They could probably do separate sections for Marvel Comics Series (7) and DC Comics Series (4) at this point.

Then where would Walking Dead go? :P

The most annoying complaints that I have seen are comments about there being no keanu in this and comments about the character not smoking.

lol if people actually read the comics they'd know that the Movie got everything wrong.

Disappointed by the clip because of ONE thing that will bother me throughout the entire series:

Well, the CONSTANTINE trailer has arrived, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. There are some sequences that seem effectively chilling, with some good demonic SFX in particular. But there are other parts that seem really hokey, really clean-cut and stagey in that bottom-drawer network TV kinda way, and the lead actress seems to be wooden as a plank. But of course, the show will rise or fall on the success of its leading man. John Constantine is one of the most charismatic protagonists in comics, and I can't quite put my finger on whether Matt Ryan is striking the right chord or not. He looks the part, and generally seems closer to the Constantine of the comics than Keanu Reeves did, at least. But - and this could be down to a 3-minute trailer not capturing the nuances of the role, I'll admit - he seems here to me pretty much a standard hero with some quips up his sleeves rather than the acerbic, manipulative anti-hero of the comics. And Matt Ryan's accent is VERY Welsh, with it only sporadically sounding like he's even attempting a Liverpool accent. Jury's out on this one, but I shall hope for the best. CONSTANTINE would be wise to draw some inspiration from its NBC stablemate, HANNIBAL, in trying to nail down a tone.

100% this. He wasnt dangerous, and enigmatic enough in the trailer. I dont even know if hes a con man in here. But it's just a trailer though.

I enjoyed the movie and thought Keanu did a good job in that version. Haters be damned. It isnt hellblazer constantine, but I dont really give a ****. All that matters to me is I like it. I can see why others would want him back. The trailer doesnt do a great job of making this new visually more accurate Constantine more appealing than Keanu. In fact Ill take Keanu's monotone to the new guy's Welsh accent any day. And Keanu in the movie was properly burnt out and pissed off. Not a cheery jolly brit waltzing around spouting quaint british curse words to make the americans chuckle.

Yeah, I really hate that trailer and the new Constantine the more I watch it. I should probably stop watching it.

I don't like that his forays into the supernatural are seemingly going to be portrayed again as some sort of job or obligation, as opposed to something he does for kicks.

Them, Francis Lawrence, the screenwriters, Shuler-Donner, etc. **** em all!

I didn't hate the movie, but for anyone to act as if the movie is somehow so definitive that this show is doing some sort of disservice to the character is just ridiculous.

F*** everyone.

At FIRST I was gonna say I wanted Keanu back....and I never saw the movie, then I watched the entire trailer for the tv series...and well, I dunno who this Matt Ryan is, but by the end of the trailer I was like 'Yes...Fridays I am there'.

I get what you were saying. I appreciate that much of the American viewing audience won't be able to tell the difference between a Welsh accent and a Liverpudlian accent, but I notice it, and the other British folk on my social media feeds are noticing it. The little touches like that, not going the extra mile for authenticity, niggle at me.

And, as I said above, the whole thing feels very safe and sanitised, from the little we see here, at least. Right now I'm getting the sense that this is much more "DC New 52 Constantine" than "DC Vertigo Hellblazer."
Goyer says he is a life long Constantine fan and in there is twenty years of Hellblazer comic stories as opposed to only a couple years of the new DC 52 version so I think he will draw more from Hellblazer but probably water it down a lot.

We are only seeing Matt Ryan in clips from the pilot episode and some actors take a while to grow into the role so I'm cutting him some slack.

Keanu's Constantine movie was ok but its not the comic Constantine which is far better in my opinion.

The Keanu movie barely turned a profit which is why there was no sequel despite the director and Keanu really wanting to make one.
