Constantine General Discussion Thread - Part 1

This is because you and every one else don't understand the differents between a production company and Network. CW is a network who airs TV shows they only care about ratings. If show makes the grade they will keep it on there network. Studios are the ones who actually make the show. They care about making money that will keep the show on the network.

In short if a love triangle where to happen on Constantine it would have nothing to do with Network; it would all be on the studio who write and produce the show.

There are many shows on CW that don't have love triangles. The biggest one that doesn't have that at all is Supernatural. So Constantine could carry on the CW just as it is with no changes. The only difference is that it has much stronger chance of Surviving then on NBC.

It really doesn't matter any way. If the show gets cancelled the chances of it being moved any where will be so astronomically small it's not even worth talking about.

Also you think it will survive better on SyFy. Well let me be blunt it will have even less of a chance of Surviving. SyFy stopped being SyFY years ago. They don't play these types of shows for the most part and ones they do have are of poor quality and not worth watching. SyFy has become about reality shows and wrestling.

If Constantine where to be moved to SyFy it would slip fade away and die slowly. Most people wouldn't realize that it was still on the air. The ones that did would watch it but due to lack of money the production company would have to take short cuts and thus quality of show would get worse. This would eventually lead to viewers to stop watching and lead to the show being cancelled.

You want to know how I know this? It's because almost all the shows that aren't Reality or wrestling suck or have been cancelled. I rather see it die off then moved to SyFy. I used to live on SyFy channel and now I don't watch it because it stopped being the SyFy channel. They sold out and sold out people like me who loved SciFi shows.

Again it doesn't matter cause it will not be moved. More then likely it will be cancelled and that will be that.

IIRC, Syfy is trying to go back to its roots with some new shows lined up.

This is a comic book show. It just needs to get some more promotion and a better time-slot. If that happens people will be watching it a lot, like all other comic book shows. Hell, if Supernatural ends soon (which should've happened 7 seasons ago), people will need a new occult show.

It doesn't make sense for NBC or other channels to really miss that opportunity. Sometimes they've got to take risks and since this show is already developing a cult following, it will be of their best interest to learn how to do some business.

Otherwise they'll have the viewers they alienated flock to Netflix and the lot

Did anyone catch 'The Spectre created by Jerry Siegel' during the opening credits? We're getting the Spectre in the last episode?

Daniel Cerone said this on twitter. Look's like last night we had Spectre's first sanction.

Proud to say @mattryanreal and @EmmettScanlan pitched the #Spectre justice ending. Was written as an arrest. This is better. #Constantine

Have you noticed that John is smoking like non-stop for the last couple of episodes... and I don't mean like just playing with a cigarette, but like chain-smoking :D

I was reading Daniel's Twitter feed last night. It was interesting when he said there was an NBC exec at their finale party and he enjoys watching the show.

Do something about it then! :cmad: :oldrazz:

Looks like the SyFy rumor was just wishful thinking

@Syfy · 5h 5 hours ago
A: I’ve heard no discussion of #Constantine moving to Syfy. I don’t know where that rumor came from.

I remember Hannibal struggling at first and it's still here. :)

Hannibal is still on because it's cheap for NBC (they only pay to air it) and it's critically acclaimed.

So the show is ****ed then. Unfortunate.

We still have until May to learn whether the show's screwed or not. Plus there still time for the come rumors to come true. If the Sony leaks regarding the Marvel deal to this past week taught us anything, there's still hope

TV ratings is an outdated system that really needs changing. Too many shows fall prey to the stupid system.

Yes. You think someone would have the guts to call for the Nielson Research Group to be dismantled since Netflix and Amazon Prime's successes proved the system is no longer necessary and obsolete

You do have a good point. Maybe a television miracle will happen.

Yeah I've been cursing those dumb Nielson boxes for a decade after my favorite TV franchise (Stargate) had not one or two, but all THREE shows cancelled due to "low" ratings. So many cancelled shows since then I felt still had enough of an audience to continue.

I guess they knew with an impending cancellation/move to another network they didn't care anymore.

Yeah, we got chain-smoking and a proper trench coat in this last episode. It was also one of the darker and ballsier ones, like this show should have been from the beginning.

The episode got second place in the Nielsen TV Twitter ratings and it was trending Friday night. Wish I got a screenshot of it, but when I went back to the website to do that it was updated with Saturday's twitter ratings. Hopefully NBC looks past those box users and actually looks at the other places the show is available on.

Sadly, Neilsen ratings are still to important to tv.
