CONTINUITY ERRORS: The Official Thread (Warning: Major Spoilers)

no b/c you had just enough "no life" to see the movie THREE!!! times

How long is the GGB? Does it usually take about 12 hrs to cross it...walking?

Um, if Jean died at Akilai Lake in X2, then dies again, should she have 2 graves, or do they recycle them? Hell, in the comics she should have her own cemetary.

Where did Rogue go from the cure to the end of the movie?

Where did the X-men go when they left the finale battle...early?

Just when did Wolverine become a field leader, and battle tactition? Seeing how Storm has TEAM field experience and leader experience too, should it had been she who said, "Hold this line!"

Uh....If you're trying to insult me, try again.... I planned a vacation from work last year in anticipation to see this movie. And if you choose to remain ignorant and argue that it's a spider based on your single viewing of the movie, then let your ignorance be your bliss.

And for your information, I usually see a movie that I like more than once... Like so many people here, and around the world.

Did Logan steal the x-jet on his trip to the Red Wood forrest? I mean one minute, he's packing his bags, then he's in the forrest tracking down bad guys. Then Mags catches him, then he's back in New York.

Maybe he called up Nightcrawler to have him bamf over to California real quick.

I saw it fly on, guys. Might not be a bee but it WAS some sort of insect.

I also noticed something weird. When they showed Magneto on the bridge suddenly we see ALL of the brotherhood and his army walking behind him in the middle of the bridge. It takes a long time to walk that distance you know. Plus how can they just pop that many people up?

And, with the sheer weight and dimensions of the bridge, the laws of physics also should have toppled it on it's side and into the ocean, since there were no base/ground supports.

Laws of physics also says you can't move 3 ton bridges with your mind.

Good question. I never thought of that. Jean really should have a pre-existing grave . . .

Also, I agree. No. 10 on the list was pretty bad . . .

The Brotherhood and other mutants were already closest to the island by the time Magneto had dropped the bridge.

Not sure on that one. It was a very long line to get the cure. Maybe she was waiting all that time.

More importantly, HOW did they get home, when Phoenix clearly demolecularized the X-Jet during her rampage.

Maybe after her little "be with us" speech, he said it to give her confidence on where he stands.

The bridge is exceedingly more than 3 tons. More like 1000 times that weight. Yet in X1, he was struggling just to operate his mutation machine.... Go figure.

they kept the blood stains but healed the holes. how can you make that mistake!?!?

Still it was near dawn at the begining of that scene, and they begin the final battle and the moon is high in the sky o_O

I didn't see the x-jet demolocru-dammit that's not a freggin word. But your right about that, if was toast, how did they get home?

How many times did Storm have to give Logan the Choices/Pick a side speech before he finaly got it? Three, apprently.

Actually, it was turning dark when the battle took place. Remember, that's relatively right after Wolverine tried to rescue Jean from the forest.

When they showed the X-Jet land on top of the building, they showed that same area and the front of the X-Jet break apart (as the camera panned from front of the plane to back).

I think so.

2) BOBBY'S ICE SKATES - When Bobby ices up his shoes for the pond scene, it clearly shows that he does NOT have real ice skates and that he created blades out of ice. The very moment when he catches Kitty from falling, and grabs her, the skate blades are clearly made of metal, when the metal shimmers from the background light.

That one was a HUGE error. I wonder how it made it past the editing room.

5) XAVIER'S TOMBSTONE - Xavier's tombstone reads "Father, Teacher, Leader". And although "father" is open to interpretation as a serogate father, if taken literally, nothing was ever mentioned of him having a son.

Okay, there were so many, many, many nods to the comics in this movie. I think it had to do with him being a surrogate father for his first class of students, namely Ororo and Scott in the movie. However if taken as a nod to the comic book continuity then Xavier did indeed have a son, His name was David Haller AKA 'Legion'

He lived for some time with Moira MacTaggert on Muir Island.

