a tall guy who is in good shape, he could do with being a bit more buff and I'm sure that's something he'll be working on.

@ Kirmit, but Conan isn't just a tough guy. It's more than looking angry or anything. It's just a general presence. It's hard to explain it, but if you pick up any Robert E. Howard Conan story, and just read the paragraph that describes his entrance, it explains him to a T. I'll go get my copy and try and find something good.

I think it can work, Ive always pictured Conan as more ripped than just being a bodybuilder type...he's big because of the life he's had and what hes had to survive....he's ropy and solid like a slab of granite

I'm glad they simply didn't pick someone that looks like Arnold, because there's only one Arnold and I highly doubt the new movie will make fans forget about the originals. I do expect better special effects and cinematography from the new Conan and that's about it.
