I dunno, tough call. Scarlet took out Maestro which brings points against Venom...but would Carrion fare better?

your choice between Venom and Carrion is fighting my Scarlet Witch??

It has to be that choice if you are smart and look ahead. Normally, I would totally pick Venom over Carrion...BUT, I think Carrion would have the better chance against Scarlet Witch. Depending on that weeks location, that might also make all the difference. (Plus, I take it this is Eddie Brock Venom??? Or, do we consider that in winning a match, you have to defeat the symbiote or either host and/or symbiote?)

Venom is 1/2 Eddie 1/2 Symbiote...it wouldn't technically be the "original" Venom if the symbiote left Eddie...same as Carnage....

Yeah, by Venom it's Brock joined with the symbiote,.. typical Venom. (and are they ever going to do something with Gorgan/Venom? That has potential to be neat).

And in reguards to the Carrion/Venom matchup. It's best to wait and let the rematch take place, that way you can see possibly two rounds in advance before choosing which charcter you want to advance. That's a bonus that doesn't come everyday. And I don't know much on Scarlet Witch (she's confused me for years) but while Carrion is a quicker win, Venom is more versatile,.. both being underdogs in the match. It'll be tough either way, but not impossible.

Brackets are about to be put up. Again, please wait in responding to any matches until both brackets are up in each thread. Also, feel free to add an bios that speak better for your character. I generally pick from the Marvel Directory first...and sometimes they are not as up to date as another you might find.

Man, there are some good matches this week that will be totally decided by the debates. The only blow out I can predict is Thanos vs. Songbird. And, even though many might think Xavier vs. Human Torch-Tara might be one...Human Torch actually has a pretty good chance if she gets a good argument supporting her.

What a jip! I don't have any matches this week :( :down

OOps! Thanks to you I remembered I have to put up the rematch between Venom and Carrion. There...you have a match to debate!

Venom and Carrion aren't my dudes...and the winner is fighting my Scarlet Witch so I hope they destroy eachother

Location where art thou...

Oh here you are...

This week's matches will be held in Genosha, inside the capital city of Hammer Bay. But these matches will take place just "after" the massive mutant genocide caused by the Sentinels. So the city will be laying in ruins with dead mutants everywhere.....:(

Man, if Magneto had gotten that location, nothing could have stopped him.

Yeah, his emotions from just being there would have sent him way over the edge. :xmen:

Hey guys,... just letting you know that the move went well, but that I will not be having internet again until this coming Saturday. I happened to be at my Mom's house so I wrote real quick arguments for my matches, and I'll probably be here again on Wednesday (watching Lost) but I'll try to get my votes in then too. But other than that, I don't know if I'll be on before next Saturday sometime. Keep up the good work

I thought I would mention, the fact that the X-men 3 Teaser Trailer looks AWESOME....:D:up::up:

It's definitely now the movie I am most looking forward to in 2006...

I just bought Fantastic Four DVD, which is suppose to have the trailer also. I did read USA Today yesterday, and they said this would probably be the last X-Men movie. (Although, I know they are planning on doing a Wolverine movie.) I can't believe if it's a big hit, that they won't do another. Maybe without saying it, they mean it will be the last of it's type with the entire cast.

Also, what about those Seahawks? We still don't get any respect, though. Announcers were more trying to say the Eagles are more bad than the Seahawks are that good.

Well actually I have been a fan of the Eagles since I was a small boy. This year is the worst they have played for the past decade. No disrespect towards the Seahawks who are having a great year, but the Eagles are not a complete team....:( They need to trade McNabb, get some better pass defence, and while they're at it, some bigger guys up front wouldn't hurt, they definetely need a new Wide Receiver since "the name we dare not speak" was kicked off, and probably some better tight ends....Dear Santa....

PS I seriously doubt they will end the X-men with this movie. If it's a big success and makes a big profit I will GUARANTEE that they will have another. Money rules all for the movie studios. However the chances they will have the same crew will be slim to none.

Yeah, sadly after the score was 14-0, you could tell that the Eagles just gave up. I don't think they should have benched McMahon, either. But, it was almost as if Andy Reid was letting the fans dictate the game at one point. (I'm almost surprised they didn't call down Randall Cunningham from the luxury box to help out.) What was very obvious was probably how good Owens is compared to all of your wideouts (except for the one, I can't think of his name right now). Many passes were right where they needed to be, but they just dropped it. Also, many long bombs overthrown. Sadly, Owens killed your team. I was listening on the radio, and many members of the Eagles were asking the former Eagle players who were in attendance about what Reggie would have done with Terrell. That just shows that even though they want to say they are past it, they really aren't.

As for X-Men, you have to figure each new movie is having to beat the previous in number of X-Men and what they are doing with the script. X-2 really raised the bar dramatically from the first movie. Plus, I'm tired of Halle Berry griping about how she doesn't get enough movie time. She should be happy she's in a good movie...it's better than getting so much time in Catwoman, that's for sure.

So far, we have quite a few blowouts...but, some really good matches going on. Of course, Carrion and Venom are tied again (we might have to beg Sparta to display this match-up to find out a winner), Snowbird and Gideon is surprising me by also being tied, and Shola vs. Union Jack is still too close to see where it's going.

While I'm surprised my Unus is getting almost blown away by Brother Vodoo who I pretty much made powerless in my debate, I think the biggest surprise is Vargas loosing 4-2 to Kane. After all, just looking at how Vargas killed Psylocke and almost killed Beast, I find him a much bigger threat than his opponent.

Anyway, the magic number seems to be 7. Seven votes will usually get a person the win, and Mr. Sinister, Cable, and Xavier only need one more vote to reach the magic number. Tri-Sentinel and Thanos already have that. (But, for some reason, Thread 1 is the only one with seven votes tallied so far. Thread 2 & 4 have 6, while Thread 3 has 5.)

Are you thinking of Westbrook? Yeah they need some MAJOR changes which I am hoping they will get figured out by the start of next season. The Owens issue damaged that team more than anything could. If he didn't mouth off as much they probably could have pulled out a 9-7 record (maybe), and maybe even get into playoffs again. But Owens was only a piece of a larger problem with the team and they need to make some changes. Hopefully sooner than later. Speaking of Reggie(which they retired his number), I almost cried they day they lost him to the Green Bay Packers. He was my favorite player and back then big players didn't change teams very often (sometimes never) through their career.

I also have a Cunningham jersey in my closet, which I normally wear when I am playing football. :D

Regarding X-men, all and all through everything, they have endured (as for SM3 I am not as confident). I hope Halle gets less screen this time, which I doubt, because based on the teaser it looks like she is everywhere....

I haven't voted in 2 and 3 because I find that they have the most difficult matches, and I am still having trouble deciding.

I heard Reggie's widow say yesterday that they want Reggie in his Green Bay uniform when he gets inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Plus, I got the feeling that she had more love for Green Bay than Phili. Did that bother you at all?

*sigh* I actually didn't hear that yet. It's a tough call since he spent the first half of his career with Philly, and the other half with GB. I would be surprised if Reggie felt the same way, but of course most people know him for playing in GB so I am not totally shocked.

Reggie is still Reggie, and you don't find that type of class in football anymore, I am just glad he got to play for the Eagles.