6) COLOSSUS' TV - In theory, Peter has the normal strength of a person of his size and build when he is not metalled up. When Bobby goes looking for Rogue at her room and sees Peter in the hallway passing by, Peter is carrying what appears to be a 32" to 36" television with one arm.

7) MYSTIQUE AS A YOUNG GIRL - I can understand that Mystique can change her shape, but to reduce her size to a 11 year old girl is new to me. This takes place when she is captive on the moving caravan prison, when she taunts one of the guards.

Both of these can be chalked up to the extreme liberties taken in the film. I mean Rogue isn't the right age with her peers in the movies compare to her age and her peers in the comics. :)

10) GOLDEN GATE NIGHT SHOT - What seems to be immediately right after Magneto drops the Golden Gate Bridge down on Alcatraz island, it suddenly becomes a night scene just as the final battle takes place.

Something else I can't believe they let slip by in the editing room. It might have washed if the sun was setting and it was dusk, but it clearly went from a middle of the afternoon sun to night time.

Spike, Marrow-Man, whatever... There was one long tendril coming out of his arm, but when he threw them at Wolverine, each one had a sharp tip.

Explain to me how the "spider" flew onto Logan's jacket?

The spidey was floating in the air, thanks to a loose web. :D

Yeah, that bugged me. What bugged me even more is that Angel is apparently about as fast as the X-Jet flying under his own power, and the X-Jet is pretty damn fast, considering it got from New York (where Xavier's school is - I read the plaque on the gate) to SF in a few hours.

My biggest beef with the editing was the fast-forward of time between the GGB move and the Alcatraz battle. It's possible that they cut a lot of scenes between them, but what else could they have done once Magneto got the bridge moved? (And why couldn't he just have hijacked a boat, LOL?)

That was the very first error that I caught during my first viewing of the movie. And although I found more errors, the first viewng was more for enjoyment. My second viewing was spent specifically looking for errors. The third viewing was a little bit of both.

Mebbe not a boat, but magneto could have found some metal and floated all of them there, like cars or something...anything.

And the ice skates....yeah I thought I was seeing things. I think the editors got made that more of the budget got spent on FX, then on them. Or mebbe they were over worked having to rifle thru all the icky crap we didn't see.

It's not changing hight, it's changing her mass.

Shifting around her mass, making herself thiner or thicker in soime areas, taking mass from others, works. However, she cannot just crfeate mass, or reduce her mass to that of a childs.

However, it did not really bother me. I was thinking more about how could the kids body reached all the restraints, but then later they showed that there were no feet restraints.

As for Pete carrying the TV, the guy is naturally HUGE, and likely very strong too. He's just a big guy, there's no reason he wouldn't be able to do that while not fully metalled up.

Doesn't Collosus have another power as well??? I seem to recall he had some kinda explosive force that he createdtoo when he was in metal form.

Let me just clarify something for you fanboys. mystique has turned into a child at numerous occasions in comics, especially in her latest comic book.i don't know why the possiblity of her being able to shrink her size is so impossible but people turning into living ice blocks doesn't bother you.

heres one.. kitty talks to bobby about missing the first snow... hello they live in upstate NY, snow is not a problem unless they suddenly relocated south ! or if kitty was from canada ! lol

This is not really a continuity error, but just a question about the movie.

This seems like a good thread to pose questions..

Leach is a mutant who, when other mutants are near him, temporarily lose their powers.

Instead of killing Jean Grey by the hands of Wolverine, would n't it have been easier to just put Leach next to her... then put that cure needle into her?

Though, the current way also works

Well I dunno, one of the biggest continuity error to me is the DP vs. Wolverine thing. If she can break down anything one a molecular level...shouldn't she have done with adamantium! WTF. They should have chucked Leech at her, then stabbed her a$$ with a couple hundred cure darts, then stabbed Wolvie could have stabbed her. Afterwards Storm could have juiced her up enough to turn her body to dust just to make sure she was dead. (That's what she gets for dukin it to Scott.)
