The Dark Knight Concerns about TDK

Nolan is totally ripping off Burton's original Idea for superhero named Batman to dress in a black suit and fight crime.

OH I know, did you know in the dark knight (pfft like anyone knows what that means) thats Nolan actually has the balls to copy direct from Burtons movie The Joker! he didn't even bother to hire Nicholson again and got Brokeback batman! Man I wish Burton was here to hold me...:wow:

All of the people who say Nolan ripped off Burton are grasping at straws. They like Burton's films better and can't elaborate on their arguments, so they call Nolan a ripoff artist. For better or worse, Nolan's vision is different from Burton's while still being Batman, not a ripoff. And this is from someone who, while not a Burton fanboy, enjoys Burton's films much more than Begins.

Burton gets really old, real fast for me. The only movie that has a lot of repeat value for me is Big Fish.. other then that, nada

Really? what about all the decapitations in Sleepy Hollow? Nightmare Before Christmas is loaded with imagination from beginning to end. From hardcore fans of his, Big Fish is considered one of his middling efforts. I suppose it's just the strangeness of his world is not something you can relate to. Which is good, I guess, since most of his protagonists are not happy people.

I think Big Fish was one of his more Mature attempts at a movie and believe he did a fantastic job with it. I also forgot Ed Wood, I love that movie, but Johnny Depp did carry that movie like he does with most of his films..

Moving on Those other movies just seem really cliche with a tim burton motif. I could easily relate to the strangeness of his world but I like it when he breaks through and does something different then a depressed Johnny Depp lead.

Ed Wood is my favorite movie he's ever done. Everyone here should watch it.

Zimmer and Howard's scores were so subtle that you barely knew they were there. That's why they worked so damn well. You didn't have to let the music carry the images and their rhythm; virtually every scene in Batman Begins was packed with enough intensity, action, or emotion to the point that it didn't require an Elfman-esquee score.

Very well said, good sir.

Bingo. I love Ed Wood, Nightmare and Sleepy Hollow (although he butchered the book).

Yeah. Now if Ron Perlman had also been in it, we'd be talking gold.

Hell if William Defoe and Gary Oldman were in it, it would have been amazing

Agreed (and I think for the first time completely).

haha, I think we have the same taste in actors other stuff I dunno haha

ed wood is easily burton's best movie. but the thing about that, is that it wasn't anything like burton's other movies. it didn't have the same style to it. it was like a normal movie. but it was a really really good movie. and yes depp carried it with his portrayal of wood. that movie is classic.

well it had the which with one eye and it had creepy burton-looking trees and things like that. i mean, i'll admit i always forgot it was a burton movie, and a lot of people i know never noticed it was a burton movie. but if you really look at it, it has a lot of burtonesque qualities to it. that being said, i also like big fish a lot. and i'm a guy who doesn't like ewan all that much. i mean, he's alright.

Ewan= awesome! He is Obi! and carried the whole new Star Wars franchise! oh well. Ya I see how it has his qualities but it was very chipper and cheery vs. very very dark.

Oh and to stay on subject, I'm concerned about the kids at hot topic who think they are true Joker fans when the movie comes out and really haven't read jack or sh*@ about Batman

As much as I do like Ed Wood, Big Fish et. all consider me a complete Edward Scissorhands devotee. Sure it might not have the depth or perhaps even maturity of some of Burton's later work, but the way I felt after watching that film, well, there have been few others that have matched that level of emotion and appreciation.

Anthony Michael Hall was in Edward Scissorhands..

(and now the circle is complete!)
